The game is alright - rating 3/5 stars. I like the idea, I like the characters. But i feel it is kinda grindy (as others have said) and that really the battle will be won by whoever starts it with higher health. There isn't much in the way of skill involved, and the choices we get to make - abilities and the balance of our army, have a relatively minor effect on gameplay, graphics also leave a fair bit to be desired, I feel like it wouldn't take much to have made the aesthetic more varied and engaging. It's not a 'bad' game, but it's a fair way off of being a good one.

Look Islanders, I'm using the money I'm extorti-taxing from you and using to fund your own homes. The excess is going towards giving us incredible troops who will fight valiantly. And every day I'm sending a single random person to their death to fight the Frost Giant. So calm down, and give me all your money. I assure, it'll be much easier for both of us.

when you and your enemys are at the same time on 0 points, then the leven continues but you dint have an army and must kill everything with the archers. YOU ARE INDESTRUCTABLE!! until the next Level, then your army is back

some things I found that helped:
- upgrading an island resets the tax-unhappiness
- you can tax islands 20 times every round (I think I got in trouble only once, but all it does is reduce the island level by 1, you don't have to go reconquer it)
- if you go fight a new island, win one battle, then click pause and go back to map - you can immediately tax again. easy way to farm some gold.

Wasn't a bad game I enjoyed most of it. It kinda became a grind and I stopped paying attention for the most part whenever I'd complete a level I'd just randomly click upgrades without looking and just kept my army mixed evenly I was spamming most abilities as soon as they pop unless there's just a few enemies left. If you make a sequel consider weapon/armor drops from the chests they gave bad $ and mostly just seemed like a way to recharge abilities, a x2 speed button or at the very least cut a few seconds off of the start and end of the map and more bosses would be cool too.

Second medium badge is pretty easy. I was level 30 when I got it. Had 3 beer guys and the rest hammers. These are my levels: Beer: 19, Hammer: 25, Arrow: 4, Catapult: 4, Bombs: 3.

SPOILER ALERT: To beat boss- become level 32 which = 36 troops. Use 5 beer barrel guys-max leveled and 31 hammer guys- level 23 or up. Spells: arrows-level 2. rocks-level 3 and fire bomb level 2.

I barely finished the second last level. No upgrades, run for the final... and ended up with 5xxx hp left. That final battle is... well... not very final battle...

I have killed the boss with 40 of everything, from 40 Thors taking about 25~ seconds to the skirmishers and the basic vikings almost losing and taking 80~ seconds. boss is a little too easy to beat, so buff him up.

Me not reading and remembering. I find there is no way to tell the viking type names except memorizing them from the tutorial. So which ones are chiefs again? :(

Chiefs FTW. Add 1 of each other vikings for the skills and you're good to go. Some levels after you transfered to chiefs maybe lost, but after your chiefs get some upgrades, they'll cut through your enemies, even the boss.

Well phooie. The completionist in me is annoyed. I've captured all the islands except for the final island, but I can't reset my villagers anger by attacking it, the boss doesn't give any gold on defeat, and I still have 2 types of troops that are not Lv. 25 (Max) level. So I'll either have to make my villagers so angry they riot and I retake the islands and get gold that way, or I won't end up with all maxed units and support abilities. :( On the other hand, what Nightwynde said is true, the boss IS much each than the final islands. Just spam all abilities at the beginning of the fight, and sit back and watch.

Somehow archers with tiny bows are able to shoot what seems to be an extremely long distance. Oh, and miniature catapults too.

Nothing is more thrilling than watching people walk. The bonus walking after the last fight on an island is what makes this game extra special.

Although the game advises against it, you can get away with tyranny scott-free. Once you level up, you can never level down again, and rebellion doesn't actually take away from your gold either. So although you can get 21 taxes in before people start revolting, you can actually get the most value between each map by leveling up and then taxing everyone until they all refuse to pay you.

The numbers lie! I had one dude left with 26 manpower (or whatever the bar at the top of the screen is), and he got attacked for 11 and died.
