great game! beyond that it is impossible to describe. i've played the previous games and they were fantastic, but this one is better (and longer) than both combined (i also got all the badges for previous games so i know what i'm talking about). i love the new features such as the turn shower...thingy. i also love the time you put into dialog and especially the time you put into music (and yes we do appreciate the "secret dungeon" music). i feel bad about writing a critique when i don't even have all the badges yet, but who cares? i proudly rate this game five out of five stars.

@HYS wong no, it works in all of them. Even though it is all dead and grey inside of them, if you spend enough time you will get enough battles to fill the chalice. Trust me, i did it.

dude first time i played the mardek series i hated it. it was boring and nothing but a short game[ch 1] thenmy friend told me to try it again but on the 3 ch and now i love the game ive played through the game up to the lizard people almost 2 times
[first time i didn't complete first 2 ch] [second time forgot to grab all the cool weps in ch 2] and now im on my 3 time and i don't know if i forgot anything[i hope not i forgot bout the arena and undead dragon boss in ch2 though i have a new game on that so i can kill the dragon and win the arena :D]

You can still get the miasmal chalices even after you get the Crystal! you just have to go back up to that temple and fight the guys that are still there

Aalia cheats after you fight the Fire guardian...she heals on EVERY turn, and she does it to everyone on her team. It's impossible to kill her

Ya know?I've defeated the bone demon with my team only on lvl 18!I used the "Noxious Bomb" on him.He got confused and used "death" on himself and died!!!! LOL!!

Well, Aecus... the only thing that you'd be missing is probably the most important plot development in the entire series (at earth temple and nothing plot-wise has topped what happened in ch.2 thus far). Oh, you also won't be able to import your data into ch.3 (I think you know that already) so you'll be under-leveled at the start of the game and w/out a few skills for your party. Your best bet is to train on droma (plural) and be near the save crystal while training so you don't accidentally get killed and you're able to keep Item usage to a minimum. best. series. ever. i gave up on the zecond one because im stuck on the battleship and i cant get past the guard. i cant even do 1500 damage to it before he kills all my ppl. i hope not much has happened after that. still, like i said before, best. series. ever.

I have one word: wow! This RPG is awesome with its unique battle style, characters and funny scenes/dialogues. I can't imagine any better combination + the music is superb =^).
P.S.: I discovered that you can skip battles containing weaker foes. When encountering a blue exclamation mark, just tap 'Z' and you can walk further carefree. I hope this helps.

on the item selection, could you not have it go to [continue] if you choose a person for one item? instead go to any other items in line? i lost the gold gauntlet QQ

who the heck cares if its a ripoff its still an enjoyable expierience with lots of humor.
however the chest bosses are so dang hard! killable with alchemist fire though hehehe...

Ahh this game brings back old memories to me from ChronoTrigger, Legend of Zelda A link to the past, and final fantasy 1,2,3 ( and maby 4) and every other rpg game that had SNES styled games
