this game would be fairly awesome if the later leveling was slightly faster (right now it's SO grindy, I'm just repeating Stonehenge for a while now... on my fourteenth straight repetition) and a slightly higher level cap. Right now, it's tough to get a single ability to optimum, much less giving a hero two "modes" to operate in. The apprentices can switch modes better than the heroes. Also, maybe better descriptions of the spells? The Mage and Necromancer both have spells that say they damage everything in range, and don't even remotely do so. Most of them only very rarely hit two targets, even if there are six in range.

Am I the only one who appreciates the level cap? Sure it means you can't get max stats for every character and make them a god (boo hoo), but it means you have to choose carefully where you spend your points.
I do agree that it makes you lose incentive once you hit 45, but I stand by the game developers reasoning. I'd only like to see the cap raised if even more skills are added so that you can't max them out then either. If you can easily achieve every level of every skill, what is the point in giving the player choice at all? You might as well have them automatically increase until you end up with everything. Knowing that you will ultimately have everything anyway takes the joy out of the choices I make.

Really enjoying the game, hope that:
the lvl 45 cap gets extended so we can get all the skills
ability to sell towers
if a unit is dead, the ability to place another unit in that tower
advance waves option
target attacks
otherwise very fun game

this game is such bull shit all my hero are past level 30 and i cannot get past level 10 like im just overrun by enemies and my heros die so god damn fast this game suck 2/5!

seems typical of the lower quality tower defenses, you play the same 3 or 4 levels over and over for hours to level up your heroes. Just to get passed level 5. And so on.

Im level 6 hardcore and it seems that no matter who i pick they just get wiped out..
My necromancer is lvl45 but none of his attacks work, the elemental suppression, sucks straight up, his other attacks suck, my archer is the one who does something but not enough, my mage is maxed ice out but those attacks dont do squat, of course the healers attacks dont affect them
and i am just unleahing mad spells on them while there walking along but the mana runs out and they barely get damaged. If this is a game where you have to put the skill points in a specific place to win, then thats a huge flaw that can easily be removed by taking off the level caps..
It just seems that WE the players get stiff armed because the creators think it would make the game to easy, when in fact it makes it practically impossible to play.. just because they know what to do doesnt meen everyone else will, so i dont know thats my opinion, im all ears if anyone disagrees

you should reassign skillpoints for your mage if you're all ice with him, actually it's a useful tool to do if you're stuck somewhere.

i just ran into the game the other day and i got all characters to lvl 45, so i got a little heartbroken that i couldnt get to higher lvls...now i kow "balance" or whatever but it just annoys me that i went full ice on my mage, hes beasty and all but when a ice dragon comes along im screwed, it would be nice to be able to max out, so i can use all my attacks in strategic ways....also the apprentices die in like 3 hits... I just wanna know if someone can fix lvl cap, or should i just quit now, because i havenet even played through each level and if hardcore is even harder and i cant level up further then theres no point

Artwork and music are very good. Some nice gameplay ideas, too. What I don't like is the repititiveness of the levels. There are no challenges for the playing strategy. This and the fact that even fast speed is way to slow make it imho more fun to watch a hard drive defrag than play another level of Heroes of Mangara.

I am stuck on lvl10 hardcore. dont see a way hoe to pass this lvl... my heroes are: archer 45 // mage 45 // druid 40 // necro 44 ... plz help. any tips+hints for me? the first ice dragon kills me.

my impression is that blizzard works quite well even when enemies have ice resist. it still slows them down, so that other units can attack it. using area effect spells this is way more helpful than fire spells.

Keep this alive in case you didn't see it, once the boss is spawned its not visible anymore: Last boss has 7747 HP, resistances: 60 phy, 85 fire, 99 nature, does 152 fire dmg. Druid as healer, Archer with Snipershot, Mage with Blizzard and Necro with Elemental Suppression is one way to go for last boss. -- The game is awesome btw, nice design, I liked it because the units, heroes and spells work so well together. :-) 5/5

Update: Charge up your shield on your mage, also put a druid apprentice by him. Sorry for double-posting. Beware the elements and Golems! Add some ice power for the fire golems.

@Payneinsane: You have to click the question mark by the back button. To the left, I think.
@Bionicle13: Did you try to use the spell-book to stun it, and use other attacking spells as well? For a stunning spell, use the meteor Earth spell, or the Storm Air spell. Fear is Awesome, use it and Acidic cloud. Also, you might want to max your Magician's fire abilities as best you can. +1 if it's good advice please. I'm on that level myself, and I'm almost killing it, even though my highest level character is only level 35.

Okay, Bionicle13, you won't believe this, but for the Druid, you want him to have max healing, and as soon as you get enough skill points to get to revive, GET IT. Also get his armor and other healing skills. pretty much leave his attack tree alone, and if you need nature damage, call on one of his apprentices.

really fun game but it would be nice if you started with a main hero that you pick what he/her is and make it look the way you want to. and finding other heroes you can hire and fire would be nice too

Level up the Arcjer and Mage Heroes for smashing combo.
For the Archer, don't worry about getting all the skills, focus instead on damage and rate of fire, with a bit of range. At level 25 Bea should have: Arrow 2/10 Fletching 5/10 Composite Bow 5/5 Steel Bowstring 1/10 Sniper Shot 1/10 Hardened Arrowheads 7/10 scattershot 1/5 Quiver 3/3. With the extra rate of fire from the quiver and the hardened arrow heads, she breaks defesnses and does a huge amount of damage!
For the Mage, focus on fire, because that's what will do the most amount of damage in the shortest amount of time:
MM 1/10 EM 5/5 FireBall 5/5 Improve FireBall 3/10 Iceblast 1/5 THIS SHOULD BE HIS LEVEL 15 SETUP. Don't worry about the Ice tier, apprentice mages can take care of that. This is a guide ot help you smash your way through.

as to icons for skills:
1 - let it be
2 - remove an arrow from icon (right now it looks like a clock - a bit confusive)
3 - let it be
4 - make it look more like an attack rate (e.g. sword with slash trace or clock or smth)

to devs: projectile speed and attack rate are misplaced in hint (the last value is an attack rate, while hint says tha it's a projectile speed).

Hotkeying spells is way more needed than hotkeying heroes/units.
And it's way better if you organize it into 2-layer hotkeys, like 1/2/3 to select buildings/heroes/units and qwer to select actual things, it'll leave space for asdf to select magic school with zxcv to cast spells.
And last boss is god damn hard :(

lol this game was fun for awhile but once it got t lv 6 it become a bish after that lvls just sky rocketed in diffuculty, lv 45 cap is not needed what so ever since most of these levels are pretty hard after lv 6, i think it would be a great idea if the achievements allowed some sort of effects like builder for eg. the prices of making towers decreases or etc. anyways good game but needs alot of work 3/5

Instead of trying to balance the level , try to balance the mana-usage. U can easily win levels by spamming the entrance with lightning storms.

If the level cap is in place to balance the game, then why not extend the amount of experience needed to level, and add some additional effects when finally leveled?

Excellent attempt, congratulations! A lot of potential. The math of the game nevertheless must be rethought. Leveling, abilities, difficulty and timing, all need corrections. I would really like to see a better version of this approach to the tower defense form.
