Hello. Sorry, you are playing an old version, but Kongregate takes several days to update the files I send them. It looks like they have issues with some HTML5 games update that make game files randomly roll back to previous versions, messing up WebStorage save files. For the moment, if you're experiencing problems, I can only recommend either to wait that it fixes by itself, or to play the game somewhere else.

Game is really great but i encounter some bugs.I dont know if that is related with kong or not but i will try to explain.
For some reason it is black screen and 3rd warior isnt hatching when i had a chance to actualy play it.I dont know if you need alot of time to hatch it or it is bug in kong.And on what site does game work properly?

Is there a trick to get the workers to work? They seem to do well above ground. but below ground they just roam around and do nothing most of the time.
You have to use trails and pheromone cloud together: first draw a line with the slime trails, then attract nearby larvae to it with the cloud. Once, larvae found something to do (like a food spot or a wall), they will start to create their own trails to help the other find the spot. So the trick is to help a few larvae to begin their work, and then others will follow. Of course, the more workers you have, the more chances you have that everything goes as planned and having a few larvae in a big room may not be very efficient.
Yes, but it seems to not work on Kongregate with some browsers yet. This is an issue between Construct and Kongregate, check my other messages if you want more information.

when you go down to the second level there's no were to put the resources so they just run around packed with resources also resources laying all over map when you switch around to different areas that can't be picked up when you come back the big larvae is still not spawning (great fun game i love it just needs a little more work) easily a 4/5 atm for me will definatly be 5/5 when you get some more updates in
Kongregate seems to handle HTML5 games update very weirdly. Updates may take hours to be published by Kong, and according to some other dev, they may be rolled back for some unknown reason. I'll try to limit the number of updates and to make big updates more than small and frequent ones, but you can also find this game on another web site where everything is working better.

Auto-chasing target will be nice and also yeah, easier commanding troops movement :) nice game, but the 2nd crack leads to the same arena of the 1st crack..
About auto-chasing, don't wana spoil but there's a special skill for it.
About the cracks, this has been fixed, we just have to wait that Kong publishes the update. You may have to clear your cache, too.
There are problems with the saving system of the engine I use and Kongregate. I'm looking for a workaround but it may take a while.
If you still want to play the game, you can find it on some other similar web site, where saving system works properly.

This bug has been fixed already, but Kongregate is a bit slow to clear HTML5 cache on their server, so I guess it is not available yet.

This is very interesting. I feel like watching both idle and strategy at the same time. When I think about it is more "strategic" than idle, I feel a little boring but on the contrast I am enjoying it.
Yes it is not meant to play at a frantic pace. It is just like your interactive virtual ant err... larva terrarium. There are not many games which are both 'realtime' and idle, most of them are just numbers and I wanted something more visual, that's why I wanted to make this one (even though at suck at art).
Well I thought about it already, but is it really an improvement, as it can get annoying if it lasts too long, you may just want short bursts.
In fact, this is the reason I created drawable trails, they act like persistent pheromones, and best is to use a combination of both.

Still having some fun with the game but there are several bugs I've been encountering. Save still doesn't seem to be working, the entrance to the 2nd area became re-locked without ever even entering it on this play and the larvae don't seem to do anything when i have them running all over it. In the 3rd crack (the first new outside area) there are some strange things going on when stuff dies. Ladybug corpes killing my larvae, slug corpses killing armadillo bugs, dead larva still moving around picking stuff up but not attacking or being attacking until the corpse fades. This game shows real promise though, interested to see where it goes and how far you go with the adventure.
Most of these bugs are fixed now (couldn't reproduce the ladybug bug though, but it may be corrected with the living-dead-fix update). About the saving problem, if you are experiencing this issue, I can only recommend for the moment to play the game somewhere else (depending on browser, changing cookie rules may do the trick too). I'm trying to find a workaround but since I have not full control over it I cannot promise to fix everything.

Woah, played for a while, got pretty far along - then when I left the game idle in a background tab, I came back and it reset everything. All progress lost. :(
I am pretty worried by this saving problem. You can still play the game on another site where saving system works while I try to find a fix for this issue.

looks like a fun game but the text is so small I can barely read it. Also the text bubble gets partially blocked out by the cursor. Would it be possible to move the bubble off to the side a bit more?

I like this game, would love to see a exp system for larva that survive fights or bring in a lot of food, maybe have them evolve from these accomplishments. would like to be able to increase there AI as its annoying to watch 40 bugs wander past everything and if its an idle that would make for better idling the longer its played. would love to have a way to send just parts of my army to different gardens to farm while I work in my cave. only trouble im having is I baught the third larva the 10k and 1k one but he wont hatch. other then that cant wait to see this game grow :D ty sir for the hard work.
How the game works does not really allow larvae to grow like in the first version, but I'm indeed thinking of a way to make keeping larvae alive more rewarding. About being able to leave larvae in a hunting ground, I tried that but it was difficult to balance and manage cheating (as larvae don't face any threat) and there again, the game system makes this hard to add. But the idea is definitely interesting and I'll find something like that for this game or a future one.

