5/5 pseudo makes great games i dont think you should criticise him and if you gonna do it then at least make sure you make something better
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I agree with the suggestion that the low jump should be a single key instead of shift+A, maybe just shift and it could be customized...I find it easier to jump normally through vines because I can't press shift+a then left and up.

I think expert mode should be on directly in the beginning, I thought it was awesome in the first game, not having to complete it on easier =o

Very good game, even better (and more difficult =) ) than part 1. I don't know why everyone has got problems with the controls... I think they're very comfortable. But that's my opinion.
Keep going with the Raider series! Can't await the next part.

WTF, peoples?! What is there not to get about the controls? Standard platformer controls. And did it ever occur to anyone that the diffculty is a cause of eneptitude on your part and does not effect how fun a game actually is and so therefor should not effect the rating? 5/5!!!

This is very great game, bringing the good old NES/SNES days back to my memories. I simply dont understand people complaining about controls, what you find wrong in them? Then the same people say platformers like moneyseize and GCJ have great controls which i find to be something so awfull.... Everyone has their own taste i guess..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Why does noone look *into* the game? Instead of looking *at* it? From my perspective, this game holds what it promises! The fiendishly difficult Raider series.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game. In my opinion, though, there should be an "even easier" difficulty mode for people like me who just aren't good at this sort of thing. I got up to the guardian of Fire...

Ohhhhhh how I hate platformers. Uggghhh how I hate Flash platformers on a keyboard... Wait, this is by Pseudolonewolf? 5/5, good game. [No, seriously, I love it all, other than that it's an action game.]
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As far as platformers go, this is one of the better I've played. The jumping mechanism takes a bit of getting used to, but once you learn it the game becomes a lot easier. Also controls are fully customizable, so if they are not working for you, you can always swich them to a more comfortable setting. While some of the jumps can be frustrating, I've yet to face an obstacle that I felt was impossible. Besides, this is a platformer, the challenge is intended to derive from the environment, not the enemies.

Great game. After you get used to the controls (it took me the tutorial to do this, if you don't do it right by the end of the tutorial the first time, one more run or two will help you). After I did, I loved the game. To be entirely honest, it did lag a bit before I set the storage to unlimited, but now its great. The jumping mechanism takes quite a bit of getting used to, but once you do, I really do like it. You have to play this a bit to appreciate this, don't just bash it after skipping the tutorial and just starting the game, or just being frustrated. I personally love it. And that's saying a lot, since I don't have much of a taste for Pseu's games (notably Mardek series...no offense)! 5/5 fave. Going to give Episode 1 a whirl.

Wow, I thought the first game was difficult but damn the difficulty catapulted even higher in this one. I hate shift jumping. Would prefer a single button that is small jump.
Anyway great job and I enjoyed the music.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Thank you, though, to those of you who are supporting this game and understanding what it is meant to be. You are the ones who keep me going with this game-making stuff!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The lag seems to be related to the Kongregate chat, NOT spyware and it's very insulting that anyone would assume something like that. As for why setting storage space to 'unlimited' fixes it, I just don't know, but as I said, the lag only seems to occur with the Kongregate chat anyway (if you run the game on another site or locally, it runs fine). Did you even TRY the solution or just say 'well, it SHOULDN'T need unlimited storage so it has spyware'? Agh... People.

Because Frantic is fun. Games like this are kinda fun until you encounter that situation where there are spikes on top and you have to low jump between ladders. Those aren't fun. The game just gets repetitive and frustrating at those moments. The music reminds me of RuneScape music though, so there's something good.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Psuedolonewolf- The lag spikes are a problem. A simple platformer shouldn't require unlimited storage space, and the graphics of the game are so simple that it shouldn't cause lag from rendering. I have a macbook pro with latest flash, so i'm pretty confident its not my computer. I suspect it's a tracking program or spyware running behind the game, or but who knows.
1/5.

To all you people complaining this game is hard: IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE CHALLENGING! This is actually EASIER than the games it was modeled after, in old games, if you died you needed to start over from square one. Go back to playing mindless explosion-fests like Frantic 2 if you don't like this. Also, lag does not equal a bad game, it means either A) You were too lazy to do what Pseudolonewolf says to do when you start the game up, or B) Your computer is really, really, really out of date. For all of you that got this far, thank you for reading my rant... >.>
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
it kinda sucks how people complain that this is too hard yet games like frantic get rated so high even though it has equal or greater difficulty. and stop complaining that there arent enough checkpoints. The games raider was modeled after didnt even have a save feature, you had to do it all in one play or else you had to start over.
p.s. if ou still have lag spikes after setting storage to unlimited, your computer may be slow in general or may not even be able to handle raider.

I enjoy an occasional platformer (.e.g. "This is the Only Level", anyone?). But this game just wasn't my cup of tea; it didn't give me a reason to keep on playing: I'd die once in a while, shrug and ask myself ...Why hit Respawn?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is not funny anymore, I downrated it because of:
- too few checkpoints
- too many spikes
- unhandy, nearlystupid jumping-mechanism
- Blocks are always just in reach and then you add spikes you always hit if you "fully" jump
Apart from that: I only liked the idea, the graphics and the story-line
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Psudolonewolf has his own site you know... www.fighunter.com
there is another mardek, check the site for yourself.... i't might be out around december...... By the way who else thinks this game needs badges.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you are still having 'lag spikes' or similar, is it because you have an old computer? Or perhaps something else is running in the background that causes them? I'm pretty sure now that it's not the game itself though... or rather, it may be in a 'it's too complex for your computer' sort of way, but it works fine for most people.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Xaeroecks, "fake difficulty" is stuff like giving a choice of two paths, one of which you can't return from and which will kill you, or just popping a spike out of nowhere unexpectedly. Different physics is not "fake difficulty."
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Xaer, stop making excuses, all it is is that you can not beat the game, so you want to whine.
The game is ok, 4/5. Is a wee bit tricky.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is not fun, you hae loaded it with what is called "fake dificulty" the platforming is not hard because of a challenging setup, its difficult because you made the jump physics atypical, ditto with the spikes, having to find the exact position to jump to avoid either falling onto them or hitting ones on the roof is neither challenging or entertaining, its just banal. That said, fun graphics and decent setup, would be 4/5 if there was real challenge unrelated to weird physics. 3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
after 39 dies:P i had it, but seriously i died maybe much, but boy, i like this, and i dont know what every1 is talking about hard, but it aint, it just look like, if u die on a point, try again and do the next time someting else where u dont die
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also, I included the thing on the title screen that contains the solution to the lag, but people are still complaining about that? Do they just close the 'PLEASE READ THIS!!' box and continue or something?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The spike collisions are 'forgiving'; you only get hurt by a small box within the 'centre' of the spikes. This means you don't get hurt if you graze your foot or head on them, only if you hit them solidly. There are no times where you get hit when you 'don't even touch them'.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
COOL game. I was frustrated with the controls yesterday and was gonna complain but figured my frustration was probably due to my sleepiness. Anyway, played it again this morning and finished it. I like it, controls work fine, some nice jumping puzzles.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
only issue is that if im moving and try to attack it glitches and i either continue moving if i let go of the arrow keys or continue attacking and cant move, gets very annoying and im not sure if its a problem w/ the game or me, i have this issue with many games and need help figuring out why... any options?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Beginner? Doesn't matter. You can't remember everything, so you'll still die if you play a different difficulty. Spikes were crappy collisions, I could go through them sometimes, when other times I was 'hit' by them when I didn't even touch them.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Err, whoops, I should've completed the game before saying all that stuff about the save system. Seems that there is no rank if you load. XD
