I think I comment on this game too much. But here's another one. For a *free* game, the love you have for old school RPGs shows through. I actually look forward to playing this game when I come to kongregate.

Pseudolonewolf, Best rpg game of its kind that I have played in a long time! The walls of text are actually fun to read because you throw in a lot of jokes. I never encountered a bug that all of these people keep talking about. There was so much in the game to do that I played for 21 hours. And all of those hours were amazing. Great game, and I'll be waiting for number 3 to come out. (soon hopefully)

Flaweless gameplay for me, I have no clue what all the other users commenting have done wrong. Very enjoyable game, I love the throwback to NES style gaming.

Bassium, in what way did the game "glitch"? It doesn't help me to fix things if you don't elaborate when reporting bugs, people.
"geni4us", the game wasn't rushed and I put a lot of time into testing and bug-checking; it's just that most of the recently reported bugs are obscure and rely on specific, rare criteria to be met, so neither myself or any of the beta testers encountered them at all.
Making this was a massive project, done entirely by myself, and MOST of it, bar a couple of small aspects, is entirely bug-free. Isn't that in itself worth anything?
Also, you are aware that "Oh and it should be easy to fix teh saving error by either adding a 100x then /100 when saving/loading or else doing a simple remainder check and correct with 1 as the divisor…. really thats just sloppy to leave in" doesn't make any sense, right? What do you think the "saving error" actually is?

I wish I could play after the end, didn't get the zombie dragon badge, and don't want to play another 8 hours just to get it.
4/5

Good game but there is *WAY* too much exposition. Going through screen after screen of text time after time gets very tedious.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
game rushed to production, more care should of been taken both in programing and in the testing phases.
Also i would like to see the A,S,D buttons being usable like X for selection in battle.

There seem to be several bugs remaining that are difficult to get rid of, but take incredible luck to encounter since they depend on such specific conditions... Well, I THOUGHT they'd require such incredible luck that few people would get them, anyway. But apparently quite a few people are STILL getting them... Sigh.
If you encounter any rare bugs like those, make sure you're playing v1.2.0912K (this is specified on the Title Screen), make sure you have the latest Flash player, make sure you allowed Flash to store data if it asked, and refresh the page if you encounter a glitch before loading an autosave! Also check the Known Bugs List, linked to in the Description for this game.

Decent game, but honestly, far too buggy. The first dungeon I was in, the bandit showed up as an error and the battle wouldn't start so I had to make a new save file.
3/5, if even.

I think i found a glitch - in the tainted grotto i pressed enter at the same time that the battle sequence came up. Both the battle scene and the menu ended up overlapping. I think i then pressed enter and i went back to the dungeon moving screen, however the battle scene was still in the background. I could still move around, but everything i had up had the battle scene in the background. I ended up refreshing and it went away.

If anyone else sees what they think are spelling or grammatical errors in the text, could you give specific examples? I'm not aware of any myself, but sometimes people mention them, so I'm curious about whether there are ACTUAL errors anywhere, or if people are just noticing intentional spelling or grammar "errors"... (I use those often enough to give certain effects, after all.)
If there ARE actual errors though, I'd want to know where they are so then I can fix them!

Definitely far too much exposition here. Sure it's important to deliver plot but some of these guys seem far too keen on launching into a two-page, badly thought out ramble on the nature of good and evil, or whether men with beards are as attractive as they think they are, or whatever. Now I know random characters who talk too much can be funny, but you can have too much of a good thing.

Very good game, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Self-referential meta-humour isn't everyone's cuppa, but then nor are final fantasy-esque RPGs. It's not perfect; there a quite a few bugs and typos, but I appreciate the amount of work that's gone into this and tip my hat to Pseudowolf. I look forward to the following chapters with eager anticipation.

i love the game but cant get the second hard badge because i killed the dude in the gem mines so i cant get key number 3.
wish there was a new game + option or something like that.
that'd be ace.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
dont be a hater this is the only game online that actually has plot so it has to make sense by talking. if you are a hater then go play warlords or sonny but if you are a good player play this

It's not a bug that you can attack yourself, you might need to do it so that you can remove sleep from a character or something...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's not a bug that you can hit yourself - it helps with sleep effect sometimes (make Emela hit a sleeping character).
Too much talking? Come on people, it's an RPG, this genre is about talking as well! (besides combat, levelling up characters, buying new stuff and so on). It's called a plot you know - for me it's one of the most important thing in RPGs and the creator did a good job there.
For me (owner of a low-end machine) Mardek 2 lags bad... I wonder if there's anything that could be turned off to speed things up a bit (I mean as an option in ch.3).

Attacking yourself, as has been stated by Pseudolonewolf, can be strategically advantagious. So can healing the enemy.
It's not that uncommon to get so strong defenses in one element that you get a negative % damage, and at that point damage is healing and healing is damage.

Great attention to detail with character models, waaay too much text which wasn't interesting at all. Game hasn't gotten any better since the last version. 2/5 for excessive details and throwbacks to old games, however still a complete ripoff and boring.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh come on, don't make a game that needs both hands on the keyboard and the mouse. Combat is boring, very common rpg style *yawn*. Random battles are a thing of the past, games have evolved past these mechanics.

i had a glitch where i accidently pressed menu (enter) and i got a fight at the same time
then the enemy was stuck and when i fought someone it went crazy

Excellent game, especially for RPG fans who can stomach all the dialog. I personally enjoyed all the friendly jabs at the genre's cliches, and the mixed fantasy/sci-fi setting is interesting. However, there were a couple of glitches (Mardek's inventory getting replaced with the Key Items, the Smite thing, and one where loading a file saved in Social Fox's tomb caused the game to go black except for the party sprites,) that keep it from being flawless. Still, it's a very solid 4/5.

Too much story and bla bla for a flash game in my opinion. I also don't like these scary Nintendo-style graphics at all.
Mediocre at best, I prefer more action in a flash game, like Sonny, Monster's Den etc.

I love this series, though I found an odd glitch. I got a trilobite key and went to check my key items. I left and went back to fighting and stuff. When I got an item my non-key items began showing up there. Now my old inventory is completely gone and I'm able to clone the trilobite keys. Still a great game and now I don't have to find the keys!

a great storyline with nice characters and an awesome customization of weapons and the items are nice. the enemy designs are hawt did anyone help you make those enemies.

Hm, a bug. I was standing in a corridor in the catacombs with the normal 3 party members, then added Vehrn. He appeared next to me and then started walking through the walls as he tried to follow me.

Taz3, the map where you got 3/4 chests, there is a chest on another....I explain, there are 2 chest on the same one, the chest at the down right corner, there's at this position

Pretty cool, I like the humour, I like a good storyline, but sometimes the walking and talking take too long. 2 problems so far though: I killed the bandit chief, went back to his cave with the 3 members you get after the graduation ceremony. Casted Aqualung on everyone, went ot the end of the pier, and nothing happens. How do I get in the water? Second problem, in the room before the bandit room, it says I've only found 3/4 chests, but I have explored the map fully. Is there a hidden one, or is this a bug? Thanks!
