Really badly needs a keyboard shortcut for "pause game, and open the upgrades menu". In a game entirely controlled by mouse cursor placement, having to navigate to the upper left corner to pause is pretty suboptimal

the lag is pure torture on this game. (and i have the low res settings on this game, which i never do, since it's so bad) You def have to grind for $$ to get all the upgrades, as others have said. if it werent for the lag, it wouldnt be a bad game.
i wish the devs had made levels of harder bloons as opposed to so many bloons or something, in an effort to fix this horrible horrible lag

The developers are obviously money-grubbing here. 3 "STORE" buttons on the stage select screen, extremely grindy gameplay unless you buy super overpriced upgrades. Yes, developers have to eat, but don't be greedy, it's a damned flash game.

We're playing pretty fast and loose with terms like 'game' and 'fun' and 'enjoyable' here. The concept is mildly amusing, and I like upgrade systems, but this requires way too much grinding for way too long. Next time try making your game more fun instead of just long enough to hope impatient people will give you money. 3/5 for the simplistic game design, marked to 1/5 for greed.

After getting two of the highest energy whips and the lightining core attack up to the level before the special attack I grinded the first ocean stage (positioned myself at the middle of the screen, alt+tabbed to another window, repeat when level ends) for three hours to get shield penetration research at level 10 and one arm attack. Then the boss was EASY. my conclusion of this game: 1/5 because it's easier to let the game play itself.

You know there's too much grinding in a game when you realize the best way to play is to just keep replaying a level, while not controlling at all, letting the game play itself while you get a sandwich.

Oh, my game just bugged. I have -1$ and it resets it to that value everytime i go to upgrade menu/level select menu/ main menu.

If you want to keep your blops, wait about 30 seconds to a minute after each level before clicking ANYTHING, whether it is the shop, replay, continue, etc. For some reasons, even though you complete a level and it says you have so much cash, it is not there, and if you click something, you risk losing the blops you collected. But if you wait a bit, it becomes permanent, or so has been the case with me so far.

@dawndmon Just upgrade a bunch and blast the crap out of it. Buying the first temporary level boost helps a lot too; just keep your cursor in one point, and you will keep popping back to it over and over as you are pushed away.

Man I really wanted to play, but with all these comments saying that the game is way to grindy, I'll probably be here all day for a damn game. Screw that!

What is annoying is a bug as I hope it is not intentional, that when you complete a level and earned the cash as it says it is right there at the top of the screen, some times, when you go to the shop or next level, the cash goes away back to a lower amount (while I am guessing that the blops you collected to get it are marked as collected and you cannot get the cash back).
While I do like the creativity of the objects. Each level has something that impresses me. I also especially like that the heads up display disappears when you are over it (take a hint game designers), I will admit that the game looks like a money grab. $35 and you get all the epics. It is a grind, but I can accept that. Not all games should be easy. But a path internal to the game should be provided, not one relying on people buying their way through. Make it possible to earn the cash needed. Either lower the costs or gain a fraction of the cash for blue blops.

okay, all the monetary stuff aside, I do have a legitimate complaint about part of the game mechanics here. So, after macroing for 3 days to max out a few of the weapons and research, the gold balloons are now just a nuisance. I actually try to avoid them, as whatever power-up they give is far worse than my normal maxed-out guns. The gold balloons need to give a consistent, uber-power every time you collect them, like a bomb that pops all current 'bloons on the screen. Having that been said... the game really looks nice, but is absolutely no fun at all. Anyone who actually spends money instead of taking the 5 minutes to create a macro to play for you over night is just lazy.

This game is super fun on the surface. I kept coming back over and over and over again trying to buy the next weapon upgrade, even though I kept thinking "man, this grinding bullshit sucks." I've finally come to the realization that it's just not worth it. You have to grind a level 50 times just to buy the next upgrade, and I am not spending real money just to buy a few lines of computer code. Changed my rating from 5/5 to 2/5. And that only because you fooled me for so long.

I'm truly saddened by what I've seen here. Truly, truly saddened. I've been enjoying Bloons games since it was just monkeys throwing darts and it's been a lovely relationship ever since. I have ABSOLUTELY ZERO RESPECT for the Freemium model you've chosen to adopt, NinjaKiwi. I bought one upgrade in this game out of respect to you...then wrote a script to just play the same level over and over all night to earn money because after two hours of trying to just play through myself I'd accomplished almost nothing. Unless you change your approach to this shameful type of extortion in future projects, I will never support you on ANY development in the future. EVER. Do you hear that shattering sound? That's my heart breaking. Goodbye NinjaKiwi.

Okay, so this game is grindy, BUT I am a badge-whore, and so I persevered in grinding. I've grinding through worse games for my badges, but this game is also seriously laggy. Granted, my computer is terrible, but this is a simple game and there is no real 'low quality' option. Please implement one!

There are two ways to make money in this world: either you say "Give me money and I'll give you stuff you want" or you say "Give me money or I'll keep punching you in the face." You're punching us in the face but you've forgotten that we can just walk away and play some other game. That's a shame because some of the balloon formations in this game are incredibly imaginative and actually rather beautiful.

Wow! I beat a really hard level, and even got a silver! What a sense of triumph, and reward! That $25 will go really far to saving up for the $25,000 upgrade I'm looking for! That is why this game feels 'greedy'. Because it's just chintzy in so many ways. If I beat it without any purchases, I will upgrade to 2/5 - but no higher, it's a superb game that is ruined.

Besides the biggest problem people keep complaining about (grindy), this game also gets incredibly laggy (the fourth boss was basically unplayable for me), glitchy (I had to refresh the page multiple times when weird things started happening, like starting the level and all I could see was green), and it's just not challenging or interesting. It comes down to your upgrades more than your skill, and you only have to shoot stuff, whereas most games in this genre have you shoot and avoid (the avoiding part usually being the challenging bit). This feels like you took a game for toddlers and added upgrades. Incredibly boring.

For those going for the badge but hating the game and the grind: Get a mouse control program (like Ghost Controller). Play a level that you are currently guaranteed to lose. Record the mouse when you click "try again" and "GO". Then play the job on a loop. Leave it over night. Come back to lots of money. Buy lots of upgrades, so you only actually have to play each level once. Then say "Screw you, evil greedy developer, make a real game and maybe I'll give you money"

I don't understand why everyone is hating so much. Even without the shop the game game would be the same. The grinding is there so the game won't be over in a flash (i'm so punny). I can at least say i enjoy this game alot, even if it is incredibly greedy. Its not like bloons TD 5 wasn't greedy, i don't see you complaining on that!

Can whoever it is who is spending hundreds of dollars on games like this please stop it; you're only encouraging them.
I used to look forward to Bloonz games and I bought Bloonz TD5 desktop version, but this is awful. If you want me to part with my cash again, you'll have to offer something I actually want; extra levels, challenge modes etc, not pay-to-win.
