As an RPG, this game should be terrible. The reaction system is interesting, but horribly implemented(try mastering a magic defense reaction within your lifetime). The story and dialog try way too hard to be funny but fall short, making the game embarrassing to play. But it still manages to be fun, especially during the more challenging stretches of the game and the boss battles. And you really have to appreciate the effort put into it, despite its flaws. 4/5

OMG!!!!11!!!1!1!!
thank god deugan came back as lone wolf. i think. i hope its him. sounds like it would be, green armor(earth element is green), quite like he was, and "seems like a zombie" which everything from earlier on in the game seems to come back as. woot!!1!1!

@greengaby9 there is no bug, you have to activate all the gem switches to get to the purple gem switch flip it so its on, then turn OFF all the OTHER gem switches, this will give you a clear path to the guardian, thus the crystal.

Hey, I found an esthetic bug. Solaars front left leg looks as if it was cut off or something if she dies or in the animation if I win.

A lot of things have already said about this amazing game, but I am going to say something about the music. Seriously in this game you better music than commercial games! Especially towards the end game I got similar feeling that I got so long ago playing Breath of Fire 3.
Not many games manage to do that. Pseudolonewolf for a one man you really know how to make games that makes the players amazed as reading all these positive comments points to.

This is quite possibly one of the greatest RPG games I have ever played. The humor is truly great and all of these FF fan-boys need to shut up and play the game through and actually enjoy it. No complaints about the game thus far.... There are absolutely no flaws with this game! Can't wait to see the next 5 chapters in the 8 part RPG story! :) I don't know why I am writing this saying it will disappear in the next 5 comments....

Excelent game! Definitely best game here and one of the best game I've played ever (including commercial ones). Nice story, interface, some fresh (for me) ideas, great skill system, ... Only music could be better, but anyway, it isn't so bad. I wish commercial games would have such wonderful gameplay.

I love this game for all it's worth, i played through it again because i missed a miasmal chalice but had a great time doing so! 5/5!

Great game, but they should seriously let you save after the fire guardian fight. The Fire Guardian is a pain (at least to me) and having to fight him over after getting owned by the Saviors is just annoying. Even so, 5/5 and favorite.

5/5, and one of the few games I think actually deserves that as opposed to a 4.5 or so. The sheer length and scope is impressive, especially combined with the rest. The systems are good, the difficulty reasonable, the usable characters are numerous and different enough, and the story was excellent; a lot of the game was silly, but the dramatic scenes after the start of the point-of-no-return were all very well-done. (Particularly the revelation of the true nature of a certain character; Dreamstone #17 was painful to read.) I hope to see the later episodes fairly soon!

Although not being a huge fan of RPG's I had alot of fun playing this game. What saddens me though is that there are still people who call it a rip-off. Its like they never played either of the games they're talking about!
Really a great game 5/5 and I hope you win the 1.5k $ prize

I really love this game. Not only might this be the best game I've played on Kongregate, this is one of the best games I've played on any console. You've surpassed a lot of the games you're trying to parody, and I really appreciate you letting everyone play it for free. There's a minor bug I've found, in the Fire Temple. For some of the maps, there are streaks of fog-of-war that cover places I've already been. I think it happens when I exit the room and come back in. It happened in the lower left POWER and SPEED challenge room, and the map just below where you meet the World Saviors first in the Fire Temple. It doesn't detract from the game in any way, just thought to let you know in case you're a perfectionist in your programming. I'll let you know if I find anything else. Thanks again.

I hope this wins the 1,5k $ prize at the end of the month, I can think of no game more deserving of the prize at the moment

This game is amazing, it has a story, solid gameplay, and is able to take up alot of your day, and still keep you from being bored with it.
My only complaint is that there are some things that you can simply miss out on, most notably certain equipment. Now i don't have a problem playing this game for hours on end, but i dont want to spend several hours in the same location, fighting the same battles, just because i lose the opportunity to gather certain pieces of equipment.
Other then that you got my 5/5. The story and battle system are just phenomenal for a flash game. The way you use the expressions on people's faces in dialogues makes it easy for me to get a glimpse of how they are talking (which helps with the humor).

I reaallly love Mardek-RPG, I've played the previous chapters 3 times xD (once to pass, second to check every hidden secret, third - the revamped version, to have an advantage at the beginning of chapter 3) and i never got bored. I'm still playing chapter 3, but i can't wait for chapter 4...etc xD
BTW... Im in the dark temple (started again after the revamped 2nd chapter) and i have LOOOOOTS of reactions on Mardek already... 1) he kinda feels almost immortal - i wonder what abbilities you will think for him for the next chapters 2)I wonder if its ever possible to have all reactions equipped xD (about 100 RP's should do) - what lvl would he have to be? Is it possible to get him to that lvl?

To hell with anybody hating on this game. Best RPG flash game you can find. I thank you, Pseudolonewolf. Amazing. All three chapters, simply... amazing. I hope you never stop with new chapters. Make the first ever non-ending RPG flash game. = p That'd be fresh.

only request is some side dungeons towards the beginning of the game. other than that great game by itself and even more great since it has the limitations of flash

This is a great game, It is extremely obvious how much time and effort went into this (and not just from the three year delay). The MARDEK series is one of the funniest games I have ever played. Legion is by far the most hilarious thing ever. I cannot wait till MARDEK 4! 5/5 without a doubt

Oh, also, any way to add a method by which you can split items more than one at a time?? Splitting a pile of 20 potions three ways takes a loooooong time.

This series is really sweet. It's been ages since I've seen a decent RPG, and you really did a good job of capturing that same feeling that the old console RPG's had.
My only issue is that, when dropping characters or moving between chapters, might it be possible for characters that leave the party to dump their items in the item storage, rather than waltzing off with a bunch of good gear that I wanted to keep? There isn't really any moment that it would be feasible to strip them and store stuff before the end of each chapter and it's a bit of a nuisance. Otherwise, 5/5.
