how is it even possible that you were able to get an actual videogame on here that kinda seems illegal but i really dont care ive always wondered what doom 1 was like i never played it but i thought it was really good! any game that is an actual videogame i think deserves a 5/5

i hav all the dooms and they all hav "mouse aiming" but this game is still kool :P im sad theres no sound but this game is awseome kuz the old cheats even work on this game do u guys want to no them?

dude i dont care how far graphics go the doom series will always be the best computer game ever. The concept and idea is great the suspense is great. it keeps you on your tows a monster could pop out of nowwhere eaither behind you or anywhere and the bigger the monster the better. This game will always be a classic and should be on everysite

For f***'s sake people this is Modern Times with a little Metropolis thrown in for the sake of analogy (or I'm sure you film geeks could find better ones. Don't think it's Citizen Kane). Quit being so revisionist and appreciate it for historical value if nothing else.

Fix the save feature so it works because I got super far then had to get off. Not even ten minutes later i got back on and none of my progress was saved even though i saved it and entered my name.

this game always was a little chunky but it takes leaps with a brand new engin from scratch each game, so when you see doom 3 and hopefully doom 4(coming out in the future) the "OMG damn its scary" turns to quivering silently while you wet yourself

As for the legality: Source code was released publicly. Any modifications to it are legal. AFAIK, distribution including data files can ONLY be done with the demo, shareware data, which this game has. Therefore, no illegal content.

No code modifications? Obsolete menu options? No ability to switch key bindings? Put some effort into your port. Look at what some other groups have done with the source.

Extremely laggy on default settings with even a GeForce 7600GT PCI-Express card. Furthermore, changing the video settings from low to high or vice versa hoses graphics (weapon/hands disappear, and walls do not render correctly), then eventually drops a Flash error. I have the latest Flash 10 player. Bug reported, though I doubt it would do much good.

It's not illegal idiots. He Ported the freeware version of doom into flash. Freeware, as in free to play and download.
