No damage to any city, barely any planes shot down. "Morale at an all-time low (no new recruits)". *@!$, it's a good thing the Brits weren't actually that pissy during the blitz.

Two reports on the same day: "British Moral at all time low" and "Germans Surrender." I know this is just a flash game but... seriously?
Beyond that, I rather like this. Would have liked to have seen more than just the east coast area mean something. Perhaps plane factories in certain areas or a recruitment center working similar to the radar on the east coast. Just an idea.

because you not only have to gather resorses and workers but train pilots too spitfires are the only ones to build. if you have 20 hurricanes built every round it doesnt matter as you only get 10 pilots to fly. may as well just have 10 spitfires :-P

Some of these late events are quite literally game breaking. Getting a 'no new planes' event right after having 6 of my pilots destroyed was a bit too hard of a kick in the nuts for me to recover from so late in the game. Might be nice if the events could have a bit more spacing out in between them....:S

I sent 4 spitfires against 7 enemies and they all made it alive. then I sent 23 spitfires against 9 enemies and 20 spitfires were shot down?? is there a bug or something?

I played this wonderful game proudly, my statuette of Sir Winston Churchill on my desk to guide me. Games about history seem to be notoriously hard to get right. RobotJam, you nailed it. The mechanics just, well, seem right for the time, even the desperate feel of it, having to sacrifice damage in city areas to protect others, never having enough manpower to deliver a decisive blow, just having to wait the Germans out until they give up the ghost. I'll share this one and play it again. And Again. And again. Bravo! 10/5

I have two main complaints which anyone who knows anything about the Battle of Britain should have been able to avoid:
1) In this game the Hurricanes are useless; in the battle, however, Hurricanes downed more aircraft that Spits did. Of course, the main function of the Hurricane was to take down bombers while the Spits protected the Hurricanes against enemy fighters. Perhaps the game could be improved by giving Hurricanes really good odds of destroying bombers but making them weak against enemy fighters, while at the same time giving the Spits really good odds against the fighters. With such a system, you could use the information from the spies to adjust the ratio of Hurricanes to Spits in each wave.
2) The RAF was vastly outnumbered in the war, yet downed many more aircraft than the Luftwaffe did. The game could be made a little more accurate while retaining it's level of difficulty by increasing the size of the German waves but making their planes more easily destroyed.

PhoenixW u said 'then start attacking' how do u attack, u cant can you? please reply to me someone or leave another comment saying how :)

wait how do you even win, by having what like 300+ planes? you should be able to attack them whilst defending as well and also be able to choose where ur planes go or like what formation. The planes fights are hilarious i sent 2 hurricanes and they had like 10 fighters and bombers, i won without losing 1 plane, they lost all theirs. lol

Hurricanes are useless. You may want to tweak the game to make them serve a purpose other than cheap, bad Spitfires. Great music and sound effects. The bombing animations were still pretty to look at and did not get old, no matter how often I saw them. I was delighted by the way you implemented intelligence percent with report accuracy. We need a sequel !

i don't understand the battles. Even when I have overwhelming force (10 spitfires against 2 fighters and 2 bombers I still lose around the same number of planes as though I had an even force say 3 spitfires)

Grr... the German's are always breaking up my spy rings (-10 spies). I'd say Britain trains really bad spies, but this is the country that trained James bond.

i think this weird... i sent out 50 planes and the enemy sends out 4 fighters and 3 bombers. The bombers die with 1 fighter and all 50 of my planes are dead... very VERY unrealistic.

The game is good but has room to improve. It got very frustrating when you send out Spitfires that out number the enemy planes 2-1 and end up killing 1 enemy plane for every 1 Spitfire lost. For future updates rethink the combat odds so that they are more realistic/fair.

A very interesting game.
For any who think it is difficult, it is likely you are trying to fight every wave of incoming enemy wave.
As in World War two do not get suckered in to fight the fighter heavy waves, target and kill the easier bomber heavy waves. Early game you can even just let the enemy bomb you a round or two in order to build up forces.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
That's strange, i've just destroyed every enemy bomber and left only the fighters and they still managed to do a lot of damage by dropping bombs.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not to bad, But after I waste a bunch of planes I shouldn't have moral go down, That should happen after I suffer heavy losses. so only 2/5 for a game with a little more effort could have been 5/5

It's a fun game with a lot of potential. I think the design is really difficult because it's supposed to SEEM hard and desperate. Winning should feel like limping across the finish line. The Battle of Britain wasn't about Britain bravely massacring the Luftwaffe as soon as they crossed the Channel, it was about holding the country together while the RAF did whatever they could.
Here's my suggestions:
-Make the combat math more transparent(how much better are Spitfires?)
-Instead of ramping up the difficulty through random events and losing an inordinate amount of planes, just have a lot more German planes attack as the game goes on
-Someone else suggested more recruiters. Again, I'd balance this out with more German attacks
Random Idea: Ace Pilots
You'd have to track an individual pilot, but perhaps if a pilot survived X battles he turns into an Ace. You could either keep him on as a more effective pilot, or ground him to bolster recruiting efforts.
4/5

I like the random events but like someone said it seems the negatives one always come once your people hit a certain "magic number".
Another element you may want to put it is the V1 and V2 rockets V1's were easy to take out with fighters but the V2's were unstoppable.
I also dislike the cap on the recruiters, when the game get harder it becomes impossible to recruit enough people and then it becomes almost impossible to win.
I like the random event that go on, it adds a level of difficulty and keeps it interesting however they seem only a few events,
perhaps mix them or randomize the amount of effect they produce. Could also add in ground based air defense or even the Royal Navy as they had anti-air capabilities.
Over all good game.
