First try - gets 1024;512 and 256 : NOOOOOOOOOO -- Second try - 2048 YEA I DID IT-wait,can I do 4096? and then I failed - this game is awesome though. I cant believe it turned out easy when you think of a good technique-but it was definitely worth my time.

As FemmeFatale said, to win you should stay to a side. However, only following that doesn't get you to 2048. In addition to keeping the high numbers to one corner, keep the side you are "anchoring" continuously filled, with numbers in descending order. For example, in the bottom right corner, you might have 512, then above it 256, above that 64, and above that 32. Then it becomes much less risky to move up, allowing you to avoid tricky situations. You may also want to strategize the next three rows so that you can eventually fill in the smallest number on your "anchored" row, but this strategy gives you a much better chance of 2048 than pushing to one side alone.

14244 first try. Only reason i kept going was because i didnt read the badge and thought i needed a 2048 tile. Only had a 1024 tile. This flash version is very disorienting since the tiles dont actually show movement, they just instantly appear in the direction you press.

Either I'm missing something or the game isn't working properly for me. I start with 2 tiles, but no new tiles ever spawn, even when I combine them.

Tried to beat the game with my brain, score: 738 - Tried to beat the game with random tapping, score: 3068 ... Hmmm...

Responsiveness of the controls seems to be poor compared to the official release. Spawn rate of 4's seems to be lower than it should be - I felt that it was much easier to get to 4096 in this version because I rarely saw 4s spawn, making it much easier to manage.

Keep your highest number in a corner, and never press the verticle opposite direction of it. e.g you're keeping your highest number in the top left, never press down, or vice versa.

someone care to explain how in a game involving powers of 2, the top spot has a high score with an ODD number? this kinda crap is getting old

Aiming for exactly 2048 (at any point in the game) could be a fun medium badge, loosing with exactly 2048, an almost impossible (?) badge. Nice game.

This game deserves more badges. Hard for the 2048 square and and impossible for the 4096 square (which isn't impossible, but it's difficult). If the game doesn't report squares, you can just go by score since the value of the squares are added together. 2048 happens around 20K and 4096 around 50K.

First try.
It's less impressive once I tell you that this game has been my workday routine for almost 2 weeks now.

After I figured out what I was doing this game was actually pretty fun. :D It's also rather relaxing and yet makes you think a bit.

Well, I managed a good score first time playing on a different site. Played this got 1600. After getting tired after 2 more tries I just started pressing the keys in a set repeating pattern... I got 3960....

Ok, this is stupid. I consistently get a better score by pressing random keys rather than thinking about it. Bad game is bad.

hey uh guys. i know the whole 2048 game but the screens getting cut a bit. so why not put the badge on the 2048 diy which is exactly same only with full screen

That moment when you're playing for a long time and realize that you're forced to go in the direction that you've avoided the entire game...

If you can't finish the badge. Press Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down....etc. It will get you over 2048 9/10 times.

The real game is basically the same: http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/
Also, only use 2 arrow keys and the third when you are stuck. NEVER ALL 4!

An interesting puzzle game. the badge is to easy as you can get it pretty easy with no idea what you are doing. but it is a good scoreboard leader type game. keep up the good work.

For those who need instructions: When you push an arrow key all the tiles slide in that direction until they hit a wall or another tile. If a tile hits another tile of the same value, then it will move onto it and they'll add together. For example, when a 4 slides into another 4, the tiles combine to become a single 8 tile.
