if you complain about difficulty then you don't get how important the strategy of the tile part, maybe you should just go back to regular minesweeper

"The Samurai gets drunk and gains 5% chance to dodge swords and arrows" - finally a flashgame with a reference to the movie "Drunken Master" :)

you know nerdbook....your games are all different creative and NEW styles.. im sure you can make sequels with extra and new features n stuff. man maybe if you worked for consoles too. like playstation nintendo and etc. you could probably come out with new types of genres for games.. i heard nintendo might go out of business, and they dont know what kind of new genres to come out with. and they need to come up with new stuff or else nintendos gone.. anyways just suggestions and ideas goodbye Genius

A good game, generally, though it may be *too* challenging, as currently programmed. A defeat against a Daimyo is nothing more and nothing less than wasted time and effort, and I don't think this is a good model to follow. 4/5 as a result; would be 5/5 otherwise.

mann nerd book you should make a game where you control this samurai hero, something like chibi knight, armed with wings, and adventure story... then from there.. go ONLINE WITH all heros.. and make something like the game from "www.armorgames.com" The Last Castle.

if possible keep everything the same, except lose of silvers and exp after losing a province and losing skills and stats after difficuty change? maybe even heros? how about we keep everything but have to BUY HEROS? sound better? =]
or when u enter hardcore keep silvers and exp after death and keeps skills once u get into nightmare but have to earn your heros? i dont know something..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
can we just keep the skills we bought? making silvers is hard. i got impatient after beating normal. im on hardcore. i got really discouraged when i saw my skills missing when i went to hardcore. maybe it can be an option to keep the skills =]. anyways it gets so hard on hardcore that i die on killing off the mooks or the daymo has 100 hp left.. i know in hardcore getting the other heros helps u get threw things more. it is hard.. possibly beatable for all difficulties if u have the time ... and patience.. GREAT GAME... but.. im just impatient..

am I missing something or is this game crazy hard? no matter how much HP i have I can't beat more then one provence, what am I missing?

Found a bug. If you start a new game and get a gameover/defeat in it (normal mode), when you quit and start a new game, you will retain your losses from the previous save file.

A truly brilliant game, Nerdook! I appreciate the work you've been doing with the minesweeper format. Your skill in crafting upgrades continues to impress me as well. I salute you, as an artistic game designer. May your craft ever improve!

Sorry for the constant comments... but I do enjoy how you have to balance gaining silver, gaining exp(saving clicks), and killing off mooks all at the same time...

Another great game by nerdook. it's pretty, it's simple, it's stylish, it's just fun, it's a little challenging. I love and thank you for making wonderful games.

I'm glad you wanted to make a game with more challenge, but one thing that always drew me into your games was that I could grind, since I'm not very good at some games. I'm gonna keep trying different strategies, but still... food for thought =p

You should be allowed to keep your experience if you lose. Also I'm pretty sure there's no way to spend exp in game, which is retarded as hell.

I like it but it has reached the point where I can't beat the last diamyo and must rage quit. great game for the most part though. 4/5

I agree with Darkrunov; the opponents seem completely unbalanced, and the fact that you don't get to keep purchases made on boards where you were defeated ensures that you're overwhelmed by the time you're in the Daimyo's Province. Normally I like your games, Nerdook. There's a distinction between challenging and so difficult that playing is a waste of time, and you went over it with this one.

Still can't find the "Stop trying to kill the daimyo by yourself when everyone else is fighting mooks, your going to die", command.... still fun... still wish i could grind >.>

nice, but a little repetitive and I kinda wanted to get all or at least most of the upgrades. But I see in the top comments you wanted it to be challenging, so I'll stop whining.

For some reason, after I defeat one province, when I go to fight another province, it doesn't let me play until after I load (it looks like it thinks I've died)...

It'd be good if you could re-set your experience points and re-distribute them if you realise you've got it wrong (eg can't win!) and want to try a different path.

i love game creators who take the time to read the comments made on their games and reply to them and fix any bugs people point out :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The idea of the game is good, but it is near impossible if you take but a couple wrong moves, or do not spend your gold/exp correctly. Definitely has potential, but needs a lot of work on balance.

thank you for actually performing some sort of historicle check! but i think that the village would just have a bunch of samurai and no daimyo :S
