@angelsmen: whoa. i must admit that's a really really unlucky generation. for now, i can only say that pressing Q to quit these situations wont deduct a life from your pool. sorry abt that!

play as the archer with ravens wings on, mage on rune of energy, paladin on rune of endurance, and thief on rune of greed. this is the best combo because the ranger, with ravens wings on, can go any were and get treasure much faster then any of the other characters.

As thief you should use robe of shadows, thats the best money maker, its almost to easy with it the get the gold targets its like cheating =)

Play as barbarian with zerk mask, mage on runes of energy, paladin on runes of endurance, ranger on cleric robes (only time you should switch is if you need hp, but with invulnerable strikes it shouldn't happen often), and thief on runes of greed. Perfect combo.

Jackal is freaking IMPOSSIBLE to beat. I've had it set up the battle stage to where I could not have gotten near or on top of him.

For some reason every 2 seconds the character starts moving in one direction, the only way to stop him from moving is to press the button in that direction, I've noticed this in other games, but it generally isn't too much of a problem, with this one however, it's impossible to notice that it's happening until after you've run off a cliff and straight into the path of an enemy missile or spikes. It makes the game seriously unplayable and until it's fixed my rating will remain a staunch 0/5.

Holy Moley, this game is amazing. It's so simple, but it can be really hard at times. It's extremely addicting too! I actually haven't finished the whole game yet ^_^; [I haven't saved all of the princesses; it's the number of lives that get me] but I'm not going to stop playing until I do! 5/5 =D

when you get the bar of invincible blocks at the bottom of a level, the theif's escape can sometimes get you under them, letting you grab more gold before you leave.

Wonderful. Simply wonderful. The simplicity of the game expands as priorities change within the game, balancing artifacts, heroes, masks, and simply saving the princesses. The first time through it may prove difficult to succeed, but with each added ability option and learning what can and can't be done, the game gets progressively more involved. Perhaps a difficulty setting could have lengthened the experience, but it most likely would have detracted from the simple cleanness of it. 4/5, with a bonus star for being fresh and new.

This was a great game. It was one of the few that I actually had fun while playing, and that I cared enough to get all masks and powers. Excellent work.
Can't wait to play Vertical Drop Heroes II

Perhaps I've overlooked the function, but is there a way to look at heroes' special abilities outside of the game? I didn't get to read them at the time and now feel sadly unknowledgeable.

when completing a level no matter of coins...you will unlock a mask each time...(effect mask) special masks are only obtained from achievement task but in game masks for the characters will be given randomly (when you complete a level with any character) it doesn't matter which character you use its always a random given mask every time

Good concept but the execution is very poor. I've lost count of the amount of times I've been trapped behind a wall or have to make an impossible jump but I can't because of the character I am at that particular time. If you could fix that problem, then 5/5. As it stands, 2/5.

paladin is just ftw
in the ice guy boss battles all you gotta do is get to him, when he shoots his rays it makes you jump higher :)
also the necromancer is good for killing demons :)

It seems lately that when Kongregate makes badges for games, they become full of glitches. Characters freeze now whereas they didn't before.
