@demo3467 - 1) If you're a beginner, get as many medals as you can first. Choose casual mode + laptop mode + skip hard waves. DONT use carry over if you died or you wont qualify for any medals afterward.
2) Some say it is better for beginners to use Sheriff class but I would rather go for Rogue(best money maker) or Hunter(Bowgun). Remember to aim at the enemy's head to deal double damage :)
3) If you are a rogue, you should upgrade Sense, Luck or Active before anything else. Hunter should be Cripple Shot and Engineer
4) Save money to upgrade house. If you are a Rogue, you should recruit Ranger or Hunter next. When you are not getting the class you needed, just spend 2AP to refresh recruit and if it is still a no, just return to title, click continue and refresh recruit again. I do this all the time :) The same technique goes when choosing your gun.
5) Dont use Ragnarok too early on the game. Go to elona.wikia.com/wiki/Elona_Shooter for more tips. Good Luck!

I think I'm going to check out the Elona Rougelike RPG now :D
Looks pretty fun even if I didn't know this guy made it. Thanks for the lovely game, one of the very, very few with good replayability.

You get far by using a good class, sheriff, noble or militia work well and buying a ton of chickens and not wasting your money on useless junk like looters, sisters(unless you have love), building a good party with good weapons and getting a lot of the medals.

NemoVonFish - What cayh means is that the arrows pass through without hitting them. It's a collision issue with flash I believe. Tried lowering graphics quality or something?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Cayh, they're meant to, that's the point. They go through a bunch of enemies, damaging them. That's the entire reason WHY people use bowguns.
And yes, Ragnarok is extremely survivable, just make sure you've got a decent way of doing lots of AoE damage, Bowguns/Gravity guns excel at this. Or if you're a pansy, hit the sword juuust before the day ends so the dragons don't get a chance to kill the shit out of you.

Here I am on Level 24 killing along and (this is my first time playing) I get a Sword called Ragrarok in the loot! So I wonder "Hmmmmm what does this do." Next level I use it. WTMFBH HOW AM I SUPOSED TO BEAT THAT! Seriously has anyone actually SURVIVED Ragnarok?

FIX THIS DAMN BUG!!!!! It's really pissing me off when I'm using my Bowgun/crossbow, half my shots are going right through some enemies like Archers and barbarians, literally. Fix it. it's a good gun but it's really a let down when I try to hit these guys!

Call me a noob or w/e but...can some1 teach me the order u buy stuff cause i have like 31 medals and yet i cant pass wave 21 on hardcord mode.

This must have been what the makers of Lord of The Rings had to go through while filming, defending their sets from the roving herds of renegade sheep that are indigenous in New Zealand.
Also surviving Ragnarok is easy if you first obtain the Chalice of Jure and have a few people on your team with a Chain Gun or Gravity Gun, it also might be a good idea to add high level Damage, Fire Rate, and Impact Mods (work especially well in interrupting their attacks, forcing them to charge their attack up from the beginning).

Btw.. many ppl might not be aware there is a partial idle version of the game... after the first battle u can go to the barracks and change your main characters orders {appears under where new recruit are} from hero mode, where u have full control over your character, to either fire at will or any other orders.... note too u need to carefully manage and choose the best orders for each character or u'll die easily.. also too u still need to use items during battle and do shopping after each battle.. but it's great if your busy chatting or look for a new different challenge. finally if it seems a bit hard then u can also enable certain options like slower enemies

@nicy Why? I love using those things. It brought me from ~18 to ~25. It's great for leveling if you have understanding of the game.

Some ideas for Elona Shooter 2:
Naming your character, having a mode where everything is 2x easier and the same for harder.
Starting off with a wepon choice out of a machine gun (LVL 1), big gun (LVL 1), and a lazer pistol (LVL 1). Thats what i think should be in Elona Shooter 2 (if there is one).

@sparky you cant stockpile grenades cuz they are different levels as for hammers i guess its so if you cant pile grnades you cant pile hammers
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice game, but has anyone else noticed that if you get awarded more of something you already have (like 2 hammers, and you're holding three, or 5 grenades and you have 2), it doesn't let you stack items? Makes it impossible to stockpile anything...

The single shot rifle is arguably the best beginner gun. Shoot once, reload, and you'll never run out of ammo. The small reload delay is barely longer than the delay between shots anyways, and it lets your accuracy recover faster.

dude i f you find Ragnarok. NEVER use it. it summons like a million dragons that kill you instantly, it's really annoying but use it once for fun or to check if im correct.
