Under rating threshold (show) Woot! Max score is 439250. First playthrough unlocked nightmare difficulty. Second playthrough got that score. The key is fighting the daimyo as soon as you can kill him. I upgraded the samurai the most, and then the tank guy. Grabbed reduced sword damage, +damage to daimyos, regen on kill, attack multiple enemies, and 5% dodge as my permanent buffs. The first one ig rabbed was killing multiple enemies in one swing, that helps a ton. I only used energy to revive allies and throw daggers. Hope that helps other people.

Under rating threshold (show) Removing the option to grind was an excellent choice, makes the game more challenging and enjoyable. I hope you keep it like that in future games (at least as an optional choice or in harder difficulties)

Under rating threshold (show) I like that you can't grind past levels. Makes the game more strategic. It's very much still beatable. I just finished with all 5 achievements (stars) with a High Score of 58450. If you did better, reply to this :D

Under rating threshold (show) 378000, how's that for score? Average or? I used samurai and the brute, focusing on building samurai up, then brute a bit, but I bought the 2 other guys for the score star. Skills - tracking, slash (strike bunched up enemies), miner, chakra focus, shadow clone focus, bamboo armor, elite killer, att speed.

Under rating threshold (show) Managed to beat the game with an A ranking on the first try on normal... 3 defeats. It's not that hard once you get the hang of the mechanics since it's simple. Get as much XP at the beginning so you can unlock your troops and keep them around long enough. Get permanent upgrades that help you stay in it longer - health regeneration, chakra regen, multi strike, slayers, etc. Then it just becomes about luck - kill as many Mooks as you can and save as many rice fields as you can. Don't waste too many clicks farming silver and visiting monasteries like I did. If you're lucky you won't run into every booby trap and you'll be able to catch the daimyo alone.

Under rating threshold (show) I just beat the game with a high score of 67400 and an A+ rating. No it wasn't my first play through. My first time through was absolutely terrible! I only state this to show that it is more than possible to be successful in this game! I know it's challenging, I know it's difficult, but come on people! How often do you encounter a game that REALLY puts your skills to the test? Just try to beat the EARLY provinces with as many clicks left as possible and you'll get a TON of XP so that you can develop your team more fully.

Under rating threshold (show) I would like to have equipment while on battle like Healing Potion and The Samurai should have more skills such as Triple Shadow Clone

Under rating threshold (show) I don't normally comment on games, but this time I just felt the need to. This game has potential, in some ways, but it's bogged down by a couple of problems. For one thing, making a game challenging and making a game painful are two very different things, and I think that the enemies growing in number as well as getting buffs is a bit off putting. It feels like you're being punished for beating a province. It isn't so much a tactical game play mechanic as it is deciding which way you want to lose. And at least scale the silver reward somewhat better for higher difficulty enemies. Beating a stack of 18 enemies who cost me about a fifth of my health shouldn't only four experience and two silver. It just makes it harder to level up and actually survive. Like I said, the game has potential, but I just think it could be a bit less merciless in some ways.

Under rating threshold (show) It's...A bit too hard. Losing all my silver and exp after defeat is pretty harsh. And all the upgrades too? Yeesh! Fun game though.

Under rating threshold (show) @Sabuko...when you uncover mooks...kill them and you will have less to deal with when you find the daimyo...not to mention they give you exp and silver(can be used to purchase upgrades for your team before you fight the daimyo).

Under rating threshold (show) I found one weird thing, if you go over, lets say 700 hp for samurai and you go into battle i thought you can stick with over 700hp, but when you start dying you resets back to 700hp. i had like 816 hp and it reset.

Under rating threshold (show) anyone who's complaining this game is too hard just don't have the right strategy. Fact is, you die you lose. Get two allies and ONLY try to invest as much xp as possible into yourself to survive. This makes the game an ultimate piece of cake.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game. Here are some additional comments to the ones mentioned: 1) Enemies that spawn on your toon start attacking prior to the beginning of the round. 2) The damage by booby traps are simply crippling. 3) Companion heals by rice fields should be standard. 4) Monk needs to be revamped. The archer and warrior are much better buys. Other than that....it's a great game and a fresh concept. I look forward to the sequel.

Under rating threshold (show) Keeping upgrades after you failed level would made this game too simple, it's still pretty easy though. Personaly i don't enjoy game that I'm sure to win without any effort. I can't understand why peaple complain about difficulty, it's not impossible.

Under rating threshold (show) this is impossible, i cant even undo the upgrades i make to my samurai/companions plus if you choose the wrong upgrades fir your characters AND the ones you buy, fighting the Shogun will be impossible. At the moment, I am fighting Shogun and probably have died 6 times now ive killed most mooks having to fight only 34 of them during the fight against the Shogun yet all my Characters die its really irritating because my samurai loses health very quickly.

Under rating threshold (show) It's a shame that the greying out of buttons isn't really working properly; The buttons are still clickable and you even still have the possibility of trying to buy the upgrade in the market. Furthermore, sometimes ALL the buttons in the market are greyed out, even the ones I have the silver for.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game, and i really appreciate the puzzle twist. Otherwise, there´d be no challenge and you could just grind your way through the game. However, it could be emphasized in the game that you´re supposed to replay from the start is you get stuck.

Under rating threshold (show) Man, i just rly like nerdook games but this one is not as good as others... its pretty "luck" based and have a lot of little problems that makes the game more annoying than fun. For example, all health bonuses dont apply your allies, and getting all your silver/exp restarted after you were defeated just sucks... i mean i just played the same freaking stage like 5 times and still cant beat it becase my allies die often and cannot upgrade them (because i cant beat the stage). This is a sad day.. i found a not so good nerdook game... 2/5
