Very unique game, it has a lot of things to do, and the dev seems very active fixing bugs and adding new features, I will enjoy my staying.

this is a weird game with chess pieces not moving like chess pieces, mechanics that are not clear from the beginning, like how to rise the kings health in campaign, strange lags and some weird bugs like pieces moving and then being set back to an earlier field. Also I keep toggling full screen even though I don't want to play in full screen mode... Also funny what comments the dev adds - but thumbs up he still seems to work on this game
I'm working to improve the game and make the game more clear. Improving tutorial, fixing bugs and i hope one day it will be clear enough. The game is really fun after some time, but the beginning is not easy yet to understand as the idea is unique. There are some lags and pieces moving back - it's because of lag. And actually I didn't expect that someone would be annoyed by the full-screen button. Gonna need to find a better place for it.

When I dfeat an enemy, why don't I automatically conquer the field it was standing on? Instead, I have to move to an adjacent field and then move onto it once more...

I am in campaign mission 8 now, but I have no clue how to progress. My king simply cannot get past that long row of enemy towers. This game has a nice premise (I like weird ideas), but severely lacks explanation.
You need to keep continuing at Maze area to level-up. Also upgrade/level-up your gear and add skill-points. This will boost the health for the king and you can continue on the campaign. Also keep building towers to protect from enemy invasion in home area.
In PVP area you can conquer other player's Capital city - and all enemy PVP structures & fields will belong to you. PvP area is cruel as you may lose your conquered zone within night. But you can start PvP area again after moving 500 times in Maze area and revenge your opponent!

I don't seem to be able to proceed. When I go to the "home area", there is nothing to do, as there is no king. And the maze doesn't seem to lead anywhere either.
to unlock the 2nd Maze you need to burn all Walls, conquere all 500 Maze fields. And the home area has a "restart missing" at the right. In home you should build-up your towers to protect your castle from the attacker NPC king.

Do I get this right? Progress reset every 2 months, and the developer says that you can get the impossible badge with "big dedication" in about 3 weeks? That sounds like with anything less than "big dedication", this is going to be super frustrating. Turns me off right from the start.
Look at the highscores. Server opened at February 12th and the rank1 with Fields already having 21600 Fields. Server restarts at April 12th. So it isnt that impossible to collect 15.000 Fields if you play since the beginning of the server. The "impossible" badge is used to be completed within 6 months of gameplay. So withing 6 months you have like 3 attempts to complete it. It's possible to collect 1000 Fields/4 hours in a day. So 15k Fields = 60 hours of gameplay. So its enough to play for 1 hour everyday if you play since the server beginning.

Wtf am I looking at, it seems like there's a really great game buried beneath a layer of complete confusion. I could see plenty of people running from this, but I'm enjoying it

Considering that you played just for 30 minutes, you will see that every few hours here is a new content, new area with totally new rules and finally a server apocalypse event which rewards with cross-server stuff and leads to the server restart where everyone starts over, but with knowledge already and some benefits from all the seasons completed.

does server reset reset almost all of your progress? it would be BAD for hard badge grinder cuz imagine you almost get the badge and the server reseted and you are doomed
Yes, it does reset with all of your progress. Only cross-server orange items remain and global points, gained from the apocalypse. But now this badge became "impossible". So if you start at the server beginning, you will have 2 months and it should be enough for that achievement, if playing consistently. In fact, to achieve this badge with big dedication, its possible within just 3 weeks, mainly in the Wilds area

There's apparently different game modes, but no instructions, no goals, no easy way to read through what these damned red dots are obscuring. This is a bad game.
Its an MMO game with goals to continue with the Campaign and unlock rook/knight/queen chess figures, unlock other areas and the ultimate goal is to survive the apocalypse, get cross-server/real-money-valued items. It's an MMO game, you can't jsut know everything in just 15 minutes of gameplay. I would understand blaming after playing for 5+ hours, but with 15 minutes of game experience your comment doesnt look fair to be honest

Following the tutorial - stuck in level 3? I just press the red buttons until it tells me to restart mission, rinse and repeat.
I see. I've logged into yuor account and i see you didnt follow the tutorial fully and i dont know how you reached 3rd campaign without building all the defensive towers. So you keep losing, as i never encountered such outcome, that someone might reach this 3rd campaign without all towers built.. But thanks for showing me this, starting to fix this now

3rd error: "Craft place for Pikes Helmet" only crafts helmets for horses, and with all other helmets crafted already, i have no place for the actual crafting of Pikes Helmets.

Some errors occur: 1. Daily quests: i can click "gain 60 SP" over and over again ("gained 60 SP"), but when trying to spend them... i don't have them at all (red dot is stuck on "daily" though (same goes for Experience and Upgrade Stones. The 36 ... stopped being available after about 50 clicks or so). 2. On Settings - Account: when i went to visit Discord, my game screen ended being fullscreen, and i'm now unable to find the button to go fullscreen again (game is now even smaller then when first started, and before i went fullscreen!).
Yep, sometimes happends like that and im still hunting this rare bug. Game reload might help about that daily quest reward. and 2. - full screen is available also after the game reload on kongregate. But seems its a common issue and will work to fix that (i disabled it in purpose, to not disturb after clicking on full-screen the first time)
you can go to settings and select Rook to enable its progression and increase Rook move length over time. So the next time you will not lose in that situation :)
I have not added any story as 95% of players dont read anything anyway :D Usually in MMO-RPG games there is a story behind and you click buttons to complete it. But here - needs just to play and survive the apocalypse, which starts in 1 month. Then server restarts, but you are stronger on the next servers, because of cross-server rewards.
Cool, at least this helped. I was avoiding bossy tutorials at all costs just to make players able to complete the mission if there is some bug. As this is a MMO game and there are hundreds of unique situations which i cannot reproduce and other players might encounter. But as i know 2nd mission is possible to be buggy, i will try to break the game to reproduce that part also. Maybe you just did something unexpected to me.

