A suggestion, you make it so that the number of ancient souls you have gives a bonus of the same amount of hero souls. (if you have 50 AS, when you transcend you start with that amount of hero souls). Or alternatively you can use AS to buy starting HS.

using an ability by hotkey shouldn't count as a click. it makes it impossible to combine abilities with idle bonuses :(

Idea: For later game, Make a zone search instead of searching through hundreds to tens of thousands of zones for a certain zone.

@mrWood , +3 lives is an already decent bonus by itself. I had my merc go to level 36 with that (plus 2 revival by rubies when the cost is low).
