I'm not going to present a theory. I have so many, and games like this (e.g. Majesty of Colors, Don't Look Back (though it's based on a real myth), Loved, etc...) always make me think for days. The story is quite beautiful. I love this game, and games like it. Keep making games like this. :)

Very great game. =) I really love artistic games like this. Like some other people said, you can get more out of a few notes, than from an entire movie. I hope you decide to make more games like this. I rate 5/5

Coincidence?

Perhaps in memory of one of the developers friends who had drowned but feels that his soul has occupied the body of the aquatic being in the ending and the name "Jake Elliot" is the name is he who drowned? Can't help thinking that =/

nice ending, probably the best idea of a game ever :) Music was very good for the game and I think it would have been a lot less fune without it.

I think the kid one day went swimming and met a squid or octopus. He befriended it and brought it to his house for a day. Then the octopus went back to its home, the pond. The octopus was waiting for the kid to come back to the pond, to show him it's home.

i think there were 2 children, when dove in, then the whole story, and somewhere along the way, the first kid dove into the water to get eaten by the big squid and then his freind finds a huge squid and no freind

I just realized something! One of the little paper blurbs in the game said his friend was down there for a year. How long has this kid been waiting at that damn pond! My god !

Absolutely loved this game. I think that this... creature that you are following was always like this. Remember the notes about his "eye", not eyes. He also makes a comment on your disability, i.e. your lack of tentacles. In my opinion, they are one and the same, just the friend was more fit for the aquatic environment.

This game has SO much potential, seriously. Maybe if a couple of people got together on it and, say, tidied it up with some smoother visuals, a slight tweaking of the gameplay mechanics, perhaps an opening cutscene, it doesn't have to be anything fantastic, just something to set the scene. The melancholy feel was brilliant. Love stuff like this.

I like art games, but more than art games, I like art games that are FUN. This game is really fun. The sense of imminent death adds great suspense to each and every dive. Simple but excellent. 4/5.
