@ Helix777: Why go for sheer lenght when your average Petrucci solo easily gets you to a 4000 hit combo? ;) /// @ jasoncody: Not bad! "Everything went numb" also made for quite an interesting level, good variety, lots of chargers (and it's one of my favourites from streetlight manifesto)

Wonderful idea, 5/5. Often laugh if I have own music on in background whilst playing a game and it fits, but with this it's perfect. Level ends at right time (Bit surreal pausing, and music 'pauses' too) I really hope that you run with this idea, Nerdook. As it is, it's fun to go 'Feel like song X, I'll give it a bash on Jacob+the 'copter' but would love to see you do this with a bigger game,Maybe a bigger version of this.(more upgrades, a story etc.?) Eg,between levels it could ask'which song for this level?'Then you could pick a Nerdook song or an MP3. Or players can whack their own album in there and keep a similar mood throughout the storyline. I also feel part of the game again. I panicked a little after the piano game, but this feels like a Nerdook :-) (P.S. It gave me an amazing level when playing to Rammstein's 'Sonne', BIG monsters lol. If you want a relaxing level with nice pace, try Ultravox's Vienna. Not very challenging but nice if you want a slowey with a good pace)

anyone want in intense song where anchovies are probably the least common enemy with rhinos and screamers being the most? "Watch It Crash" by Streetlight Manifesto.

@grimyl: that's a lot of "no offence" in one comment. ;) but of course, you are entitled to your own opinion! and 2/5 means it's the equivalent of dress up games. ORLY. :p

As much as I love Nerdook games the latest ones don't seem the best...I just feel as if they're rushed now and not as entertaining. This one, it has a great concept, but it was executed poorly in my opinion. It seems as if there is no real meat to the game, just the bare bones, a sneak peak at something greater. There is no real introduction to the game, which I love in Nerdook games, and the gameplay seems sub-par. The upgrades aren't really that great, it doesn't really tell you about the enemies and stuff. It's "Hey upload a song and start killing enemies! Oh and if you die you loose money you worked hard for and that not every enemy drops!". Again Im a huge Nerdook fan, but now it's just going downhill, no offense. I love the concept, but it isn't that great. If I want a great shooter I'll go play Upgrade Complete or something and turn on my own music. No offense, but 2/5 D:

If you want a perfect song to play this to, try Rhapsody in Blue. It's incredibly neat to be able to listen to it and see the effect on monsters, and it gives lots of cash.

Help please!
I've got 7 medals, 7 weapons, maxed out upgrades, a spot on the high scores list (26th as of time of writing) but I can't seem to be able to obtain the 8th weapon. Do I need to reset my game?

nerdook, instead of spamming your own comments with updates, put them in your "description" box, that way things that you say are lost within pages of low rated comments.

I spent 2 hours downloading all my favorite anime themes just to play them on this game. Then just for shits and giggles, I played Taylor Swift.

great idea for a game, never seen anything else like it
maybe more detailed indicators for volume and tempo increases, but very entertaining for each person's taste 5/5

I have this issue. All of my music in my Itunes folder and on my CDs is in a format that is not an mp3. Is there any way to convert them?

This is a great idea for a game but unfortunately the execution isn't equally awesome. Most modern song are the same volume level if they are mastered "correctly" (They shouldn't be the same volume for sake of dynamics but they are because that's what sells). Also, the tempo tracking isn't very accurate.

Not too bad for your first try at this, however the biggest annoyance to me is how slow the character moves. Upgrades for movement speed are almost essential.

My favourite of the music-themed games. Easy to play, costumizable difficulty by selecting songs, fun. I think 10 is a little low for a "difficulty" cap, but you could always choose some mean speedcore for that extra bit of bullethell ;)
