Sorry you feel that way! The game does start out a bit slow because I wanted to make sure players have a chance to understand the game before I crank up the speed. If you're picking up the game fast, then I hope you stick around a bit for the pace change :)

Under rating threshold (show) just finished. MOAR! i demand MOAR!

Thanks for playing :) My goal is to kick out ~5 prototypes exploring new concepts in incremental games before deciding on a game to turn into a full version. So while updates are on hold for this game, I hope you will enjoy the new games I'll be cranking out so stick around!

Under rating threshold (show) maybe i missed something, but how did my skills slots get to advanced? (i think that's what's happened, there's a star in the lower right corner of the skill; and i read in the game description something about advanced skill slots). can they be upgraded further somehow. or are they just regular and advanced? great game, btw, i love it. i like how, although it reminds you of an idle game, it isn't one. you have to make split second decisions all the time during a run, and then take more time and plan your strategy between runs. both types of decision making, perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Advanced slots are unlocked in certain stages as a reward, Manic Marshes 3 for example which is along one of the bottom routes where you can't heal. They can't be upgraded further but I think it'd be really fun to keep going with that concept in the future. I'm really happy you caught onto the vision of the game! That's exactly how I wanted the player to feel. That they need to react and think on the fly about the loot that they're getting, and how to take advantage of it best. And uh, I wanted them to feel like Thanos :P

Under rating threshold (show) I defeated the final boss together with 2 other enemies in front, and I couldn't actually say how that happened. I don't think I understood the game too much.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Wow that's actually pretty impressive you managed to beat the game without fully getting all the concepts, I mean that in a good way. I actually thought it wasn't possible to pull that off but I'm glad it is!

Under rating threshold (show) OK, "Slow mode" prevents scores from being submitted, but will "slow mode" also prevent the recognition of completion for the kong medium badge?

Sorry about that, lemme see if I can get the badge description changed to say that! That is indeed the case.

Under rating threshold (show) Fun fact: You can skip the bossfight if you combine high wisdom and the skill judgement at the right time.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Totally :) In the early days people weren't really reporting much use of judgment so I figured people didn't really use the skill, but nowadays I see it may be a bit on the strong side. Ah well~

Under rating threshold (show) i never found a single mythical item and beat the game

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

That's definitely possible! A mythical item has a red border and has all 6 stats filled out. The only way to get them is to have a high-ish Luck stat. Once you have 50 LCK you can start getting them, and 150 LCK will give you mythical items every drop.

Under rating threshold (show) you can get more then 100% cdr.... sure i reached it with an intelligence potion, at least 2 armors in the water set and just going for intelligence so it's obviously very situational, but the fact that you can have no cooldown on a spell that gives you 1 strength is a pretty cool way to just dominate everything in 1 or 2 hits afterwards

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

You can actually reach that with raw items and no potions, but you do have to really gun for it. It's a present to players for sticking around and figuring out strategies so gratz on finding it :)

Under rating threshold (show) this feeling when I just wanted to finally unlock back-piece equipment and somehow ended up beating final boss... guess Adv.Execute and Fire 3 bonus gave me enough strength to just brute force there. As of my opinion, this game is balanced generally well, in that it allows multiple ways to win. For what I think is weak, its Air (not strong sides and relies on luck more than needed), there are some other things I'm not sure how to use but I simply didn't test all of them yet. All in all, this diversity makes the game very good!

+ - !

(5)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks a lot! Great breakdown and good points. I think air is probably a bit weak but instantkill was definitely something I didn't want to run amok, especially if you have adv berserk making your AGI go crazy so I did play it a little safe there. All good inputs and I'd love to explore new kinds of Set bonuses and combos in a full version. Jumping from the back-piece area to the boss is CRAZY actually lol, I usually get beat down quickly in the next area if I'm not prepared for the speed changes.

Under rating threshold (show) Judgment's effect carries over from one match to the next: for example, if you are on 1/3 victories, have autoprogress on, and finish the final opponent with judgment, you will start the next stage with 1 victory already in the bag. This also applieto the final boss, so it's possible to finish the game without ever seeing the final boss if you time your judgment usage correctly in the penultimate fight.

