Under rating threshold (show) For the extension, I think it would be cool if every couple of levels you unlocked perks that slightly alter the game, like a button that you can use once a run that shows you 1 event further, or that tells you how many events until your next dragon, or one that guarantees that the next event (that you can't see) will be a buff that you choose, or maybe even change the % chance on what buffs will come during the events (that one you'd have to choose before the run), maybe the final level could unlock a 2nd item slot. All in all loved the concept and had a great time playing; thanks for the game!

Under rating threshold (show) for those stating that the dragon is auto death, with less than top armor and sword, plus potion, I killed one, got another potion, and then at half health (plus potion), killed another. Its not undoable. To the dev, proof of concept WIN. I would love to see this as an RPG, with upgradable stats, maybe a slower progression of weapon and armor upgrades. I see a map with different paths that you take on taking quests, different hot spots that activate learning, gold, xp, side quests, besides the equipment upgrades, and a full story. (And, I am an author, if you're looking for a story, I'd be happy to write one for this game. )

Under rating threshold (show) Brilliant game! Exactly what I expected from the moment I clicked the game! Would love to see another one, except maybe 2 little guns that you can use to kill enemies before you fight them, and possibly an end to the running for a certain time so you can upgrade your guns and agility, but it'd ruin it if you upgraded the weapons and armour at the end of the day on it. Hope some of these suggestions work if your thinking of another game like this!

Under rating threshold (show) Well, the dragon is a nuisance. It means that the game has randomly decided to kill you. Why not instead create optional encounters - monster lairs? (The lairs would contain big treasures guarded by a strong monster - do you dare enter? The ultimate, of course, would be a dragon's lair.) As for leveling up - perhaps use the upgrade mechanic known from other flash games? (upgrade attack, defense, lifespan, etc.)

Under rating threshold (show) So, not only are we fighting enemies, we are fighting time itself. day 2, being attacked and losing 500+ HP per hit against me....Day one, the rock monster didn't do as much as 100. Waht an increase over just one day.

Under rating threshold (show) As with the guy before me, Score should check in game var's such as time, money spent, etc to validate if a score is reasonable and not a Hax. The dragon should have another Icon. and % of [building] appearing should change based on the current situation. Running past 3 Shrines in a row is ridiculous >.<

Under rating threshold (show) Great game but a few major draw backs. 1) Not enough gold from enemies at higher levels. 2) Needs a signifigant warning for the first dragon. A glowing monster icon would be preferable. 3) As prefeviously said, nerf the freaking dragon. 4) As said again, levels affecting the game. 5) The addition of small towns with an entrance fee of 300 increasing in intervals of 75. - Have one time usage armor shop. (not free, but slightly cheaper than regular) - Same with weapons shop. - Same with shrines. - Restores lifespan up to 40% lifespan when entering town. 6) Beter tutorial instructions. 7) Remove the damn clapping track. -_- 8) Different wepaon skins. Other than that, it's great.

Under rating threshold (show) I can see some interesting potential in this game, the kind of fast-paced decision-making thing that it is. Perhaps the idea could be developed into something like the way half-minute hero goes, with several different, brief quests that each have their own setting, complete with unique monsters. Maybe a simple overarching storyline to explain what's going on (and make it more like a proper RPG in a good way). It would be interesting to have a party instead of a single hero, or possibly different selectable heroes with their own unique abilities related to the gameplay. Of course I'm only saying this stuff because my first reactions have already been expressed by other commenters, and it's been suggested the developer is thinking about expanding the idea.

Under rating threshold (show) Dunno what happened to my last comment. the missing part is You CAN beat a dragon even without a elixir. I did. Just need to think a bit and have some luck (ended up with 2 hp) And the idea of rewards for leveling up is a good idea.

Under rating threshold (show) Good game. A bit hard, which is good, because nowadays people want games that win themselves. To all who say - You can't beat a dragon without divine sword. d be great. And also changing the visuals of your weapon and armor would be cool. And the last of all, have you thought about adding some rhythm-like minigames? (Final fantasy 8 - Squalls Limit break, or the game osu!)

