Which brings me to the hitboxes of your own ship: they're pretty friggin big. One of the later bosses shoots out a pattern that is simply impossible to dodge due to the gaps not being big enough. Either you have enough Bullet-Blaster bombs or enough life to tank it out. All in all it's just a mediocre rehaul of the franchise. 3/5

Like others said, there's really nothing ultimate or new about this one compared to the previous entries (with the sole difference that this is made in Unity). I've finished all 100 levels on Hard and gotten all 900 stars, and here's my two cents. A good thing about this game it that it is not grindy. That bonus point however is swiftly taken away by the simple fact that the game is very, very tedious. There's just too many levels and they're all pretty much the same. The game runs pretty smoothly and controls like you'd expect. It is, however, very annoying that the plain just simply stops when your mouse leaves the game borders. Also, binding your special attack to Spacebar in an otherwise Mouse-Only game is kinda a no-go. Yes, there is a Special Attack button which you can press with your mouse, but have fun flying through the 5 bullets that just happened to be between the button and your current mouse position.

EVERYBODY LISTEN .... read .... I'm at MAP 40 and I have progress at 0,39%. In previous Notebook wars ... I could upgrade weapons to LVL30 ... now it's only 10.
So there's obviously so much more hidden. Just keep playing. I'm sure this would be ULTIMATE Notebook wars :)

Minor efficiency observation: complete any level on Hard mode, and it will automatically grant you any and all completion stars for lesser difficulties. Only tested 3-star completions, because after all, Hard... is not. Made the playthrough very much swifter.

Mmm... I like the opportunity within the mechanism of level-grinding, so the arbitrary 'do the same level three times' is not game-breaking. This is comparable to a Games8/R2 re-skin of every previous game, but the only significant change is the overwhelming variety of monumentally unaimable weaponry. The drudgery of grinding through until able to purchase a vehicle with more than one weapon slot makes all of those tiresome "wheee, look at Random Firing Gun #10!" more irritating than screen-blanketing, making all of those early slots futility incarnate. Absolutely nothing new, and the shift to Unity only benefits mobile gaming. Neither in any way 'ultimate' nor 'one of the best shooters'... not even the best in this series. Yes, everything is still hand-drawn; no, that was never more than an incidental gimmick. Either innovate, or stop the resurrection-desecration cycle.

Nice game! I finished it.
Some bugs:
- level required to buy planes,
- some accesories dont work, like damage and money.
mm maybe any "Congratulations! You beat the game!" Or something like that would be nice ;). Nothing, is sad!

The only difference between easy, normal and hard are the hitpoints of the enemy ships. you still die in a few shots and after getting hit you have no invincibility so you dont get hit multiple times in a row. sadly this is 1/5. such nonesense was barly ok 3 years ago.

It's just boring. No plot, repetitive gameplay, several annoying features. And the "Little Helper that shoots enemies" is pretty much useless, blindly shooting at nothing every second or two, meaning 95% misses.

Is there a way to select next level after completed current one? It is pretty tedious to click the World, then click the stage after finishing each stage, especially for finishing older stages in different level
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah, if the level 41 boss could stop flying behind the magical bullet protection wall of the status bar so I can actually kill him in a reasonable amount of time, that would be great.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why do we have to click what world we want to play after every level? its annoying. and so is the status bar at the top, we cant see the enemies hat are coming after us until they are already hitting us

2 things - it's hard to tell how far left/right i can go. it's not to the edge of the screen, and the border is marked. also - turning down the music/fx all the way doesn't affect the first 2 seconds or so of boss music

The color of enemy projectiles does not stand out enough in my opinion. The design choice is quite poor, since everything from your own bullets to the ships to the moving background elements are colorful and stand out, while the enemy projectiles are just a dull red that slips under the visual radar. It makes it incredibly difficult to keep track of them when there are so many other things going on at once that call attention to themselves.

Ok, now my game is in english. Ok, now my ship is where the mouse is. Ok, I love a lot Notebook War games and so my stars up from a ugly 1/5 to a shiny 5/5. Ok dev, thanks for the fun!

Even though I have sound and music set to zero, a sounds plays during the "Boss Incoming" notice on boss levels (and it is loud!)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In a bullet hell game I prefer enemys projectiles to be better visible than mine. In this geme of the Notebook series it's somehow not the case, so I get hit way too often.

The "You can upgrade" popup really gets annoying after a while. Why do we need this at the beginning of every battle?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I don't know why, but I can't even play this game since the ingame mouse just stucks in the left upper corner of the game all the time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really enjoyed the first games but the choice of Unity virtually guarantees that I won't be playing this one, at least not until I'm desperate enough to bother opening/updating Firefox.
Now, I've read the comments and know that the developer has an OpenGL version available but it's too large for Kongregate. Given that my iPhone will let me download 100 MB apps over cell networks, maybe Kongregate needs to up its limit for games beyond 50 MB.
Sure, data is money but if Kongregate wants the best games and to have them be broadly compatible, it's time to move the chains.

It seems like the reward for completing harder difficulties is actually *less* than completing a level on Easy-mode. I love these games, but this one is a little bit annoying :\

It has already been mentioned that planes can be bought before they "should be" available. I'd also like to point out that if the mouse is a control option than linking the special to one of the mousebuttons makes sense. Otherwise it is mouse+keyboard.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
First a bug: you can buy and equip ships before the level they're supposed to be unlocked.
Second the bad things: the mouse cursor far from the ship and the ship moving to the middle when cursor leaves play screen makes controlling awkward; there should be a hotkey for using the bombs; I'd like the option to change language instead of it changing automatically.
Third the good stuff: good amount of ships and weapons; you can upgrade each weapon and it makes a difference; lots and lots of levels.
It's a pretty good game as it is but if you address some of the problems myself and others are having it would be the best notebook wars game yet.
PS - if you make a webgl version upload it as a separate game please.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, a new notebook wars!!! yay... until you play. Movin the plane is annoying, the thing does not what i want. leave it on mobile devices and please don't present it here. Especially beacause most players here know how good your games can be. 2/5 (one star for the funny translations)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I can't chance the language and the translation in my country language is so bad :-D. Ok, sadly my first 1/5 rating for a Notebook War game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Doesn't really feel 'ultimate'. Very few planes, and having to unlock them is disappointing. It's okay, but kinda boring compared to the others.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
loved notebook wars 1-3 (5/5) - this one, sadly, not only does not show anything new, but even feels a bit of a step back (limitation to ships buying, no 'rage' mode (whatever it was called), 'loading screen' after clicking each menu button, etc)
overally, nice shooter, but having played previous versions - only 3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So much negative comment. And all of the positive comment was down-rate. What's wrong with you people? This game came out new, you should be expecting lots of bug and glitch.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The game needs some improvements: First, the difficulty settings don't seem to change the stage difficulty much, and the coin dropped by enemies seem to be the same. Second, the fourth ship can be bought before stage 25. The game needs more tweaking
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Unity compiled without webgl. Can't play it. HEY DEVS: Stop making games that most peopel can't play.

Dec 2015: chrome has 68% marketshare. Why are you making games that 68% of the browser market can't play?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
damn I hate these freakin' mobile adaptations!!!! Why not mousepointer AT the aircraft?!? And why the F does it move back to the middle everytime the pointer gets of screen?!?!? It sux playing on a cell, STOP IT!!!!! I blame you for metro!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
anyaway, the only thing i found so far is that if you move the mosue way to one side, instead of staying in the border, the ship goes automatically to the middle, which kinda sucks
