This game reminds me a lot of Runescape Classic, was that your inspiration?
Either way, I only had to play for 5 minutes before I was absolutely hooked. This is a beautifully made game, despite the few bugs here and there. The tutorial does an excellent job of helping you get your bearings in the game, the music is very pleasant to listen to, and the experience rates seem fair. If I could rate it a 6/5, I would.
I would really like to see some updates to the GUI, however. Currently the system is very clunky, trying to open the inventory to use everything and having it close sometimes when you don't want it to. Perhaps you could implement some kind of tab system so that a specific tab you want to be open all the time can be opened? I think that would improve gameplay a LOT, even though it is a simple thing.
I would also like to see a larger map size. A 13x13 grid just seems a little small, especially when there is so much unused space surrounding it.
Hi! Thank you for kind words. 13x13 grid can be turned into a fullscreen if you go to menu -> Enable mods -> (Enable all of them) -> Options -> Fullscreen Mode(on)

I get that you don't want people botting, but when I'm playing a game, and something comes up, I need to take care of it. If I come back and there is a captcha threatening to ban me, I'm done. Which is really too bad, because aside from them I would like the game. If they gave the bonus with no ban threat, that'd be better, but it's still terrible you thought that was a good idea.

I noticed if you inspect an obj (npc or other) you lose the ability to use the left mouse button for almost all functions. However, it appears this does not always happen.

Alright, whenever I try to make a bronze dagger, and I set the items up like they show on the wiki and in the forging instructors description, it doesn't show me a make button. I have 14 forging. I also cannot close the forge menu unless I walk away. I have asked in game and basically been told you just do it lol. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me in learning to forge please.

Really impressed with this game has a slight nostalgic feel for some older games i used to play this is only my 3rd day but hving 50 cooking and 50 fishing is a blast. Thank you for making this game i enjoy it quite a lot

Shit game. Grind for hours to get woodcutting up, and still only end up with a 47% chance to chop a level 1 tree at 22? Then have a captcha on so you can't even go cook some steak while waiting through the painful grind? Runescape isn't even that shitty.

Would be nice to have a NPC in each tutorial zone that you can sell to because I ran out of back pack space and could not try all the tutorials.
Also on the note would be nice if same items would stack except for armors, weapons, ext. (thing you ware or use [example fishing pole])

Great game especially in a beta. I feel all the good things I enjoyed from runescape but its so simplistic I don't feel like I have to stress at all. Love it can't wait to see more from it.

Being old school myself, I'm satisfied with the retro graphics. Enjoying this: for me a game doesn't necessarily have to be innovative, as long as the gameplay is good and balanced etc. - looks good so far :)

So here I am, going through the first few areas, think to myself, this might be a fun game. I start fishing, realize it's a perfect idle skill and scroll down to the comments to look for anything interesting. I see a post where someone is banned from a game for 7 days for something posted in caps. Makes me not want to play... if anything... MUTE someone for 7 days for something said in chat deemed inappropriate, but to prevent someone from playing a flash game for 7 days seems completely out of line. All you will do is chase people away. After reading this, your first order of business should be banning the mod who abused his powers...
Just for your information, he was not banned for writing in caps. He told moderators to go f themselves after being warned for using caps :) in a very spammy way

I think farming needs a little more incentives to want to level it up. I think the new seeds is a step in the right direction but I still think it needs more. Maybe make it so you get more and more of the product per seed or that it grows faster as you level up

love the game, great style of play and never ending stats.Only prob is just a few Mods in the game are over zealous to point of abuse. example,(bmw9191) i use caps 1 time as an expression and not silenced but banned after coming back after an hour mad(who wouldnt be with no explanation). guess it wouldnt be a poblem you care about cept im a paying customer and believe that a ban should be decided by the main man or at least 3 Mods not on a power trip(MANY other players wanted to understand what happened to me too for the record and did not agree)the point is that unless im cheating, a ban is way to harsh(was told 7 days on forum and bmw9191 has done this WAY to many times ive read). point is if you want a successful game that pays, you cant ban the people (especially who pay) for a comment(at most maybe 7 day ban on talking, let the crime fit the punishment)that was nothing more than CAPS 1 time, your gonna lose more than you gain. rate game 5 with Mods 2.8

Its alright, but it just reminds me of a less animated runescape. Potentially could be kinda popular, it's not for me though. Better than half the dumped crap on steam at least. I really do hope you guys polish things up, and if I may offer an idea, possibly allow inventory to just stay open. like really i hate having t hover. But yeah, nice to kinda have a generic mmo like runescape to show up in kong.

