For those of you unsure of how you can change your damage type when berserked for the tournaments, consider using soulstrike. If you don't use the attack reaction, you will deal the weapons element instead of the wielders. If you want to defeat the warport monster, do not use it unless you need to for plot, do everything you can on your current side before travelling.

idk how mardek 4 will work out...won't our team be too overpowered at the start? (for those who continue from mardek 3)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ArusDaryl If you equip a weapon with a different elemental affinity than your own, you can attack with two different elements depending on if you hit the action bar or not.

Seriously? Berserk NEVER wears off?? I'm fighting the Flame Soul in Zach's tournament, and it Rage Chord-ed me on the first turn. As I'm immune to fire, neither of us are actually capable of killing the other, and this is really just going to infinite loop until I close the browser tab? What am I supposed to do, just keep starting over in hopes that he doesn't use that move?

best flash game series on the web. Sonny and the Arkandian games are no match to Mardek. Can't wait till Mardek 4 comes out. 5 stars just by listening to the music.

Is this game glitched or something can''t seem to recruit Gloria even though you needed her to find the city, which i did without recruiting her and i have tried everything but nothing works to get her to join me.

@amosfriend, I had played the previous chapters, but on a different computer, so I didn't have my save file to import. I went back and replayed those. It's pretty noticeable how much easier and less frustrating Mardek 2 was. But after importing my save file to Mardek 3, combat is SO much less frustrating and more enjoyable. Thanks!

@reelperson I did the same when I was having issues poisoning him, and he cast Death on himself twice, but both times he missed, I was really hoping he could have done it, too.

@iamthemasta I beat the security demon by loading up on Noxious Bombs and lobbing them at the demon until he became confused and cast death on himself. It took a while, but it was amazingly funny.

@Punisher2099 Magic Shield will cut anything related to magic in half. Shield will cut anything related to physical in half. Potions are neither, so don't get cut.

Tip for anyone playing the game: (M shield spell) reduces how much healing you will receive, it seems to act as a magic def barrier to healing.

By the way, if you wanted to ever defeat the security demon (It's incredibly rewarding; took my party from 19/25/21/18 to 21/27/23/21 and the after-fight dialogue is hilarious), note that you can only do it on your fourth warp or earlier. My party was Gloria/Elwyen/Solaar/Mardek. Gloria cast Null Air, Mardek cast Morality Block and Shield (all on everyone). Elwyen used Ballad of Balance (Goznor Magic Shop, secret shop area) to prevent normal attacks from killing everyone, and Solaar normally hit him with Viper Fang (Lifewood treasure chest, with a Rogue Fairy trapped in the chest it's in) and the Poison+20% reaction. Solaar Spirit Grafted whenever anyone needed mana/power/whatever and attacked whenever poison "ran out". Poison deals 3000 a turn, and it heals 100 a turn. Unfortunately, you get a Gold Warport Pass for defeating it, so you can't do it again (But you get to keep the original ticket! Extra plot item! Hooray!)

@doomslayer take out aalia first, then bernard, then bartholio, then bernard. Also, do morality block to stop Bernard's 'Heh' attack. Heal yourself before the battle, and take off all negative affects.

Can someone help me defeat those "heroes" that we could easily beat in Mardek 2? Bartholio, Vennie, Aalia and Bernard. Any tips? I could relly use some, because before that, you have to fight an exhausting flame guardian boss, and it's annoying me to bits and pieces, getting beat to the ground everytime.

At the Warport...
Security Officer: "Do you find me attractive?"
Me: "not really"
Security Officer: "TERRORIST!"
I find this hilarious and enraging at the same time!

EBF4 is good if you want a more silly, but more diverse experience.
Mardek 3 is great if you want an old-school RPG... making fun of old schoo RPGs.
Both have their merits. Both are flexible in different areas.
I play Mardek for the story and world, and EBF for the combat.

@Turkdude285 No-no-no-no he is saying that he doesnt understand why people DONT like the game. He feels like people should like the game

Brockisnothere,
I understand that you dont like this game,
but this awesome oldskool RPG.
EDF4 isnt oldskool.
So let us like this game

I don't get why people don't like this game. Is it the pixel graphics? Those are easily passed over for me; much better than the annoying chibi graphics EBF4 has. The combat is fun and simple, relying on a 4 element circle plus a few other elements which make this game similar to pokemon in a way. It has rewarding loot, a good story (two things that EBF4 lacks) and has a lot of status effects that make sense and aren't too hard to get rid of. Next, it has an engaging amount of content and replayability, unlike EBF4. Heck, I've commented here before, but MARDEK just has so much more redeeming qualities than EBF4 that makes the game fun and not a drag. So please people, open your eyes. This is a good game, sure it has its flaws, but so does every game. It's like another poster here said, it's a GENRE that it is making light fun of, not a copy off. Thank you for reading if you did, I really wanted to get that off my chest.

I really disliked this game. It took every horrible thing about 8-bit RPG's and brought it back to life. I am not an RPG hater either. I actually enjoyed the Epic Battle Fantasy series. Not trying to troll...just my opinion.

@klimtkiller Ballad of balance forces damage to be distributed evenly and perfectly. Due to this, Elwyen can't be 1hp and use Survivor.

Once you just TRAIN the skills and FINISH them before changing, it'll be easier. Also, look at which resistances each item gives, which could lead to healing from damage instead of getting hurt.

Hey, Kakoka, If you want to beat the molestors, flee from all the other battles, save your strength, then pick one character as a healer, and let the others handle whatever attack tactics there are. Also, check the molestor specs while fighting him, and try to find weaknesses. You'll have to kill three of those, and it's not gonna be easy. I wish you the best of luck.

if you've already completed the sun temple, how do you get a moonstone? i need mardek to learn regen but i can't. I looked up how to get moonstone, and it only drops from things in the sun temple. I've already completed it.

For all you people out there who are complaining about the first part of the game, it's not that difficult. If you've ever heard of strategy or maybe even TRAINING, you might not be complaining. Oh yeah, and good luck with karnos... and animus... and the elemental guardians... and the demons... and qualna... and the pixies... and... well... you get the point.

Well, I'd suggest playing the other chapters before this one, because
#1, they're amazing games that add to the storyline
and #2, you can build up all sorts of resistances, such as sleep, poison, curse, etcetera. It makes combat more fun.
I was working through this chapter before, lost all my data(Unrelated reason), and I've been working back up to here. I think playing the 2 before makes a difference.

Well, acote, let me tell you, nothing as ever been able to one shot any of my characters(excluding Sharla the wind mage).
This game was never designed to be rushed by in a breeze. And i assume you do this.Strategy over Levels, strategy over levels...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Fine, saying "combat is very frustrating" gets people up in arms and downrate. If I'm wrong, then what am I doing wrong? From the very start, things can pop out of treasure chests which one-shot your characters, and there are tons of debuffs like confuse and sleep from pixies before you can act. Monsters in the dreamworld are immune to physical and a few magic attacks, drawing those fights to a crawl.
