I'm pretty confused about the strategy in this game... do I want to burn all my clicks to get as many goodies as possible? I'm on the 2nd-last area, and I found the Daimyo in two clicks and he kicked my arse at 1000 hps... there were a million mooks. Never even saw the daimyo come out. Couldn't keep my archer alive for anything!

Once you get all the companions it is possible to make the game stop spawning enemies by making mass shadow clones, get 100% kill bar make 2 clones right away and then keep making them once you get 50 if you can get 5 or more it can start to glitch out

This is a pretty good game. Nerdook seems to be very good at devising minesweeper variants, and I hope to see more in the future.

@taijutsu i rather use slash+daggers at normal mode, works very good to me(insta kill two or three first bosses, almost kill+ kill minions on others.)

Once you get the hang of this one it's easy enough even without specific upgrades. Final score 333750 on my first nightmare run. Not too great at getting points but it's a decent game.
Like i said earlier though, An endless mode like in cluesweeper would probably be a good addition. Of course you would have to up the enemies power a little each round but nothing too unbalancing. I hope you do make a decent endless mode (If you make one) as i could see some variations not working so well.

I had to restart when I realized I couldn't grind to get all the upgrades. I like the challenge of trying to plan ahead, but maybe you could add a sandbox, or grind mode to make it easier to get an idea of what upgrades work so we don't have to restart when we've clearly chosen the wrong combo.
Great game! Yours always are!

beat on nightmare-get archer early and upgrade him, he does a loot of damage. upgrade samurais health and get defensive boosts for samurai and companions with silver. get brute when your ready and monk last. I liked daggers with dagger buff and chakra boost-daggers gain 20 chakra so you can use them always like this. Other than this, try to keep your men well rounded and focus on having the archer to most of your damage.

A tip since some don't seem to realize: the daimyo (and footprints, if you don't buy the upgrade) are not revealed when you click on a field next to it. You have to open the field itself. And as was said, the footprints make a path towards the daimyo.
As for taking the wrong upgrades... you should quickly learn which ones (not) to use. Then quit, remove save, and start again with a better plan. Kind of, gamer 101? Wouldn't be fun if everyone won on the first try.

most of us didn't understand how to find the daymon:
FOLLOW the footprint you find, tile by tile.
really challenging game with lots of possible strategy. 5/5, nerdook come back

Okay, grinding *really* needs to be possible, especially in an upgrade based game. I understand wanting to make it challenging, but given that the gameplay is almost entirely luck, there is definitely such a thing as too challenging. Or impossible. (Especially if you upgrade wrong.)

Great game save for the fact that it cant be beaten in all ways possible.I am forced to playstyles of wich i dont like.Despite that 3/5

Sure, there are "mines" (hidden dangers symbolized my tiles) and you "sweep" (clear out and identify dangerous from non-dangerous tiles) and their are potential hints in some tiles but having such vague "similarities" is far from justifying a claim to a semblance on Minesweeper. Just saying, coz I was mislead in my expectations because of that unnecessary comparison.

This game seriously needs an option to clear info - it is to burdensome to complete all stages just to reset defeat count...

the game sucks coz i killed all da dimoo things then reached da last stage and cant pass it and there is nothing to do (going to stages again to get gold /xp would be nice ) >:(

Keep in mind all, "Permanent Upgrades" are not permanent they only last till the end of a game... I wish i had known that.

Another awesome game by Nerdook! I love how each of your games is completely different, yet still a blast to play. Please keep it up! (Oh and THANK YOU for publishing to Kongregate Arcade too!!)

i went through the wanatabe level and when there was only one click and one tile i uncovered the last tile and saw a forest! What the heck was that?

Nightmare mode was the easiest one. I died a few times on easy and i died like hell on hardcore, but on nightmare on my first try i defeated them all. Monks dodge ftw!

Well, I'm not sure if I like this one. It tries to melt the gameplay of ninja games and mine sweeper, but it fails to do both. At the end, while some tweaks are enjoyable, I just felt I was just clicking on stuff. No action or strategy from the most famous ninja games, not even the planning from windows mine sweeper. On original mine sweeper you have just a 10/81 of randomness on the first click and the rest is just calculation basing on REAL clues. The footprints, as it has been said before, are somewhat misleading so the uncovering of the tiles is mostly random. Maybe it's just not my type of game, but seriously, sometimes trying to reinvent the wheel just makes you fall downhill.

At this point I'm pretty sure ol' Nerdook could release a game based around cleaning up dog droppings and it'd still be on my top 3 games of any given month. Although I would have been really interested to see Nerdook put something out the month Kingdom Rush was released and watched those two battle it out for the top spot. . . . . . . oh yeah and 5 stars, as if there was even a question.

Tip: If you're on one of the later levels and are out of clicks, hit that restart button. Losing simply takes eats away your score while restarting doesn't.