+ - !

(7)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Yep that is a strong strategy and could be why some players are misunderstanding Judgment's effects. Thanks for playing!

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) Slow mode must not be enabled if you want the badge. Also, fun fact! Berserk stacks endlessly, so if your INT is high enough that the cooldown time is shorter than the duration, you can refresh the duration and the effects will continue building. I had over 200% attack speed and 800 HP when I finished this last run.

+ - !

(5)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Yea, I actually only noticed that today and that could be why people were missing the badge so thanks for pointing that out! Max Int builds are fun and it's a bit of a present to players that figure that out :P

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) Love the game! Unique concept, fun to figure out what to do. It's not a long game which I am good with, and it never feels too hard or easy. The upgraded skill was a nice surprise. My biggest problem is the Weapon Set info in the game is confusing. I'm still not sure exactly what it means and when I gain a skill or when I lose one. Also I believe the advance sword judgement says works on spell immune, when it means skill immune. Still though, 5/5 game!

+ - !

(6)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Appreciate the feedback and glad you liked it! Yea the Set Item stuff was a bit hard to convey in such a small amount of space. Picking up an items with a Set component is supposed to tell you what you will have vs what you will lose. So if you swap a fire piece for a water piece it'll say Fire 1/4 up top, and Water 0/4 in the bottom for example, depending on how many other set pieces you have equipped. Good catch on the wording, I actually didn't notice that and you're correct :)

Under rating threshold (show) judgement isn't working

+ - !

(5)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Judgment activates when you kill the last enemy with it, so you'll need some timing with casting it. It should grant you extra victories, and if you have auto-advance turned on it'll move you forward if you meet the kill requirements. Good luck!

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) A glitch to insta-kill the boss for the developer (who did a spectacular job!) to fix and anyone looking to beat the game quick. Using the sword skill Advanced Judgement 1-2 battles before the boss will count the boss node as a victory and you will complete the game without facing it. Avoid doing so for the challenge. Well done PEACHTREEOATH

+ - !

(10)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks so much! I'm happy there is an audience out there looking for this type of stuff so I really appreciate all the feedback. I did want to have lots of builds be viable for completing the game, so the judgment skip trick is actually built in. It was considered a weak skill at the time but now I see it's quite strong now that players have gotten better at using it, but I'm fine with that :)

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) perfect way to show that "modern 3D design" isnt all to do a game ! Basic but effective interface here. I usually not happy to see those kind of game where it seems you have nothing to do. But this game keep your eyes on screen and I find myself wanting to finish it and having this nice satisfaction once I won. It's a bit about luck (found the hydra tail not long before the boss, awesome item !!) but you still have to do the good +choices. Thank you for this refreshing game :)

+ - !

(4)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks a lot :) Although it could be confused with an idle game, you're right, it's not that genre and it's actually quite active once you dive into it. I really enjoy innovative game designs which is why I still love Kong and other webgame sites, because AAA graphics aren't super important to me personally. I hope to keep cranking out more games that keep pushing boundaries so stay tuned!

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) Dunno if this is intentional or a bug, but it seems you can just skip the final boss entirely by using sword of judgement (I had advanced version, if that matters) on the fight right before it, as I immediatly went to the victory screen right after using it.

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Yup the judgment skip is a built in strat, nice work finding it :)

Under rating threshold (show) Would love to auto pick loot in the first levels, it gets kinda repetitive the 1321983th reset for the first areas

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks for the feedback! I can see that being the case but autoloot would be tricky to have in this game since it's hard for an algorithm to decide what loot is best. Now if the players don't care about what gets chosen, I suppose I could have it so it just picks the left-most loot. Right now if you wanted to replicate that you could keep mashing [4] to keep selecting that piece so that should work in the meantime :)

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) Seemed dull at first with too much info to process But then the different builds, powerups, and routes you can take make this quite enjoyable My only complain would be the difficulty as once you unlock sets all you have to do is get 3 fire items early + 2 wind/water and you just curbstomp everything with berserk (tremendous agi buff), judgment (to skip anything, even the final boss) and fortress (the skill that resets cooldowns) Maybe add a challenge mode or specific ennemies to make great use of every skill ? Anyways kudos 5/5

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Those are great ideas and along the lines of what I'm thinking. This game was a proof of concept (can a game focused only loot work? dunno!) but I understand where I can take this game much better now. Not only am I thinking about challenge modes and more skills, but also unique maps that can really test the players ability to choose the right route at the right time. Concepts such as treasure that moves around the map, or maybe something like a whirlwind that roams and damages you if you're in it. The difficulty is actually pretty dependent on the player and I tried to tune it for players that don't pick up on the strats quite as fast as you did. Again, hopefully a future version with challenges will address that!

