Keys sometimes get stuck. I'm playing on a computer with an oldish version of flash player, but this shouldn't happen. Otherwise, it's a really nice game.

So incredibly annoying when you get stuck at the button of a level as some class that can't double jump and then you can't get the last princess to complete story mode. Has happened numerous times to me now. Really damn annoying. Otherwise fun game. I enjoyed myself :)

really nice idea and game!
Random generated levels (tho sometimes it was silly) is always a nice feature.
The menu and interface however was a bit too chaotic to me, took some mins till I figured out everything.
The 'upgradeable heroes' idea was a nice one aswell, tho would have been great if artifacts were grant additional powers instead of replacing others.
First the number of levels felt enough, but it really wasn't that many and at the end I felt it was not enough, at all.
I expect a sequel with a map at least four times more levels than this one (it's randomly generated after all, won't take any time from dev. process), more unlocks and freedom in customizing heroes, better interface.
4/5.

one of the key advantages of the paladin (and he has many disadvantages!) is that you will never get stuck by a horizontal block. that said, the game DOES check to greatly reduce the situations where you get stuck, and again i would like to apologize for the times when it failed to do so... hope you enjoy the game though. try the 2player mode! the AI can play as the second player :D

What is gold good for? What are classes good for? Is there a time limit? Can u die or lose the game? How do I use items? I dont know. Just fall down, avoid the enemies and jump on the boss head. I finished the game without understanding the concept of the game. I bet a tutorial would make this game more fun.

Okay, three times in a row I've been stuck by a WALL, a literal wall, blocking my progression on the last level. There have been no paladins to smash it up until this point, or any way to swap heroes even. I understand the maps are random but there should be some way to make sure the player can't be 100% trapped. If I have to restart the whole game then, well.

I agree that the random level generator needs some rules in place to prevent completed blocked off keys etc. Game overall is simple and fun.

is there a specific way to get bonuses for each hero? for example i got almost all bonuses for the paladin, is there a reason why or is it just random?

This is a fantastic little game. Like everyone is saying it gets surprisingly deep for the simple concept. The only problem I have is that sometimes it screws you with variance. I wouldn't mind getting stuck in a hole or killed by random spikes under a chest if there were any possible way that I could prevent such a thing, but sometimes the levels just completely screw you over with no remorse while other times they are easy as can be. I understand that this is bound to happen with randomly generated levels, but if there were some rules in place that could prevent this that would be awesome.

pressing Q while on the map makes you start over-.- 2/5, would have been a 5/5 if it wasn't for the reset it all QQ thing

honestly... isn't it just enough that you cant see whats above the screen? does there really have to be that kill you instant fog? you dont wanna know how often i died because the boss came into play and screen suddenly went down and i got killed because i went out of the screen...

the barbarian is by far the best class. I was using ''army of clones''+ rune that makes u keep ur hero + mana rune, but when I get telekill... combined with the same runes... it's just overkill. Get urself a barbarian and kill everything in seconds, even bosses!

Very solid, fun game with legitimate replay value. That being said, the game is too easy. Find a barbarian, go berserk, fall, repeat. Wait around if your mana runs out. Even without a barbarian, the game wasn't overly difficult unless I was aiming for artifacts. I'd suggest adding a necessary gold requirement to get a key/princess and having an even higher gold requirement for the artifact/life.
Two other additions... Let us replay a level until the artifact was obtained and halve the number of heroes but double (or quadruple) their gold value. This (along with adding a gold requirement to get a key/princess) would force players to switch it up, rather than riding down as just one hero.

Wow. I gotta say, I didn't expect to enjoy this game as much as I did. I only played it for the badges, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Very cute, with an interesting game play.
My only complaint is that sometimes you end up in an area that you can't escape from and have to kill yourself to get out. I kinda wish you wouldn't lose a life for this.
Still, great game!

I think theres a lot of potential in this game, but most of the stuff in it doesn't seem to play a big enough role. I found it sort of useless to change the hero, (i pretty much stuck with the thief) and i thought the money was rather useless too. I personally would suggest an upgrade system (everyone loves upgrades!) so you can instead use your money to buy new skills, life, etc. or lives if you really wanted... and using a hero more then others would benefit that hero. Still a unique game though and would like to see a sequel.

Hmm, get to the end of the last castle and I can't free the princess because she is stuck under a rock and a treasure chest. Not very fair.

Not that the music is bad, it isn't, but a way to access the options menu without quitting your current campaign would be nice

I enjoyed this game. What attracted me to Vertical Drop Heroes is how it resembled the old Super Mario series, and it didn't disappoint. Jumping on enemies and collecting costumes with special abilities makes never gets old.
The achievement system in the game was fun. I'm glad there is harder objectives for fans that already completed the campaign. There are too few Kongregate badges however. Maybe you should have added a "hard" badge for completing all the game achievements.
The level design was imperfect. I did like how the levels went down vertically, forcing players to jump down deep pits, dodging flying arrows and spiked blocks. Sadly, I once got stuck in a dead end. Couldn't jump out or break any of the blocks, forcing me to quit and waste a life in the process.
Nice game overall. I'd enjoy playing a sequel.