Sorry for your bad experience ith this game. It seems that there is problems between the engine I use and Kongregate (I'm not the only dev concerned by this issue). If you still want to play while I find a workaround, you can play the game on other sites like Kongregate where saves work well.

4/5 I like the general concept and design of the game. As a whole it seems to function just fine. I enjoy the fact that it is laid back and not play intensive. A wonderful mix of Idle and active play. look forward to seeing what else is to come with this game.

The future of this game depends on how people like it, but I like doing new things, so if you like laid back management games, stay tuned as this is my favorite genre, and I guess that most of my future releases will be that way (like colony games, contemplative gameplay, god games, etc...) I started game making three months ago, so this is only the beginning. :)

Full map and both sub-maps explored, and never found venom, more than one shiny, or much of anything else. May I assume the game is unfinished?
About the game, there may be several update with new content, but the overall is finished.
Did you get to the second map ? You start finding venom on second map, and first map contains several shinies (not gonna spoil but some are hidden).

I created the largest nest, but I don't see any larvae from it, and it shows up in the nest queue as if I never created it (ie shows 0/0 for that nest.)
Imagos are not created like workers from eggs.
They spawn from cocoon appearing on the nest.
Nests take longer to make largest larvae, and it may take several minutes to hatch (you can speed this up with an upgrade).
EDIT it appeared to be a bug that is now fixed.

I've gone thru the crack to the 2nd underground area and returned to the original, now the crack to the 2nd area says clear to enter again but there's no bug blocking it to clear.
Oops that's right.
This should be fixed now, and should not happen anymore.
But in your case, you'll have to clear the passage again by sending as many larvae ou can on the crack (since the bug is dead, the opening cannot be triggered anymore so your larvae have to unlock all the small invisible locks on the crack to open it by walking on them).

Not sure what to call it but when the larvae sense an ant that area should be a little larger, they can have ants just walk over them and they are ignored and also I have areas selected for digging and the larvae walk up to the X and then turn around ignoring it

I'll have a look on this. Workers can carry only 1 ant though, so make sure that it isn't already carrying something.
About the digging bug, does the lara touches the wall, or does it walk back before touching it ?
Also slimy trails can be pretty tricky, as larvae may prioritize them over pheromone clouds, so makee sure that anything prevents the larva from coming to the wall (trails, another lateral wall, etc)

about the save issue. whenever i leave (or even refresh the browser website) i am greeted with START in the top menu of your game, not continue. So either it isn't saving, or the load isn't able to recognize where the save game is.

sorry, but left game again, and again, nothing saved. sorry to say, but without a working save this game is just a waste of time. that needs to be fixed BEFORE such a game is even released
Save is working well on my side but I may have an idea of where the problem is coming from, I am doing some tests right know and I'll upload a fix soon. Save works but there might be a load problem, that means that you will find your save back once the fix as been updated if you don't launch a new game or reset save file.

and it would likely make more sense to have the nests be locked on the grid somewhere, and not freely placed, to gt better organized, and to be able to move your queen to make it easier to get the walls in the right side removed and the area explored, otherway takes too long to just transport the material
When you discover a new hole, your larvae use it to bring back materials, they act like shortcuts for everything, and also act like "new queen" (except they don't lay eggs :p )
Try to upgrade special skills to have the gliding trails, that may help you if you find that your larvae are too slow.

ok, i played for an hour, left, and came back, and game is NOT saved ??????
and i was meaning it takes too long to get food from the outside, even after having some upgrades, and the flowers don't regrow outside, so soon outside is nearly useless except for the 2 ladybugs tand the ants to get legs. only found one shining thing yet.

Fruits and mushrooms are persistent, they won't regrow so you have to find another hunting zone. Some may appear sometimes though if you empty a level from all its fruit bushes.
Preys like ladybugs, ... aren't persistent so you can chase as much as you want, they provide a good food source (meat gives more food than fruits).

Do you mean that larvae are too slow, or that prices are too high ?
Most of the upgrades are made to speed up the game but with small gameplay changes rather than by simple incrementation. Try upgrading carrying and digging, or to buy the special skills.
Also, I'm not going to add a speed up button, as this game is meant to be half idle, half "strategy".
Maybe I should consider adding some little things to do while larvae are bringing back food, though, or raising base larvae speed at the beginning of the game ?

You can scale them up by zooming with the mouse wheel, if that helps...
