Really enjoyable game, a little short but as the whole thing was split into chapters then that's to be expected. The attempts at humour were generally good as well, and were well placed.
4/5, looking forward to chaper 2

I don't like it. Too many random encounters, pixel sprites mixed with regular graphics, switching from keyboard control to mouse constantly...and I think it is boring.

Nice. I found this game interesting and reminded me of the NES. Excellent job, I really like the drawings of the characters, in the little boxes when they talked. After a bit the music really started to get on my nerves. Other than that really, I think you did great. The storyline was a little shaky, but I still think it was great. The concept was pretty good, and you executed nicely. I enjoyed this it's going to my favorites and can't wait for chapter 2, 5/5.

1 day after I finish it again simply so i can have a save to continue from, there is badges... Oh well, short game, so I'll just complete it once again

it's a sure sign of a good game when the only complaints people have is that they want more of it! 5/5, look forward to the 2nd chapter

Very nice filled-out game. Worth spending the time to play it through. Starts almost exactly like earthbound, but, what the hey, still a good damn game!!

Anyone who even remotely enjoyed this chapter, go check out chapter 2. It absolutely BLOWS this one away, expect a good 25 hours of amazing gameplay, great writing and humor, and even some free roaming and side questing.
Chapter 1: 4/5
Chapter 2: 6/5

Amazing Game...
Really truly amazing.
I love how it picks on the cliche` RPG things like people walking around randomly all day.

It reminds me a lot of Shining Force II I love that game.. (its an old game for the Sega Genesis, an RPG adventure similar to this!)

Awesome game. One of the few flash chapter-rpgs that will actually keep your char data between the chapters.
Well executed timing-battle-system which lowers the repeating feeling of all battles by far, a repitition that is so common in other flash rpgs.
Luckily, I didn't seem to encounter any of the bugs mentioned by other posters.