Level 2 might be bugged. I'm just clicking where the tutorial tells me to, but I still lose every retry when the enemy reaches my castle.

Not sure if it's just me but for some reason I can't seem to complete campaign levels most of the time. I follow the tutorial, I get to the other castle, and then it softlocks me there until I reset. So far I've just been doing this until it randomly lets me past and flashes the win screen. Seems like a cool game with a good idea, and I like a lot of the features in it, just wish I didn't get this weird bug/mess it up somehow.
Hi. Is it still problematic? I have fixed many of those problems quite fast and not sure or is it really fixed for everyone. As i also saw the same problems, was able to reproduce and now after fix seems good.

This game is interesting! Found a small issue with it a few minutes into playing, one seems unintentional, the other seems like a bug. When burning a wall with a pawn in the maze I decided to use a bishop to attack a unit nearby, and there was a tower nearby too. When the pawn finished burning the wall, the tower stopped attacking it (Like expected), but then just forgot the bishop exists, and sat there doing nothing as I killed the pawn next to the tower. The thing that seems unintentional was that I was using a bishop to move around PVP mode and get fields to build towers on, and I noticed that when using its extended diagonal move, the tile the bishop skipped over would not be claimed. This would make sense for a knight, but its a bit confusing when it happens to a bishop. Again, I dont know if that last one was intentional or not, or even a bug at all, but just a tad bit confusing

Hi. Sorry for that bad experience. I'm trying my best and fixing this game. If you could describe the problem - i will at least fix that part to the other players. I've tested that game beginning hundreds of times and looking for any suggestions how to improve it :)

Just yea, your account looks really boring - you didnt find the interesting parts of the game yet, rushed to upgrade the maze without maxing up the Home area to unlock more areas - including the most fun having PVP area, without upgrading Abilities or using other features.
But i can say, that the someones who played this game for a few weeks already found an orange items, which is having a real money value! This game is still early and not many players have these items, its still quite easy to find them compared how hard it will be later.
This game lasts for 2 months only - and then its a fresh start for everyone. Only the ones who have orange items found - keep them, thats why orange items have a big real money value, but its hard to find- needs only luck and grind - nothing else helps.

i wish that you could conquer land you travel across with pieces that can move multiple spaces because my hand hurts from conquering each space one by one
well im playing this game for years and it's ok for me :) I had some ideas to conquer by higher scope, or like you suggested. but that's a discussional question - is it really a good idea or bad idea. When i see that the feature is not 100% making the game more interesting or much better generally and its a questionable question, then i just wait. Some players like the way it is, some don't.

Just to remind - any Orange items you get - they persist between servers! These items are cross-server and persist for ever. Servers restart every 9 weeks. 2 weeks prior server restart - apocalyse starts. Surviving in the apocalypse grants cross-server skill points. All cross-server skill points are merged together and on the next server restart - you are already having lots of skill points, providing you great power.

I really don't get how to do Crusade 4 in just 6 moves. I've broken down all of the combinations and it is 7 minumum.
That was temporary. Now its not free anymore :) Yea its a bit p2w, obviously. But to be specific - active players (who play 2+hours/day) will be much stronger than those who play 30mins/day and donate a lot. This game is activity based and in-game purchases does not give that much power as activity does.
Much like any MMO-RPG, where you are active a lot and here is no barrier to level-up. So you will be stronger than others who are donators but dont have that much time to level-up.

Kongregate seems having problems with Facebook authorisation. You can recover password using your facebook email and then login using normal Login.
Hey! thanks for a good review :) Yep, still buggy. I see you played a lot and probably seen most of the remaining bugs (fixing them everyday). Laggy - i believe that it looks so because of some bugs. If you are too far away from north-US, then maybe it could feel some lag. But i believe you mean about some dissapearing units, reappearing after zoom, stucked fights or maybe some performance issues - what mostly is named by players as lag.

the lates update reduce the chances to play in equal conditions gais the system i lose more than a half of the power of my army and i cant recover the power loss with gems or experience bad move you have to rethink about the balance among players and players vs the system
I understand your complain. But I had to fix this dominant strategy and remove the upgrades for gold entirely, sorry. I have removed it because superd2009 was almost inactive for a while and used all gold for swords upgrades. Eventually he had 15000 swords Health only from upgrades with gold, and from all other sources together - just 3000. He didnt need to use any of hes 25k skill points, also items were useless. All the other ingame upgrades were useless in comparison. The active player spends all hes gold for exp and gameplay. And inactive spends for upgrades, and eventually inacgtive is 5 times stronger than the active player. Sounds really unfair.
I will slightly adjust the powers of NPC in maze and cave. Already did in home area - now NPC will not go stronger after reaching 5000th step in current difficulty.

even if there's not going to be a level 31, i think you should continue to keep track of experience. you keep rewarding it through online bonuses, arena rewards, etc., but it doesn't pile up anywhere. otherwise it would be great if lvl30 players could get some other rewards in these circumstances.
Yep. I plan to do something with that excessive exp. maybe swap exp into gold after level 30, or maybe add more levels, which would be ridiculously harder to increase. But its not a priority for now.

there are no rewards for 80 points in Daily quest - i know 80 isn't listed on the Rewards screen, but it keeps indicating more rewards after N more points, where P+N=80 after i got to 70 (so 73 points, 7 more until next reward). just saying