Under rating threshold (show) Could it be the case that the game adapts to your style of playing? That is, when you use many soul shrines in one game, it will display even more of them in the next game? The same the other way around: When I didn't get around to using voucher stores for a while (not enough money T_T), they became less common. Actually, this is quite clever: The game automatically balances itself the more you play it! Is that the reason you say it's an "experiment"?

Under rating threshold (show) Dragons should make their appearence since day 15, and they should appear at 5 battles each other, it's not the dragon what kills you, it's the second dragon what kills you. Also add something to notice dragons from any other thing, i was saving for a voucher next a battle and i could bought a Divine Edge, it was Day 11 so i thought it could not be a dragon, but it was.

Yes, i stepped down the difficulty. Since your chance encountering dragons increases the more day you survive, you will still encounter them when you travelled far enough (although i really the increment and chance rate of encountering dragons).

Under rating threshold (show) I'm having a hard time enjoying it a whole lot when the money scale to items is not sufficient. I find I'm constantly not making enough money to keep up with the upgrades and getting into day 10 and further gets harder and hard that I constantly die to a dragon since I can't afford to keep upgrading at the same rate and I'm letting my soulshrines run to where i'm 5% then renewing so I'm not blowing money for no reason. I'm also not buying elixirs as often when I can avoid it and using my armor upgrades to heal me at the same time instead so I get a double use from it.

Under rating threshold (show) Day 11 near full health, breastplate equipped, Katana equipped, Divine edge coming up, Golden ticket right behind it.......... screeching halt as a dragon makes his appearance. The dragons are still impossible to kill without the divine edge and putting 1 right BEHIND the dragon wasn't rubbing salt in the wound, it was covering my whole body in open cuts then dumping me in a barrel full of salt and closing it. In any case, I am getting further so some of the tweaks made some difference.

Under rating threshold (show) @Mintsphere basically what the people want is an upgrading system. we expected that each successive run will be definitely easier (and enjoyable) than the previous. a lot of ways to implement this. eg. you can either use the points gathered to spend on upgrades. you can start with base attack power increase or base armor/hp increase or gold gain increase.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from Mintsphere

I'm sorry we can't add that in the update because it strays from the game's "One-shot" concept. Besides, it will corrupt everyone's savefile (because plenty of new unprepared variables added)... We promise we WILL have upgrade system in the extension game though, you can have my words!

Under rating threshold (show) Other ideas for upgrades, either by achievements or in a future game: 1) HP regeneration over time. 2) A fourth preview slot for future encounters. 3) Longer lifespan. 4) Some lifespan recovery upon kills. 5) Criticals and/or randomly activated skills the knight uses in battle. 6) Increased running speed. And while I'm at it, I think these could be cool: 1) More than one building on the screen at once, some further in the background than others, parallax style. 2) Uncommon buildings like an inn to recover HP for 50 gold, methods of acquiring my suggestions for upgrades above, free "teleports" which re-roll the upcoming buildings if you don't like them, and any other interesting building ideas. 3) Knight experience points so that she levels up for lesser stat bonuses (always starts at level 1 at the beginning of a run). Great idea for a game, and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future.

Under rating threshold (show) I love it. I think it could benefit from making the encounters just a little bit less random, though. Here's some ideas: 1) No gold ticket shops at the beginning before you've had at least three encounters. 2) No consecutive soulshrines. 3) Every dragon encounter preceded by a divine edge shop within 15 locations before it. 4) Odds of hitting weapon/armor/potion shops increase the longer it's been since you've seen one. I also think you should change the battling slightly: 1) Knight always attacks first. 2) Fewer "enemy attacks more than once" and more "knight attacks more than once" scenarios. Adjust the enemy HP accordingly if you need to, but it's more gratifying to see the knight attacking more often. Attacking first/more also increases the value of swords in a very noticeable manner.

Under rating threshold (show) There is no point to leveling up besides getting points. Your damage doesn't increase, your defense doesn't increase, your attack speed doesn't increase, your starting gold doesn't increase. Nothing helps you beat the game by leveling up. But, golly gee! I sure have a bunch of points! Too bad the game is pointless, pun intended. I took a phone call in the middle of a game for three minutes, didn't do anything, and was still alive. Pointless.