Jun. 17, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) This is one of the best games I have seen recently. What is very interesting: In other games, fights get longer and longer, up to the point where it becomes very boring. Here it is pretty much the opposite. The game starts rather slow, but progressing makes it faster and faster (at some point, you sometimes wish that it would be a bit slower actually, since you barely have time on looking at your possible loot cards. If I had critisize something, there are only 2 tiny points: - The game is too short :-P (but that's what good games often are) - I don't like the dark zones... I'm aware that you have a very short time of actually looking at the loot cards, but at least at the point where you get set cards, it becomes impossible to decide if you want to take one or not. For me, it has been proven better to just go through these zones without taking any loot. So maybe these zones 'could' be replaced. Still, it definitely deserves a 5/5

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you picked up on the vision of the game! You're right that even though the monsters get harder and more complex here, so too do the loot options so it feels like you're stepping on the gas more and more as you progress. The idea was spawned from the question of what would a loot decision game look like? Since that is the core skill for the players to learn, I wanted to keep having the players get better at loot analysis and testing their abilities. You're definitely right that there are instances where it is too quick to analyze everything, even I can't do it lol. So sometimes you need to make suboptimal decisions (like Speed Chess) or forego it altogether like you said for the dark zones. I appreciate the feedback though, and in a full version I'd like to have multiple worlds with different zones, so maybe only a dark world would have dark zones, or maybe the map has moving clouds and it's only dark if a cloud is passing over it or something.

Under rating threshold (show) medium ? not hard? #Break Loop Badge Game by itself is good

+ - !

Under rating threshold (show) Can we get a pause button??

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Good question and one I've considered in the past. I ended up adding slow mode to give players more time to analyze the loop (this will DQ you from the badge though). As for players wanting to pause and step out and do something else you're right, slow mode doesn't cover that unfortunately. I am hoping the runs are currently short enough that they are quick to redo, but in a full version I'll definitely consider this!

Under rating threshold (show) Very well made game. Loved the variety of enemies and the different strategies required to beat them. Maybe adv berserk is a bit overpowered though? Was definitely my favorite skill. Was hooked from start to finish and my only complaint is that I wish it was longer. Hoping for a sequel!

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks a lot :) I wanted to give players plenty of options to beat the game, so honestly there actually are lots of broken strats to do it haha. If I do a full version I will definitely provide more challenges for those folks!

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks for the feedback! The game has a bit of challenge to it. My general advice is that each route requires different builds to beat, so make sure to try different strategies for the encounters. If you slowly pick at the nodes and collect their upgrades, you'll get stronger over time. A high HP build + Earth set (if you've unlocked that) is a safe but slow way to pull that off. Once you have most of the nodes cleared, the comments here have some good advice on builds to use to complete the game. Hope that helps!

Jun. 16, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) Man, I just had an absolutely insane run, blessed by the RNG gods. I thought to myself, I should be able to get Legendary Items unlocked this time, do the Jinxed jungle, that was my only goal. But I got a 3 piece fire set in the first zone, my strength grew so damn fast and before I knew it, in just one run, I had cleared not only the Legendary zone, but two stages beyond it! I got mythical and set drop rate +50%. Hell, I even managed to beat the first zone of the last stage as well. So I think i've accidentally stumbled upon my favourite item set and configuration. Fire set + upgrades hail to slow enemies down and do constant dps. Hitting hard is nice, but you need agility, which is where Berserk comes in much more useful than anticipated. I originally only picked those up so I could use them before I enter the ice zone, but it's a nice combo. Oh, and it also created the odd circumstance where I now have +7 base luck without having unlocked it, haha.

