it keeps showing me a message: you're trying to do something wrong with your extractors? You have it at corner. What does it mean by that and why does it keep showing it to me?

Awesome game. As a physics major, I appreciate the scientific value behind it. I like that the game makes you look things up on Wikipedia if you don't know them.

The cells that hold the extractors seem to be 1 pixel to small as you have to offset the extractors to overlay 1 cell wall. Also the "extra auto power upgrade" can NOT cover a perfect 4x4 square, again it is off by 1 pixel leaving a single extractor un-effected. If this game had a better grid/placement system it would be so much more fun...

A good idea for an upgrade: increase time that can be spent "away" until you are considered idle. Better than reduce time for evo. What's that things use anyways?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Forhekset: you need to go to Upgrades and click on Lucky until you get to 8.75. it'll show you your current and next levels in the bottom left corner.

Very true. Kongregate did have a lot of problems last night. However, that doesn't change the fact that something has changed between versions 1.5.8.2 and 1.5.10.2 which causes my system to slow to a crawl and/or crash. It turns out I was mistaken about the browser, though... apparently Firefox did one of its silent updates to 36.0 without my realising it. It does kind of, sort of work in Opera 27.0, but it does freeze for about 5 seconds out of every minute there and the background's brightness fades in and out instead of the background moving there. Very odd.

Objective : 8.75 Evolution Lucky
Current: 4.99
What does this mean?
Also, I can't use evolution because I need to level up. I can't level up because I can't pass this mission.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Daveiddanger1, there is a reason for that, so you can be smart. it takes time to know the elements, but once you learn them, it feels great to know what element this chemical has.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
SUGGESTION:you should add what elements are in the evoluation thing because i always have to search it up and it would be alot more helpful
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
*goes back to check* Huh. That's odd, I could've sworn that the "get 111 points" task was still in the middle of a level and required to get to the end. Never mind that, then, I guess my main complaint there was due to not paying enough attention while tanked to the gills on cold medicine. o.o

"The game finish with the ascension, get the 111 points is like get all achievements in other games."
The thing with achievements is, they're usually optional - a fun way for players who want to go beyond the basic mechanics of the game to challenge themselves, or some milestones to mark their progression. "Reload the game 50 times" isn't fun OR a measure of progress - I'm at the endgame with 12 reloads, three of which were done for the earlier "have X reloads" requirement. And trying to blindly guess what you need to do to get "Secret" or "shi shi shi shi" isn't fun for me either. If it was an achievement, I would skip it. Since it's a requirement - one that's thoroughly inconsistent with the rest of the gameplay so far, and completely unrelated to how well I understand the game and how well I'm doing at it - I won't be finishing the game. Like I said, I would've liked to see how it ends - but with this artificial barrier...well, more interesting things to do and all that.

As I said, my suggestion would be to, when there's a task that requires finding X elements with property Y, to simply display that property in the element boxes themselves in the main view for any element that you have at 100%. (And *also* on mouseover, I guess, since boxes might be obstructed by extractors.) It would make getting to 100% more meaningful and rewarding, and remove a lot of tedious work from these particular tasks that tests your patience rather than your knowledge or your progress in the game.

"I know the problems with the years, but I don't want remove it..." -
Don't have to remove it, it makes sense for a game that's partially about teaching you snippets of chemistry and the periodic table. It's just that the UI does not work well for these tasks in particular. The player basically has three choices: 1) Use an outside reference, which I guess is the intention with all the Wikipedia links, but this breaks down quickly when the information in Wikipedia is different from the information in-game and forces the player to fall back on the other two options. (2) Click through the elements on the Knowledge tab until you find one that matches, put an extractor on it, go back to Knowledge tab, etc. Not fun, and kind of goes against the (much appreciated) "no clicking" idea. (3) Move an extractor through every element in turn until you find one that matches the condition, leave it there, repeat. Not much fun either.

