Under rating threshold (show) This is a very cool logic puzzle type game. It kept me guessing but I was hoping perhaps for a bit more contrast as some of the others are as well. I will be playing this game for a good long while.

Under rating threshold (show) good concept but needs penalties and way more space for the larger ones. also would like way more puzzles. Better ones too. good game overall 4.

Under rating threshold (show) My eyes hurt. I like the concept and the music is relaxing. But, I was hoping for puzzles with more colors. Also, the general layout of the game is cluttered considering there isn't enough space to see everything at the same time.

Under rating threshold (show) Loose the silver color asap (readability is too low due to low contrast) and make the replace the jumpy numbers overlapping the cells and eachother top left by giving them a fixed position. Also make the lines of 5x5 blocks a little thicker. Counting in blocks of 5 is a pain in the buttox b/c low contrast

Under rating threshold (show) I've done all the puzzles through Master, none require guesswork. Some require the coin to get it started, and some require some complex logic and keeping track of restrictions from different rows and columns, but they are all solvable and quite fun. I agree with the complaints about the layout. Larger puzzles become cramped, but there's a lot of dead space used to make it look pretty. It would be nice if large puzzles took over more of the screen, instead of having to make everything so small.

Under rating threshold (show) I think this is a really fun game. The reason it doesnt have a higher ranking is because a lot of kongregate users don't have the brain power to play this. =(

Under rating threshold (show) I retracted 2 stars because the grand master ones are REALLY badly made. Compounded by the terrible GUI, they are nearly impossible to do without going blind.

Under rating threshold (show) Need to expand the numbers so you can see the numbers and the whole grid. Once the grid starts getting filled in, numbers become VERY hard to see. Also need to stay away from hard to see colors/numbers

Under rating threshold (show) you guys complaining about the guesswork - you know how to use the coin, right? If you carefully plan your use of the coin, they can all be solved using only logic. Well, I haven't done the last 6 of the grandmaster puzzles yet, but all the ones up till now I haven't had to guess on.

Under rating threshold (show) I do like this kind of puzzle, completed all of them. And this one is beautiful in many ways but I'd suggest not using silver in the future as the clues are very hard to see especially in the larger puzzles where the clues intrude on the grid. In fact, once you can't keep the whole puzzle on the screen it is a real pain to fill in and see what you're doing. Took a lot of the fun out of it.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game, but way too confusing on the 20x20 and up. If you zoom out to get all the squares to show, it is too small. If you zoom in so you can see, it is too difficult to keep track of the numbers.

Under rating threshold (show) For anyone getting this game RIGHT, I really advice you to switch to free mode in the options. The game becomes much more fluid and funny. And the little UI glitches become way less frustrating since you can undo stuff without penalties.

Under rating threshold (show) Is using the "What if" function to test options considered "guess work"? Has anyone solved them all without using it? I'm on grandmaster now, but I also used the coin a few times, and I never figured out how to do the "sea-themed" expert puzzle without it.

Under rating threshold (show) Actually, I have found a puzzle that it seems you have to guess on. I confirmed this with a solver app; it could not go past the first few steps without bruteforcing. The puzzle is "small wrench" in the Journeyman section.

Under rating threshold (show) Some of you are saying that there are puzzles can't be solved with pure logic. Maybe you just don't see all the logic that you can use. One thing that took me a while to get is that if you have, for example, 7 empty squares in a row, and 5 of those have to be filled, then you can fill in the middle 3, because you know that those ones are going to be filled no matter where the 5 blocks begin and end. so what we can do is this: OOXXXOO where O represents an empty square and X represents the squares we can fill because if the 5 blocks are to the very left, then you get this: XXXXXOO and if they're to the very right, you get this: OOXXXXX so as you can see, the middle three will be filled no matter what.

Under rating threshold (show) @Anyone complaining about "Guess work" I'm 'far' from a genius and even I can tell there's absolutely NO guess work involved, if you honestly look at it. You're just being lazy and not willing to think things through. Is it obscenely hard? Heck yes. Is it impossible to do without guessing? Absolutely not. 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) @nano - another way to look at it. Bottom row starts with 4 browns at some point. By looking at the column labels, you know that brown can only be at the bottom of 5 of the columns, so you know those first four brown MUST be somewhere in the first 5 squares of the bottom row.

Under rating threshold (show) Nano, you are an idiot. The 8 out of 15 spaces does not only fill the middle one because there are not 15 columns of green. Try becoming smart, then attempt this game when you are OBSERVANT AND METHODICAL. Kthxbai.

Oct. 17, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) @nano - I went back and looked at that puzzle, you're not taking into account that like colors will be grouped together. First few columns are only red squares, and for those columns, all the reds are grouped in the lower columns. From there, you can figure out that lower left corner, then that will carry you through the rest.

Under rating threshold (show) I have done all the puzzles, no guesswork, but sometimes I had to use the coin, otherwise I would have to trace through trial and error. If I would make one suggestion, make so the scrollwheel changes color, and possibly to space filler. For those having trouble with seeing all numbers at once or running onto the board, align the non number edges of the board to the edges of the screen, I think it's A* 3 and W * 3.

Under rating threshold (show) The main example I have a problem with is Expert 8 (middle row on the far right)(don't want to say what the pic is) where as far as I can see the only definite is the middle one that's the 8 row, where one greem block is definite. the next biggest line is the row " '3',3,1,2" which adds to 11. In order for any of the squares of the '3' sections to be guaranteed this row would need to add up to 13(out of 15) I would love to know what the second non-guess logical step is for this puzzle. If someone can explain it to me then I will know once and for all which logical technique I am missing and I will re-rate this game back up from 1 star and apologize for moaning, but as I've looked again now and re-drawn the extreme possibilities for every line to look for overlaps and come up blank again I am more and more convinced that in that puzzle there is no logical second step(besides giving up and rating 1 star, which is what I did)

Oct. 17, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) @otter why did you have to use the coins though? I've had to use coins before but they aren't a legitimate way of solving pictocrosses usually. I've now realised that in some cases the nearest I can get to logic is switching to free mode and using trial and error, which I hate doing. I enjoy the challenge of working out definite squares, noticing where gaps must go and working that way, and I've done quite a large amount of these in the past both on websites and on Picross on the DS and I've never had to guess, but I fail to agree that this version never requires guess work, and I include using coins as a non-legitimate substitute for guesswork.

Oct. 17, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) @natter91 that's what I was saying though lol. The only square I could fill in was the middle one. I do the thing where you add up the numbers and then the gaps between them(where relevant) and apart from that 8 line the nearest I could get was a line with among other things a 5 in it that totalled 10, meaning that even in the group of 5 none of the squares were definites. All the other rows and columns consisted of 2s and 3s adding up to at most 10-12, meaning that again none of the squares were definites. so I don't understand how it could be done. In the end I did the level by making one guess at the start and working from that.

Oct. 17, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) @Nanostronghold -- There are quite a few ways to at least begin a line, although a lot of it gets rather...far out, sometimes. But, if you were talking about an 8 in a line of 15, then you can be sure that at least the middle square of the line is part of the eight. You've got to think about it for a while.
