I honestly think that the reason this game has only a 4.3 is because it was included in a Kong quest thing, and thus a lot of people who would be bored by any RPG felt the need to play up to the end of the Sun temple, and therefore felt entitled to rate it. Which is really sad, because this game is way better than any other game on this site IMO =(

This one time, in '96, I visited a water temple. I have hated every water temple since then because they all remind of me it with their puzzles!!!!

This game is absolutely one of the best games I have ever played. It's well made, it's engrossing, and most of all, it's impossibly clever. The ingame dialogue is enough to warrant 4 stars, but paired with its amazing plot and gameplay it well deserves 5 stars.
One small glitch I noticed: When I was sorting through the item storage screen, I accidentally pressed Z and a moment later clicked on an ManaBerry. The Berry stayed in my cursor, and the storage screen faded away. It was easy to fix; all I did was press X again and re-maneuvered to the same screen. Just a small thing I noticed.
Great game, Pseudolonewolf. I'm eagerly awaiting for more; keep it up!

@lawlpielawl hell no i had level 50 mardek and i have beaten all the solo arena's (that was tactic's and the best one but hardest was the Inventor -_-) THAT depended on Tactic and strategy however i play vs animus and no matter if i would have 50 magic defence and all Null's he would still kill me cause of the Anahilation Wich kills everyone except my Robot. And the most absurd part is that i need the robot on my team and i need to be constantly healing. Wich i cant afford to do because he will just use his Ion Storm wich kills most charecters unless they have Astral Armor. Wich is absurd since The Solaar and Legion cant wear them :(
the problem isnt the fact that he has instant killing moves. ITS BECAUSE HE CAN USE IT TWICE. And no Null is going to protect you from Anahilation and Ion Storm at the same time. Wich is rediculus
if they wanted to make this boss fight fair. They wouldve taken off haste and given him more Single target,Non instant killing abilities.

@MrDouche No, I would rather have a challenging boss fight. I've beaten this game (going on my second run now for all the medals), and I enjoyed the difficulty of the bosses. You have to observe the bosses, then find out what skills would be good to defeat the boss. It requires you to think, which is what an impossible badge is all about. Some bosses with haste are already easy as is.

Let me tell you all 1 thing that is wrong with this game -_- its just unfair about the superbosses and bosses
its not because they are hard to kill... its because its impossible to counter attack when they are constantly using their ultimate attack and have haste on them at the same time. you need to make them use it less often like make them auto attack more or just remove the haste spell. that will make people complain less and it will make people enjoy the game more. Because its just frustrating to fight those bosses. I would rather have a fun easy boss fight. then an impossible to win boss fight wich makes you Frustrated and Bored.
games arent only about being hard. They are meant to have Extreme fun in them. Rate up if you agree

This is probably the best RPG I've played in years. The overworld NES-like sprites really appeal to me (I've always liked that style), and contrast (positively) with the in-depth battle graphics perfectly. The game also has a deep, non-linear plot, with plenty of side-quests and backstory. For those who've beaten the game, its fun enough to play through over again, which is rare for a story-driven game. Its good for both the casual player and more serious players. All in all, an excellent game.

@ people complaining about sticky keys. It's because you're using Internet Explorer. Use a different browser or go to the Tools → Internet Options → Security menu and uncheck the ‘Protected mode’ box.

Alot of people have been posting " I accidentally sold the evening star from the gizmo-meter quest back at the sand-flow caverns, is it possible to get another one?". The answer is yes, and although im not aware of another one besides this one, the second one can be found in the Tainted Grotto. Simply go to the room where you first battled " The world's saviours" and you will notice a dream circle on the map, enter it. Explore all possible avenues and eventually you will discover it, along with multiple valuable treasures. Sorry for the lengthy post but i just want to make sure it's clear and concise for the confused.

I dont understand why, but when i press 'X' during a conversation in this game, NOTHING HAPPENS! any1 know what to do?

btw the below is what the security guard says when you kill a security demon. i was going to post something funny to follow it but i thought it didnt post properly
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
there is no bestiary entry for the security demon (yes i killed it) it wouldnt be much use to most people but it would be nice (the caption could be something like "you killed it!?!?!?!? how?!?!?!?")

Oh. Uh. Thats not good. Hmm! Uh, ok then, sir! You can go through and do whatever terrorist activities you like! Go on. Knock yourself out. Please? since clearly our security can't! Uh... please proceed to the portal! we wont bother you again!

I really wish I could get past the controls. I love this style of RPG, but the controls just ruin it for me. I wish there was an alternate w/a/s/d setup.

Meraeador is invincible MAWHAHAHA.... But seriously gave him the cursed beret thinking that he doesn't use any skills and entered his solo tournment he absorbes all of the attacks and can't do anything.

@beachhead In addition to asdjklcolon's comment, you could also rethink your strategy. Use a different party, change your equipment, etc. I'm sure there is some forum post that can help you.

Has anyone noticed that when you press z when a blue exclamation mark appears over Mardek's head, you will avoid the battle completely?

Wow...this game sucks. I get killed sooo fast because everyone sucks on my team. Epic Battle Fantasy 3 is soooo much better than this game!

It has come to my attention that this game has fallen behind in the best Adventure and RPG games on the site. It is now behind "Arkadian Crusade". I say that we all give this a 5/5 (as it should be) so we can get this game to where it should be, the best game on the site.

I understand the retro and nostalgia thing (although there is arguably a reason why they don't make RPGs this way anymore), and while it doesn't bother me too much, it doesn't really enhances my exprience either. That said, I find some of the sprites ugly (Sharla, for instance) or just unclear. I can't really stand the music: the few I have heard have weird major/minor mixes, they're pretty repetitive on average and not partilarly original or well done, although they do fit the moods. And at least they're original. I can't stand the humor either. I'll admit I prefer when a game takes itself seriously, and I particularly despise the constant mise en abîme fan games often tend to resort to, where the characters refer to out of context things that hint at us, the player, or worse, address the player directly.
Anyway, I understand the negative comments are mostly a matter of taste. Just creating (and finishing) it is quite an accomplishment in itself, so good job for that.

very nice game. all the basics of a good rpg are there and well balanced. The best part is the humoristic touch you put in it. i've never laughed like this playing zelda or finalfantasy. I'm a bit nostalgic of these games, that's why i really love the one you made. that's a 5/5 for me. Please continue your good work !!!

The most amazing thing about this game is the fact that Psuedolonewolf apparently made best flash game ever made... alone.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
(cont.) Many parts are challenging, but the path to get there helps you build up to it. I.e., good balance. Story line is intriguing. The only time I had to grind was to get enough monster fangs to build items. (If you've played Mardek 2, sold your monster fangs to Duegan's father and haven't started #3 yet - go back to #2 and buy the fangs back!) I really dislike that you can only save at map specific points. Also the whole Internet Explorer problem with 'sticky' keys is particularly annoying in this game. None-the-less, I completed the game, earned the impossible badge (though I haven't received it yet - grr), and loved almost every minute of the hundred-some hours it took.