Sometimes the wrong text shows up while you're doing something (ex: says smelting when digging/mining, says loot: copper when it's sand, etc).
Could it be a lag issue? Were you mining copper before sand? Maybe your chat was scrolled into wrong position? Try enabling mods and doing the /ping command.

One point that made me dislike the game is how similar it is to Runescape. I've already played this game and it has taken me years to get where I am. I don't feel like doing that all over again for a - and forgive me for saying this - downgraded version. If only I could feel the game is more different than Runescape, I would be hooked. Unfortunately I'm not hooked because of my past with Runescape. I'm not about to waste years ever again like that and this game seems to require that in order to excel; just like Runescape.
Overall, you have a great game here. I like how I can run around pressing directional buttons. It's a vast game and well place together.

Visual: The retro-feel isn't what we are used to, however, it words perfectly for this massive world we are playing in. The looks will probably not attract younger players as the description says, but that's OK. This game is more complex, thus better understanding of the game is required to extract the most from it. The retro-look also has a very soft impact on modern computer hardware. This means load times are expected to be very low and lag is to be at a minimum. One detail that is missing from the visuals is animation. I would love to see animation when my character is swinging his dagger. Or when a rat jumps up to attack my character. Plot: There isn't a plot! Is the team intending to create a story to follow? Is this simply a "Here's your stop, good luck!" kind of game?

I like the idea of an MMORPG that mixes a huge world with retro-looking graphics. The idea works well. Plus, the already existing Runescape platform this is built from makes it an interesting-time investing game. Down to the details, considering this is still in beta mode and I've only played the tutorial: Sound: The sound sometimes disappears, however, when it is present, it's fine. Allow the soundtracks to change when in combat, entering another room or stage of the game.

I don't know if it's been said already or not, but this game bears striking resemblance to _old_ Runescape. I'm talking "Back-in-the-90's-2d-graphics-Runescape" Runescape. Not that that's a terrible thing, as I owe that game quite a lot for opening my eyes to mmorpgs...It just feels as though it's been done before.

I have noticed that the sound effect for fishing disappears sometimes. I had just gone into the menu and turned off the music, and the sound for fishing went away. It didn't come back when I turned the music back on and stayed gone when I turned sound effects off then back on.

It's kind of funny how everyone's complaining about the captcha. I don't exactly love it, but if you are playing at all seriously you should be fine. Just solve the ones that come up and don't spend the points they give you. that way if it comes up while you're gone you don't go into the negatives. It's not like they come up multiple times without you touching the game.

The only thing I'd say is when you fail at cooking, the ingredients don't just disappear. Give us something for the attempt, I'd say it would have a 25% chance of hurting you, 25% chance of healing you or 50% chance of doing nothing.

I actually do enjoy this game, even though it's very grindy and I don't really feel like having a dedicated Kong server would serve any good purpose, as even though there are players that have played over a year already, those players can't do anything that would crush new players and are even generally willing to give advice to the new players. The one think I would is a more thorough explanation of game mechanics (Houses? Pets? Other stuff that I probably still don't know about?) and something of a more advanced quest system or achievement system would help give direction, although the openness of the options you have is actually a big plus for me. Overall I personally feel like the game is good, but also recognize that alot of people will dislike it because of the grindiness. I do hope that the Kong community is able to put in some new life and maybe even give reasons for some updates to improve certain things in the game.

What I said about the captcha still stands. Quite honestly its a foolish way to try to implement anti-botting. If a script kiddie really wanted to bot this game, there are numerous anti captcha services he could use for roughly a penny per captcha. So ultimately all you do is annoy actual players. Theres no reason that I should have to stare at the screen while doing something mindless like fishing - let me look away for 5mins while it accomplishes its task.
