Showed up for the BotD, failed to get it, but kept playing to try to figure out this confusing game and why so many were raving about it. Figured out both :)

AMAZING game buuuuut there is a BUG! or cheating???
When you have ADV FORTRESS, HAIL and BERSERK...
You can use HAIL and BERSERK and after use ADV FORTRESS, you can use it again and multiply its effect and it won´t be on cooldown and so on and so on
Always a good sign if the player is left wanting more :) Indeed this was a small prototype but I have a lot of ideas on how to turn this into a full game when the time comes.

Honestly it was just a game until I cleared 6 zones in one run and cleared the last zone... all I wanted to do was unlock the wind set, but I got stuck so I went to another area and ended up having like 50 luck and half the drops were legendary. Became really fun once I realized that I was on the second to last level. Fun game, can't wait to have the next one be released!
Highly recommend to all users!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you started to unlock the strategy of the game later on. Dancing around the routes was indeed something I wanted to experiment with in the gameplay and it's cool when people latch onto it.

only things missing are sound/music and a save feature, great game with a unique premise otherwise! cant wait to see what else you do! :)
Really appreciate it, I definitely hope to keep moving forward and having more games out this year. The save feature should work though, so it may be having issues with your browser.

This is pretty well made! I came in expecting an idle game and was pleasantly surprised that it's actually much deeper than that.
Have you considered porting this to mobile? The short playthroughs, coupled with long-term progression and replayability, make me think it would be a perfect fit :)
Thanks so much :) Yea I really wanted to play with a new concept (quick loot selection) so I introduced idle elements not to make an idle game, but so the player can focus on something else for the core gameplay. I have not considered it for mobile yet, but I would like to make a full version one day. I'd like to do multiple maps with different mechanics on each to really keep the players thinking.

A very interesting concept for a game. Haven't seen anything like it, if I were to be honest. Maybe just needs a nerf on the fire set, since (as I've noticed now once I've read the comments) it's obvious how OP it is. It's a great game, though! 9/10 would play a sequel if any!
I appreciate the words, I had the itch to explore this nonstop-loot concept and wasn't too sure where it'd end up. Glad it landed somewhere decent though and I'll take that feedback into consideration. I didn't mind some sets being stronger than others in some phases, but indeed some happen to have stronger power bands than others.

Accidentally beat the game in less than two and a half minutes since I just so happened to use adv judgment while having enough wisdom for each level only needing 1 kill, and I was less than 3 levels from the end. Whoops!

Skills: Bow-Adv Snipe, Shield-Adv Fortress, Axe-Adv Berserk. Go for 3 firesets and make sure that its in the end 2 firesets and 2 from earth and windset. Waterset is nonsense for this game.

i used the advanced judgement ability on the stage before the boss when the stage was 2 clears until i could move on and i skipped the boss on accident. If this is a bug then pls fix, i would have loved the challenge of fighting the boss :)
Nah not a bug - I actually threw that in there because no one really using judgment in the early days of the game. Not the best answer but you can try a run w/o equipping the ability :P

Nice game, it's simple to understand and a lot of fun. And it's always nice when the developer reads people's comments. 10/10.
That's really cool to hear :) It's a rather different concept (rapid loot selection, not an idle game) so I wasn't always sure how easily people would pick up the concept.

Played this a while back, and likely to come back and do it over again. As you are still reading all the comments I just wanted to say great game. I saw the link you posted: https://peachtreeoath.itch.io/ (for those that haven't seen) and have played through all your single player (joys of lockdown ;) ) games on there. Roomba Rampage and Survivor Slots are great games and then Fall Ball Fall is another fantastic game just like this one! Have favourited your itch.io as well so I can come back and check for any of your new games. Keep it up and hopefully you will develop some of these some more.
Thanks, glad you found the stash of my earlier games! I did a lot of game jams in the past and you could probably tell I've been slowly growing my skillset over time. I really wish Kong would revert it's position on preventing new game uploads so that I can continue putting things here but alas. I'm getting ready to graduate from smaller projects/prototypes and onto larger experiences, so stay tuned for that :)

you can pretty much guarantee yourself a win if you get 100% cdr on your ability and bring fortress, thank you, very cool

This was a pretty fun and unique game. The way progression is handled feels almost like a clicker game where you chose what to focus on to improve your following runs, at least for me. I personally finished the game with advanced execute, advanced protect, and regular judgement with a build focusing on stacking int early and getting at least 2 fire and 2 wind. That let me blaze through early levels while getting strength stacked up, and when harder levels starter apearing, I could cheese them with execute, protect, execute, and then judgement to skip out on a fight or 2.
Pro tip: Even if you use execute on a skeleton that's immune to skills, you will still boost your strength.
Great observation! The staggered progression was inspired by stuff like the challenges in Realm Grinder. I liked the feeling of knocking out different timed challenges which then allowed you to do other challenges. I took that concept and had the player travel a map to do that. Thanks for playing :)

I just beat the game without fighting the boss, not sure if this was intended. I was one wave away, used judgement and finished the game

who would have thought that you can skip the boss thanks to a one skill. no seriously he didnt even shove up and i beaten the game

Thank you for adding slow mode, I certainly enjoyed it better that way until nearly to the end. Otherwise I might have turned away

I wish WebGL games like this had the ability to save data. I have to restart from the beginning if I close the tab. :(

The game was a bit boring and uninteresting, felt like an Idle game too much, and didn't feel like it was worth continuing to play after finishing the BotD yesterday because of that. Hate my opinion all you like, it's just my opinion, you don't have to like or agree with it.
iirc the fastest legit times I've seen posted are somewhere around 50 secs. I believe it revolves around taking the bottom route of the skeletons using judgment, and farming in the warp area.

FYI, if I say a game is bugged it's usually something very obvious or something that becomes obvious when I look at a walk-through video of a game to see what I am doing is correct and it usually is. My PC is about 2 years old with a quad core cpu and 16GB ram, admittedly I am using a iGPU but still that should still be able to play a flash game with ease. I managed to play UT2004 on this PC with 80fps... please advise me as to what the best specs for playing flash games is if you think my PC is bad.
