The downloadable version is a lot funner because it runs much faster, try it out.

I enjoyed this game a few months back and glad to see this on Kongregate. It does remind me of the old school atari shooters. And yes the difficulty ramps up quickly and that was the way it was with those old games. Really a great experience overall.

This game overall is a fun and challenging robotron-style shooter, but it's not without its problems. First off, I know the menu is supposed to be part of the experience, but it took me a couple of minutes just to find the start button because of how much it blended in. Second, the pacing of the game is kind of off. The game starts out easy... and stays easy... and stays easy... then gets challenging just before the boss... then the boss really hurts, then it just ramps up like crazy from there. I know there's got to be a phase to get the player acquainted with the controls, but the length of that introductory phase felt way too long. Other than that, the controls are tight, the variety in enemies is fun, and the minimalist soundtrack fit the game well. Good job!

so guys, lets talk about difficulty... I am now with a few LARGE spaceships that shooting rockets, big lasers and that sort of thing... How long it will take untill finish the game!?

I tried twice, but each time I only scored in the low 200k range. Am I doomed to mediocrity, or are there some tricks to doing well? For example, I found that shooting a low row of aliens from the bottom (where they can't shoot me) worked well.

You can't unlock them... though i wish that you could. That's what sequels are for i guess. Flash 9 is coming out soon and i think we may try to release a slightly improved version in a few months.

Question: Anybody know what the other vehicles on the left side of the screen are for when you go to select your character? You can't select them and it seems weird to randomly have them. Can you unlock them somehow?

This game was absolutely incredible! I played it for a really long time, got an extremely high score, and completed both challenges! Make a sequel!!! :D

Ohh, cool. I like the behaviors of the bad guys. Neat weapons too. I just don't like how the menu is almost invisible. It took me a while to find it.

Quality change is missing ... keeps defaulting to low :(
Also, poor sound effects. I know its trying to get the 8bit atmosphere, but seriously, the music was annoying.
Also powerups are impossible to differentiate (or took me a long long while)