+ - !

(308)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

lol you know what? That was actually the only case where you can get something before you properly unlock it (the +7 luck thing). I had to do it to make the map nice and compact, and I figured it would be incredibly rare for someone to reach that scenario. But you DID. I'm glad nothing breaks but yea that sounds like an insane run and it's actually impressive for players to handle all the new information and enemies that are flying at them when they progress that fast. Good breakdown and thanks for playing!

Under rating threshold (show) Amazing game! It feels earned, progressive, and I love that starting armor tiers change. It's fantastic to play something that actually requires a bit of attention and change, while eliminating some of the more tedious bits. Shows that you don't need auto/speedup for a good game :) Love it!

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Appreciate the words :) You're right that I had no intention of making this a non-active game. The inspiration for this actually came from Diablo. Usually I get pretty bored of Diablo endgame and it becomes repetitive grinding, and the main thing I'm interested in is getting Uniques and figuring out how to add them to my build. So I wondered what would it be like if I make a game that automated the combat but focused on rapid loot selection, so here we are.

Under rating threshold (show) Judgment doesn't seem to grant additional victories when used to kill the last enemy in a fight. Is it a bug?

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

It should be working. You need to time it so it last-hits the last enemy in a battle. If you do that, if you are 0/5 kills on a stage, it should go up to 3/5 (or move you forward if you have auto-advance on and you got enough kills).

Jun. 16, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) been active on this site for years and years now and i have to say i love how fresh this feels. its not a TOTALLY new concept, as im sure you know, but its one that feels really under-explored in recent years, so it was exciting to see it again. it almost feels like a metroidvania with how each path gives an upgrade that improves optimization for the next path, on and on. id like more totally optional side-paths, like a one-square path that doesnt lead to the final boss but maybe leads to a hard optional boss with a bigger reward for beating it. theres a lot of room for this kind of board game/metroidvania/gated upgrade idea, so i hope you keep at it! loved this!

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Those are great ideas and you're totally on the same page as me. Rather than expanding with more skills/enemies (which I would do as well), I think there is even more room to innovate on the map side. I think maps with unique mechanics (roaming Hammer bros, shifting paths based on what time it is) could really take advantage of the game design. I am hoping to kick out a lot more games that push these kinds of boundaries in the future. I love incremental/upgrade games and I think there is a lot of room left in the design space, so stick around!

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Sorry you think that! I didn't have any of those things as pillars when making this game. It is most definitely not intended to be an idle game or grind simulator :)

Under rating threshold (show) Holy shit you can get 100% skill cooldown. I didn't need to but I clicked the boss to death with Whirlwinds.

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Yup! I wanted the game to have the concept of dynamic value, as in END might be strong early on, but late game INT might be strong since you can achieve 0 skill CD at some point. Glad you found that, I think it's a nice present for the strategic players :)

SeventhSolar

Jun. 16, 2020

Under rating threshold (show) I got really lucky while going top route with Hail to clear the ice ghosts. I got a ton of potions in a row (also Whirlwind OP) and somehow managed to rapidly speed to the boss, couldn't even tell what was going on it was so fast. I'd only cleared one 4th section before that (middle slimemancers), didn't even have luck or int unlocked. Ended up unlocking int, luck, wind set, and armory on the same run I beat the boss. Whirlwind is such a powerful skill in general, meant I only had to face skeletons and the boss that entire run, used Snipe to trivialize fights where Whirlwind was still on cooldown. Never found out what advanced skill slots do. Such an innovative game, and I loved the skill slot system where you need to plan each run by picking the right skills. Having to sacrifice certain stats to reach breakpoints in other stats on the fly was really fun as well. Incredible job with this game.

+ - !

(3)

Developer response from PeachTreeOath

Thanks for the thorough feedback! I did try to make the game beatable through many means. You just happened to figure out a strong strat pretty early so there was no need to experiment :P I think you understood the vision of the game pretty well - the idea of being dynamic and changing your build on the fly to tackle the routes. I like that you managed to actually handle the reins of the horse while you were speeding through the top area. Most people get pretty overwhelmed there the first time but it looks like you sailed all the way through lol.
