why are your resources still used if you have the negative event of 'no planes produced this turn'?
Redress the issues of brutal neg events and this would be a great game :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
good game but the negative events are too brutal and when you're doing ok and then get 3 'no new recruits' events one after the other you kind of lose interest.

Suggestions:
Spitfires should be more likely to attack fighters first, hurricanes should be more likely to attack bombers. This reflects how they were used during the battle. It should mean a combined force would have a purpose.
The enemy planes should be drawn from a pool. In such a way if you concentrate bombers later attacks will contain more fighters.

There should be a German version of this. And also build AA guns. but seriously 1 spitfire takes down 10 messchimitts and 5 stoikas and then 5 spitfires cant take down 1 messchimitt and 2 stoikas. Game needs serious Re-balancing and just making planes is a bit boring so you should also be able to make barrage balloons and more planes because there where loads more planes apart from the spitfire and the hurricane, they were just the best known planes. Press + so Rob Almighty can see this post and make a better Version. Good Game though.

"GRAAH over9000 planes are going to attack ************"
Sigh... Intelligence over 50% should give locations, with 75% giving the exact location. Kids, keep Southwest intact, and train spies.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well it gets quite repetitive and after i took 100 german planes down i dont see why i should play until i have 300. 3/5

The main Problem of the game is that enemy shots seem to invisibly stick in the air until a new is fired.
Enemy planes last bullet successfully shoots down a plane: the Bullet will stick in the air and kill anything crossing its position until a new shot is fired by the enemy plane. If the enemy plane is shot down, its last bullet will stick in the air and still kill stuff crossing that position.

lmao sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy completed on 1st go lost no cities but the plane lose to gain ratio needs to be improved

On the same day I got these two headlines: 'British morale at all time low', and 'Victory! Germans surrender'. Umm... so why is morale low?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If I had to make one complaint about this game it would be the negative affect that stops your planes from being built, because of that and some smaller things I had to give it 4/5. Other than that, great game!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Damn thats annoying. I sent out a single plane against 4 and won, but after the battle I had beaten the game so I wasn't awarded the achievement...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
only real question is, if all my workers are sick and therefore not producing planes where does my scrap metal go? it shouldn't be taken away so that you can decrease your gatherers for a day to compensate a lil or at least that would make sense to me don't see a reason to lost your metal your not using

With props to PhoenixW who I'm totally ripping off:
To start off, ignore any incoming attacks and get 10 recruiters. Let a turn go by. Look at your areas, and for each 5% missing, get a builder and put them there. Focus on builder and recruiters. You need one builder per 5% damage. Don't lose any part of the city. 10-15 builders or so should be enough to keep you in shape until you win.
Now focus on getting to 8 workers and 10 gatherers. You need to gather to build. Keep 1.2-1.5 gatherers to builders. Then produce spitfires only. With enough builders you don't need firemen. Repair any damage and you don't need fireman.
Keep your spies around 45. Replace them each day.
Then build pilots and planes and start attacking. If you don't put planes in the air you won't lose them. If you're getting your butt kicked in the air and are almost out of planes or pilots, let the builders take over damage control while you build up your resources.

Please fix the combat system, having one spitfire carve its way through 5 german planes then having three spitfires die after taking down one bomber... its just not...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i had 7 guys, they had 1 and 3 bombers.... the won with no losses + if u think the combat system should be updated to be less chance and give advantages to the team who has more :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
please PLEASE make combat less random example *throw a kitten* entire fleet dies and more controled IE i can see my attack/health/armour(only 3 you acctualy need for this kind of combat) and have a record of the enemy unit example after i fight a junker after the first on dies i see the health the the armour and when i lose a plane it shows the attack also i support every comment I've seen please make a Sequal with advice from theese "so far" good comments please exuse any bad grammar i don't have too good a head for spelling

Abritray winning figure of 300 german planes lost changes the dynamic at the end. Suggest you award victory for a random number between 300 and 350... The British never had any idea when Germany would give up...
For consistency, use 300 still as the high score date... but in game play, let it be variable, we don't know how long it will continue...

I'd like to suggest some sort of survival/super long mode? The game ended much too quickly for me, and I was very much enjoying it!

Tip: Try to get "Heavily damaged district OH NOES" news occasionally. Every Bad News will be compensated by some good news eventually. You don't have to keep every district 100%. Just hold above 55% since heaviest raids halve the city region occasionally. Finished 36 days, every region 70'%ish, and only 150 planes lost. I think Spitfires and Hurricanes should be built 50-50, to overwhelm the enemy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I gave it a 3, just because I'd lose the same number of planes vs a 0-11 attack if I sent out 11 spitfires (for a 1:1) or 50 of em. But when 50 planes vs 3 you still lose 17 aircraft and 12 pilots wtf, over.
and like my last post, only 20 recruiters max so I could literally build a ghost fleet of spare aircraft that sat on the ground rusting because I couldn't train pilots fast enough haha.
maybe a few tweaks in the sequel? :D The radar is in the southeast, so if it was ever under attack I didn't bother with any other areas. Maybe have a factory in the southwest and the north, intel in london, etc. Like different infrastructure in different parts of the country. And maybe upgrade each region, flak guns etc.
Once I had a good enough sized fleet, I didn't even bother with firefighters. But the broken intel, despite what ppl think here, was a good move. That really added a nice touch
oh, and in a sequel you should include iron maiden's "aces high" as the theme song :D

sorry for the double post, but i need to tell you guys something. stop posting things they need to add from WWII, i know this is WWII but its about ONE battle, not the whole war. just put the suggestions that occured in the battle
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
just noticed something. if you defend every area thats attacked, you get a chance of some negative effect from the news. if you fail to defend areas, you get a chance of some positive effects. overall, get more builders and firemen and intentionally fail some areas (not too much, if you are deep in the game bombers hurt over 75% of city health)

1 star out of 5.
When you do a Strategy game, make sure that players won't lose or win only by chance. Strategy means "to think and try it, then see if it will do it".
1 spitfire can face 15 german planes, bu 5 of my planes are down by 1 of them... wtf ? XD

******squadron of 26-32************************** will attack******************************* or the northeast... are you fucn kidding me?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Three of the intelligence reports mentioned "The North" might be attacked. Seeing that it looks likely North will be attacked, I stacked almost all my planes in it and it didn't get attacked lol. Crappy spies.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What I really didn't like about the game was that overwhelming odds on your part did nothing to stem losses. 60 to 10 planes should be a slaughter. And not on the 60 plane side.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There should be one where you are germany getting bombed by Britain instead of the other way round. and how the heck can a hurricane take down 5 mass-whatchamecallit and 10 dossers and 5 spitfires cant?!?! needs to be a bit more realistic
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Overall, the game was O.K., but it had a few major flaws. It wasn't realistic enough, first of all. As others have said, the planes knocked out are not decided by any real factor, its just chance, and the british always get the better of the germans. The german numerical superiority was not really all that well shown, either. Next, as others have said, the British rarely had the better of the engagement, so it seems pretty ridiculous that they always do in this game. Then, I don't like the strategy much either. The strategy the british actually used involved attacking the german bombers AFTER they had bombed the cities, taking the element of surprise. The british strategy for the BoB was essentially bleeding the germans until they could no longer afford it. The real triumph of the battle was industry, not the pilots, which was not shown all that well.
