i've just done the hard badge with following card deck:4x ambush, 5x thief, 5x recruit, 5x guards, 5x mage, 5x pixies, 3x magic wall, 2x magic defense, 2x magic weapons, 5x add weapons/crystals/bricks, 5x builder, 2x house, 5x babylon, 2x wall, 5x school, 5x fence, 5x wain, 2x large wall, 2x trojan horse. if you don't have trojan horse then just leave it out, it should work though. good luck with it :)

too much 'luck' involved... i hate how i got the same bad cards while the computer keep getting the perfect card for that exactly moment

Pretty unbalanced. I spend the first 3 rounds upping my resource gain. During this, I'm pummeled with attacks. Then, the CPU switches and kills all my resource gain, and destroys my stocks. Then I spend the next 3-5 rounds discarding while the computer finishes me off. The past 10 or so matches went this way so I just quit. I got no enjoyment from this sequel.

I just have to say that I'm tired of reading people talking bad about this game. OK, the game is hard, but that doesn't make it the worst game, it's just hard. The AI is perfectly balanced to me, you just need to know how handle it, and doing so took me about 10 minutes, not weeks as some guys are complaining about. Just try build your deck the way it's better against the AI,mainly the hard one, wich I can make sure it's not the same one used against those easy peasy levels.

I'm sorry, but this game didn't improve at all from the 1st. The graphics might have been slightly worse, but at least game play wasn't broken by unbalanced AI; hard mode or not.

For those having trouble with hard mode: Try using Sacrifice Builder/Recruit/Mage cards to ruin the AI's production, Thieves to keep the AI poor, and Magic Defense to buy time to do so. It may take a few restarts, but if you can destroy the AI's economy, it'll have to discard all those Dragons, Trojan Horses, and Curses while you leisurely stroll to victory.

A much better game than castle wars 1 in terms of graphics and new cards :) but just some things to work on is the hard campaign.... its supposed to be tought but not gears of war 2 insane mode tough. Also when a another player leaves a multi game then you should have a win added to your ratio.Really tought to actually get a win that records as most leave when they are about to lose.

game has locked up twice now in campaign. i play a card, it goes to his turn, arrow stays on his castle, all cards are turned face down, i can't do any actions... he's not taking his turn and nothing i click will make him go. first time trying to play this game and was hoping i could have some fun, but 15 minutes and it broke.. twice...

Great game 5/5. Best game i like so far. Game Requires sense and patience to set up deck and choose cards carefully. + if u agree

this game is so frustrating. it doesn't matter how much of a 'builders' deck one makes, the AI is so unbalanced... argh. so stupid to waste hours trying to get a badge that's all dependent on 'luck' and not at all on strategy.

How to win on hard: Discard. Discard three attack/building cards a turn 'till you get thieves and (optimally) ADD WEAPON cards. Use the thieves to buy schools. The kill mage/kill builder cards hurt, but before to long you should be getting enough resources to take the hit. But, when in doubt, discard - And get some better cards.

Nothing says a fun game like being nearly maxed as a castle while the computer is almost dead and he busts out a dragon and one hit kills. F* this game.

This is how I got the hard badge.... Mostly all I used was Magic weapons, Ambush, and Wain... I made the maximum for each one- 5 cards. Then I tried to get as many as I could from the beginning of the round. Then I waited until my magic was up then I played the magic weapons (Which doubles damage)... Then play the Ambush card. And If the computer's castle hasn't been knocked out yet, go searching for the Wain to win.

Beyond all reasons, I gave this 4stars. It's awesome & all. but then it makes you aggravted making you yell to your computer "COME ON LET ME WIN ALREADY!". I don't have a problem with that, I do it all the time, but just, let there be a hint or some 'cheats' on how to win. aha!

Here's the link to some good decks (Post 10 has a fantastic one!):

Looking at the game, I see that the new features, the graphics, the campaign have all changed. However, I see that hard campaign was more luck-based than it was skill, along with all the imbalances I played through. It actually took me a few days until I found a killer deck (I'll provide link in another post). Overall, I'll give this game a 3/5. It would be 4/5, but the campaign killed me. :/

Even more luck based than the original - all vestige of skill has been removed. And you still ignored the biggest single bug with multiplayer. Wow. It takes real skill to make a sequel that is worse than the original in every way except for the graphics.

I bet u like this
A gift to you
that you will never ever suspect
A TROJON HORSE!!!! =P
btw, I think trojon horse is too overpowered in multiplayer (especially when u draw it at start)

also unlocking cards a bit faster would have been nice... finished easy and medium campaigns, got 2 whole cards for my trouble? and for some reason in the middle of the campaign but not at the end... where's my reward, dammit?

I used a pure building deck: 2 archer, 3 thief, 3 recruit, 5 guards, 5 mage, 5 pixies, 5 magic wall, 5 add crystals, 5 add bricks, 2 all crystals, 5 builder, 2 tower, 5 tavern, 4 babylon, 1 school, 3 fence, 3 all bricks, 5 large wall, 5 reverse, 2 of whatever. The point is to build a tower so quickly that the computer does not have its late-game advantage because you should win by then. I used this deck to win 4 hard campaign missions relatively quickly.
A side note: Since it is not skewed at the start, multiplayer games can be won quickly if you just focus on killing the other player. People are so concerned with adding in new mages and recruits that they are weak early in the game. The standard deck works well.

some UI enhancements: 1) change the resource display - they are all the same color and in a single block, and in opposite directions for the two players so they're really hard to compare. old vertical layout was better. 2) took me 10 minutes to find how to get to the main menu. 3) what happened to goold old mouse-over-to-see-description? three clicks to see what's going on is annoying! 4) add the old ctrl+click-to-discard option, three clicks to discard = annoying.

Btw, those were tips on the final hard boss I found here on Kongregate, I couldn't fit it all in so I edited it a little.
