Remember, if your big number is in the bottom left corner, only press right if the bottom row is full of different value numbers, same with other corners just with the other directions, else your big numbers could become stuck in the middle and a 2 could spawn in its place

little tip: try to make lines of descending powers of 2 (eg. 512 256 128 64 32 16 8 4 2) I, myself, started my chain in the bottom left corner and went all the way right, go up one row and then all the way left.
Then hope you never have to press up...

Just keep the largest number in the bottom left corner adn all the big numbers on the bottom and left side if possible. On my IPad i beat the game and got a score of 30300. One glitch that you could do on the Ipad and not here is that if you slide left and right really fast, it helps prevent a tile forming behind the large numbers and instead puts two tiles on the right side, helps if you get stuck.

Ok, I've played the original and the Doge version of this game, and there are some interesting differences between those versions and this one.
Pros: Good music
Cons: game is slightly laggy. Seriously, how did you even manage that one?

Also want to say I discovered this game at a particularly stressful/sad moment in my life, and it has really helped me step sideways from my spinning brain, in a way that doesn't just feel like distraction. So thanks.

Super soothing and fun -- intuitively able to learn best strategies even if I don't have the focus to really sit and puzzle things out. I love this.

This is so slow compared to other flash and mobile versions. For a smoother flash version http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/

Actually the code for the game was published on guittab, so it's under something like a GNU license, this way is possible to make games based on that, but you can't ask mone for that

Rip-off of a rip-off of an original concept. Trash this mobile shit into the ground and never let its toxic tentacles latch onto another living thing ever again.

As usual, I get my highest score on the first try when I don't know what I'm doing. Once I figure out the pattern and I "TRY", I can never beat that first score.

I read somewhere that 2048 was just stolen from a couple other games, like Threes, but the thing is, Threes costs $1.99.

My OCD fixates on powers of two, which are the numbers shown in this game. When I saw the name "2048" I couldn't resist it. I clicked on it indignantly, expecting to be let down. I don't think any prediction I've ever made has been so far from the truth. This game will forever be in my heart now. <3

Once you master this I challenge you to beat 9007199254740992 (2^53). It has an 8x8 board but you still only get 2s and 4s

Seriously. I did up-right-down-left and got my second ever highest score.
More importantly, I got my highest ever score by NEVER EVER PRESSING UP. I had two rules - 1. If the blocks can go down, they go down. 2. If they must go left or right, the highest number trumps. #2 isn't as set in stone - if I'm running out of room I do the most effective in making space.