Interesting idea and mechanics and a fairly unique concept, but it feels like all the most tedious tasks have been crammed into the last level. Hunting up and down the periodic table for that one last year I'm missing - not once, but five times, especially when the years in question do not exactly correspond to the charts the game links to on Wikipedia - was annoying but doable, though it would be *far* less annoying if the game just displayed task-relevant information on every element you already have at 100% and not just on extractor+mouseover.
But the "111 point in exam" step is where I think I'm done with this. It's a pity; I wanted to see how it ends, but I have no intention of sitting refreshing the window, waiting for the game to load and saving it forty more times or keeping my computer parked on this window for 12 more hours of active time logged just because the dev thought it would add to the experience somehow.
I know the problems with the years, but I don't want remove it... The game finish with the ascension, get the 111 points is like get all achievements in other games.

really, this game is messing with my OCD. I utterly NEED an extractor to go to every single element. The fact that the amount of extractors grows so much slower than the amount of places to put them makes me feel REALLY bad about this. I know thats an personal issue but perhaps we could get "weaker" extractors too, just so we can cover everything. Maybe 10% of regular strenght but 50% regular strenght in idle mode?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be nice to have 2-3 buttons or hot keys to save layouts in. That way, we could easily change between a layout intended for active playing / rapid points for upgrade vs. a more spread out arrangement of extractors for idle.

OK, last update for now... After actually timing it, it's happening anywhere between every 11 and 14 seconds, depending on how much swapping it's doing with the hard drive. The standard time for the cut to black is 12 seconds, happening at least 70% of the time. If you have anything in your code which operates on a 12 second cycle, I suggest that you look for the bug there first.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
OK, it doesn't always crash. When it doesn't, the screen goes black at least once every 5-10 seconds, forcing me to scroll so the window is completely off the screen and then scroll back. Hardly what I'd call a user friendly experience...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
OK then... whatever you did to "fix" my reported problem now causes my browser to crash. Not only that, before it crashes, it spends a ridiculous amount of time swapping something on the hard drive (why should it even need to go to the hard drive at all?) Seriously dude... I originally rated this at 4 stars (-1 for the ridiculous amount of grinding needed later in the game... especially the idle grinding). While it's as buggy as it is now, I'm force to drop my rating down to a 1. Please, please, PLEASE, get this game fixed! It's definitely one of the more enjoyable games on Kongregate for me, but all these newly introduced bugs make it completely unplayable.

the level 7, 2050 atomic mass quest is bugged!! i have 22 extractors, all on elements with over 200 atomic mass, and the quest says i'm just barely half way done. i have a good 2-300 more atomic mass than i actually need for the quest...

i'm sorry mr developer, but i didn't understand what you meant by origin of trade, and now your changing it to opacity, i'm a bit confused

does anyone else encounter the extractors "snapping to grid" when you move them around? It seems to toggle on randomly and there seems to be no manual way of changing it. I've only encountered it twice in the past week or so. Maybe it's a bug? But actually, if it's controllable, it's a setting I'd love to have. Sometimes I want to squeeze more extractors in my Hydrogen, but sometimes I just want my other extractors to quickly fit in neatly lol

I don't know what you did with the latest update, dude, but the game has slowed to an absolute crawl, freezing and black screening a couple of times a minute, and hogging my system's resources. Please fix this. System: Windows XP SP2/3 hybrid, Firefox 35.0.1, 2GB RAM.
Mouse over "upgrades" button to see total atoms to buy. In "exchange" select "all" (without elements locked) and you see the total. If you want the total atoms for anything else, please tell me.

I know i already have a very popular comment, but what is the function of achievements? Do they add +1% to production? just wondering. Also, at the bottom there is an achievement named hidden. It's in an empty space. Click on it and you'll get it.

One of your recent updates made it so opening a second tab in firefox (at least on a mac) leads to your game using 100% of the cpu. The only way out is a force quit. New windows work, perhaps because they don't start the idle tracker. Wikipedia links open in a new tab... so that's completely broken now.

If there was a sell max button at evolution, and you could sell all then the "Evolution sell amount" upgrade would be useless. (Off topic: We just can remake the entire game with multiple buy max, sell max, upgrade max, learn max buttons so lazy people don't have to click that much in this in general "no clicking" idle game..)
