Enjoyable little game, the random element does add for some replayability and in a sense reminds me of the free indie games Spelunky and Probability 0. Good to see more games which employ random levels and random enemies/powerups. The scores could use some fixing by the looks of it though. Seems a bugfix or a re-working of the way scoring is done might help prevent some exploits.

its good, but survival mode is too much random and classes are unbalanced
"story mode" just use archer with that infinite double jump item and rune +15 mana.
survival mode you wont survive too long without assassin
4/5 cus i like it
but it could be more balanced..

It took me a few games to figure out that "too slow" actually had nothing to do with speed and just meant you hit the ceiling. It's annoying how the ceiling suddenly drops down when you get to a boss and sometimes kills you that way too. Also the achievement should be to get all 25 masks. They aren't that hard...

The game is good, what happend to me is crap, im at the last princess at the boss, and im stuck. im a paladin so i cant double jump, but the gold blocks u cant destroy are too high for me to get up, this is the only flaw ive found with the game, it is still an ace game

This game is so much fun! I love that each level is different every time, insuring that there are none of those impossibly hard levels that you work at for half an hour before quitting the game in a rage. Those levels are sort of the bane of my existence, so thanks for making those nonexistent on this game.
I love this game, and I sincerely hope you'll consider making a sequel.

game engine should not make a pit of more than 3 blocks or wall blocking exit, and make all characters with melee able to open chests from the side.
otherwise awesome game, very well made.

boss battles are annoying sometimes block locations make so that there is no way to get to the boss without getting hit

i love it when a giant wall of blocks stacked on top of each other block you from getting to the exit thats just great isnt it?

Beautiful. I can't stop playing. I could right a long review about *everything* you did right, but other people seem to have already done that. I'll keep it simple.
Thank you.

This is my new favorite roguelike platformer. My favorite way to play is with the thief, because at the bottom of the level you can use teleport to keep going. I usually go six or seven floors down beneath the "bottom" of the level before jumping through the key portal. It's interesting to see how the game generates that deep.

What a sweet, fun game this is! In the sequel, I think you should play a bunch of different girl heroes saving helpless boys.

paladin+ invulnerable armor=impossible to be killed or kill any boss coz you can never get to the other side or get hit and turn back to a normal guy...

Just press the Q key when that heppens, you don't lose a life, and you go back to your starting character.

I really enjoyed this game; I wasn't taking much time anymore for games but I really liked this and was addicted. I like how each hero has different ways of playing (the one I like the most is the Ranger) and how you can customize them. Really cool! I gave it 5/5, and favorited.

Good game but it needs to be longer. Also, it would be better if you could spend money on something, like upgrades or weapons etc. 4/5.

Not a real bug, but funny: if you get a gold medal after collecting all artifacts, you are being given a "new" artifact again and again. :)

Sorry to doublepost, but i've found another bug in the game. Whenever i'm holding down an arrow key, about 50% of the time the command freezes into the flash game, making me constantly move in the direction I was going to until I click the button again. I've died a number of times due to this, missed hundreds of chests and missed out on my heros. Please get this fixed too.

I don't know if this affects everyone.. but I'm a talker in my chatroom. For some reason, I talked for about 10 seconds. I then clicked back into the game, my hero flashed into a 'green light' and the game registered as if I had given up. It made me lose a life. -.- This has happened a number of times, and I have been unable to get the game completion badge. Nerdook, please try to get this fixed. ^^ Overall, the game is great. I love the different hero classes and how they can affect your gameplay, such as time per level, gold gained etc. I give this game a 4/5, but due to that glitch, i'll have to make it a 2/5.

Beserking, if you get stuck somewhere because you can't jump, you can press Q once, and it'll degrade you to the normal form
However, something I've found rather annoying is that if you have the Beserker Mask, you can sometimes get stuck inbetween an area of blocks, which you wouldn't have access to without smashing them - thus, making it impossible to get out, as you're a barbarian with no smashin abilitys.

I was a paldin with that armor which makes you invulnerable, and then i was unable to defeat the boss, because I was stuck in the centre!

Vertical Drop Heroes is an original take on the platform genre, with a simple yet surprisingly enjoyable gameplay. You start at the top of each level as a simple adventurer and need to make your way down to reach the level's goal. As you descend, you come across heroes of various classes, which you can rescue to replace your original character. Each class has abilities that enhance the gameplay, and you'll soon learn to seek a new hero depending on your situation, or simply your preferences. The levels are randomly generated and set in different environments, and each gives you the chance to unlock an artifact that can add new abilities to a class by collecting treasure. The enemies have different abilities as well, and the bosses add some nice variety to the mix. Overall, a very good platform game.
