Oops - Computer uses the same deck you do!!
RED: 1 Babylon, 9 Defence. BLUE: 4 Conjure Weapons, 4 Crush Weapons, 2 Pixies. In 22 turns you discard every card except your 1x Babylon and 2x Pixies. The Expert computer builds fences and messes with Green and dies at its original 30 Castle. Mathematically impossible for you to lose.

question... why does THIS game have achievements, prizes, etc. rather than castle wars 2? The second one is obviously much better and is cooler, with customizable decks, good multipalyer etc.....

If you want to win, customized your deck for Offense or Defense.
For Offense: Get a high number of recruits and conjure weapons- theif, swat, and banshee are your major attacks.
For Defense: Get a high number of builders and conjure bricks, also get a decent number of forts, wains, and a few Babylons.
You will ALWAYS need magic, so get a decent number of scorcerers and dragons for offense and pixies for defense.

I have developed a glitch, where in single player mode it won't let you discard. In fact, the computer couldn't play anything one time and it wouldn't let IT discard. Frustrating, because I keep having to restart when I run out of cards I can play.

people just quit out when they think they will lose. its pathetic that a good game is consistently ruined by these people

Here's an easy strategy if you have trouble with the bots: use recruits/sorcerer/school immediately, try to get two big attacks or two big castle-builder moves, then build up resources until you can use those two moves consecutively. The bots don't respond well when you make two huge moves in a row.

This game was incredible difficult even on easy. I played five matches on beginner vs the computer and only won once, Great concept but please make beginner not so hard!

I like the game a lot, the only thing that sucks about it is the chat, and the fact that you can't click cards on your turn sometimes which pretty much ends the game since someone has to quit.
Best strategy though - max out all the red cards, for green max out thief and soldiers(less soldiers works just as well), for blue max out conjure blocks, sorcerer, and pixies. In game just try to get to 100 before the enemy does(which you should be able to do with ease) using most efficient cards first(babylon being inefficient). I beat an experienced bot within 10 turns this way.

This game is horrible.I would like to say this is a good game, but I grew up around it and know it.The graphics are cheesy, and whether or not it was meant, they suck. The game is completely based off of luck, there is no skill. It is luck what your opponent uses, luck what you draw. Also, the game itself has alot of annoying "cheats" like the computer being able to counter your cards by knowing what you put and then countering it.Other than that, its basicly the game War with drawings and a hand.2/5

if you cancel multiplayer you can't play any other modes due to the constant reconnect attempts. Really cheap coding.

Who do I report this game to? It's a blatant rip off of Arcomage that someone has already mentioned. I guess it's a good thing 3DO isn't around anymore. Although I think they were when this came out...

if you're playing single player, don't let the computer run out of resources... it doesn't seem to know how to discard and the game freezes

many bugs. when i try to talk during the game and then try to click a card sometimes it does not let me do anything even when the cards are lit up

just realized, computer uses same deck as u. makin it REALLY annoying when you made a good deck and you still lose from bad luck

Such a piece of shit game! Always a f*cking problem. Either you disconnect for no reason, your opponent quits, or you have to forfeit because you have no cards in your hand that you can play, and the f*cking discard function doesnt work!

Mad easy if you customize your deck. Just get rid of everything except magic, as that's pretty much the "does everything" skillset. Makes it such that you only have to focus on one resource, and the computer will be stupid enough to use the conjure or crush bricks/weapons all the time.

It is a good game, but not a great game. This is because even on beginner the game is extremely hard, thumbs up if you agree.
