Just scored 8829 without really getting a good shot off. Keys: aim really low, use freaky first, then 3 thrusts in quick succession, then 3 skis and the last 2 freakys. After you've filled those, get your cannon boosts, then the style points. 8000s are easy this way and a good shot will get 9000.

nice game, could have more upgrades maybe? But how the hell do u get in the 17,000's ?!?! i still cant figure ouy how ppl are in the 9000's! Buying everything, i con only get about 7500! why? what am i doing wrong?

For getting through the game, you have to choose the upgrades wisely - getting the most expensive thing you can afford isn't always the best option.
To get past the latter rounds, you've got to get enough money along the way to buy enough upgrades. This means, that, to start with, after the first round, you should afford to buy 1 freaky.
The freaky on round 2 will allow you to get past 500m, which will give you a nice bit of money - now you COULD afford two freakys, but is that really the best option? You can do better than that... I'll leave it to you to find out how.
With the right purchaces to maximise your length potential each round, by the time you get to froggy, if you've done well in your shooting and aiming, it's possible to even have enough money to already afford ALL upgrades.

17575!!!!!!!!! That's almost double the distance that the #2 on the highscore list has got. Pirrimaison's done something quite bizarre it seems - is he/she a beneficiary of some rare bug or is there some completely unique tactic in the game that the rest of us haven't thought of?

Realy a nice funny game. It's true, you have to earn the necessary money in the first 3 levels, otherwise there is no more chance. Sometimes the game is a little bit stumbling, a few times i lost the game because of that.

fantastic game,
start off with the thrusts, then when you have 2 start using the skis, then when you have 2 of them use the freakys!
thats what won me it :)

Kioyoh: me too, although I have gotten as high as 9590 with FFFTTTSSS, so I think that in fact freaky has very little affect on your horizontal speed.

umm i need help i finally go throught the guy that is avg 1200 i cant get past 2500.
any sugestions?
im using 3 freakys

What this game CRITICALLY lacks is a way to mute the sounds. Every single game should have that basic feature. I'd like to listen to music while playing, but the sound effects ruin the experience.

a fun little game, mamanmged to get 8500 as best but the cannon meter wasnt at full, i guess it'd be fun to try and get top score but meh, anyways, needs a practice function or something after you beat it so you can just go after distance

Ehtiro: yeah, I also think that strategy might be optimal. The highest I've scored without decorations is 9218, so it may be possible to get north of 9700. I would be surprised to see anyone get over 10k. In the next few days someone will probably hit the optimum distance, and this game will be solved. I don't yet have a model of how freaky affects your horizontal speed. If he increases your horizontal speed, FFFTTTSSS should be better, otherwise FTTTSSFF should be better.

Low&Hard + Freaky + 3 boosts + skis + freakys seems to be the "ultimate" recipe for highscores... With a perfect botton direction max speed launch the only thing to worry about is to not crashland when you come down... Its *pretty* fast...
Skis seemed bad at first... but they seem to work on a % of your last height bounce, meaning that skies after a 3 thrust flight goes really really high. When you get there, freakys just don't cut it, they seem to give you height based on a set amount + gunpowder level instead...

Nice concept with a surprising amount of "complexity". I put it in quotes because I think ultimately a fair amount of experimentation will determine the truly best strategy. Still, very nice for a flash game. My biggest complaint is that it gets very slow - it takes so long on the later levels that I started to lose interest while in the air.

Very Nice HappyTron! I used your strategy Low&Strong, FTTTSSSFF. I actually scored 9100 w/o being customized on lvl 5.. so that would have beat you with the +500 were that lvl 6 or 7.. I did have $4800 left at the end which would be tough to beat... (although with some consistency, I could see someone having 6k or maybe even 7k if you get all 9000+ lvl 5,6,7.

there should be more lvls and diff modes and difficulties. buy freakys as you go farther in the game. then alternate buying skis with thrust so that you have same number of each. use all freakys and then use 1 ski. after that ski immediately use a thrust. do that with rest of skis and thrusts. buy the gunpowder when u get the money, and then the creativity.

I just got the top score at 9573, and thought I would comment on the theory as I see it. The boost seems to operate by adding a constant increment to your velocity in the upwards direction, so that your change in kinetic energy post boost is actually a function of your initial speed in the upwards direction (and not constant, as intuition might suggest). To obtain the most kinetic energy from a boost, it should always be used when your upwards speed is otherwise maximal, i.e., immediately after the canon, a bounce, or another boost. With this in mind, my strategy was to: fire as horizontally as possible, as the canon is the only(?) way of obtaining speed in that direction, bounce once with freaky followed immediately by 3 boosts in rapid succession, then bounce the rest of the way with the remaining skis and freaky's.

I actually used the exact same tactic as Beric - aim low, good power, 3 freakeys + boost, and then alternate ski and boost (while you're accelerating upwards). Just got onto the leaderboard with 8222 meters, so that tactic can't be too wrong. :)
One gripe about the game - the scoring system essentially means that nothing but the last round matters, as that's where your chances at getting the high legths lay.
I'd prefer a scoring system based on the cash you have at the end - that way the last round would matter the most, but the rest of the rounds would matter too.

7155 best. Mightytiny is right about the upgrades. don't pay for the permanent stuff until you can get 3 of everything else in addition to it.
I found that launching further foward than up worked best. Follow it with 3 freakys, then a boost, then a ski, boost, ski, boost, ski. That was my formula. But I'm sure there's some logic behind it all, I'm just not sure what.
But the above gave me the 7155 result, and that was on a really poor launch.

Just finished the game with 7073 meters - a few tips for beginners:
1. Always spend as much money as you've got on upgrades, they'll earn themselves back.
2. Don't bother with that permanent style-bonus upgrade untill the last round.
3. Air cans are best used while accelerating upwards from a bounce.

nice and fun game, a little difficult. I do have to say that I did not like the sound FX at all. I found it very obnoxious and repetitive

The levels are too jumpy 200 comp avg to 1200 ? its a well done but if u had the chance to make more money it might be funner
