The hotkeys do not work. Only the first time you use them in a match will it activate, and after that it simply doesn't respond. Additionally, the game constantly freezes. It's unplayable.

Great game I loved it all the story music and tons of upgrade options. I did a balanced team on every level except for level 3 act 3. I could not get enough damage for the revivere so I switched to a team of 4 heavies to use there splash on the groups of them. Keep up the great work.

If you're only getting to %50, it's probably the revivers getting you. Focus them down first. I beat it with 3 marines, and a forcer/engineer/medic combo.

This game is great and reminds me of the golden age of Kongregate. The challenge levels are fun and the difficulty ramps really well in the hard levels. Speaking of which, has anyone beaten the last level on hard? After beating everything else, I am only getting to about 50% before I get my shit pushed in. Maybe i need to grind for upgrade money?

Yes the hot keys is not responding after right clicking, need to right click outside the game screen to make it work again. Its a good game. I'd give 5 stars but the hotkey bug must be fixed.

What an overrated game. I guess 2017 was truly a sad year for Kongregate games, if this made the "best of". Awful balance, cookie cutter gameplay, extremely limited upgrades, a Premium class that's game-changing.

Finished the play through, or as much of it as I can. The difficulty curve for this game isn't setup well. It starts out easy, then gets absolutely insane, then becomes super easy again. After getting a lot of relics, all levels can be polarized into either insanely easy or insanely hard. There isn't a middle ground in the last act. The bonus act was the same way. Still, I largely had fun. Two of the challenge levels I couldn't get through. Both in the bonus act, levels 1 and 5. I might eventually get lucky enough to stumble through level 1, but level 5's challenge is absolutely impossible. I'd pay money to see it done. Hell, I did pay money. Otherwise, a fairly good game.

You need to make the popups stop after the first viewing. It's obvious grinding is the only way to get anywhere in this game. Still, I have to CONSTANTLY click through popups every time I start a level and frequently in the middle of one. It's outright annoying.

For anyone looking to bang out the Best of 2017 quest, if you grind for credits on the first few levels and buy around half of the marine and general upgrades, continuing through story mode should help snowball the achievements (I went from having 9 achievements to having 25 within a single 3 hour session). Using a variety of classes/abilities makes for an easy 10+ achievements, since many of them are either "kill X bots with Y class" or "affect X bots with Y ability". I was able to get the badge without beating any challenge/hard mode waves (strategy/defense games like these aren't my forte), but if you're confident you can beat them, that'll probably speed things up too. And a general tip, make sure you pause (with spacebar) during/between waves, it makes it so much easier to set up combos and make necessary upgrades.

Hard wave relic upgrade for free is quite bogus, as you get 1200 for normal and only 600 for beating hard, the difference is the cost of a relic upgrade...

Overall a very good game, but bugs for me a lot. About half of the time soldiers refuse to shoot at anything, sometimes (ex. stage 1) they even refuse to come out of spaceship ffs... The idea was good, and at any other aspect the game is good to include into "best of 2017", but the bugs disqualify it for me. (tested on chrome and firefox, both updated)

while the game does have good music and I am sure a great mechanic, I cannot put my finger on just why I don't like it. I cannot say that any one thing is wrong. It just was not a fit for me, but I guess enough liked it to be part of the Best of 2017, so kudos on that.

Main complaint about game: If basically ANY of your troops die, you're screwed. There is no "recovering" one mistake and you might as well restart. Oops, i mean "Better pay for premium upgrades" hur hur

To be honest, if this game wasnt garbage enough with the half dozen menus you have to navagate through every game and the amount it forces you to desperately grind for upgrades, it has a premium version? No one wants to pay you for your crap flash game. Far better 100% free games on this site. Im really dissapointed in Kong's garbage 2017

This game is great - challenging enough to keep you going, but not hard to discourage. Great gameplay, good balance (kudos to skill reset) and a cherry on top in the form of nerd jokes! Well done 5/5.

Game randomly says defeated when hearts are still full (ie 20/20). Sometimes shield modules use the AP but don't appear/work. Other than that fun game 4/5
