Van Gouh didn't cut off his own ear his friend paul did, during a friendly sword fight. Other than the historical inaccuracy this game is odd but quite fun.

If you get stuck or/and you have no idea how to use that single glass on the blue table, apparently you drink absinthe, with a spoon and some sugar ;)

When you manually paint that picture, the sections automatically fill in when you have just about all of the empty space filled for that color/section. Thank God for that aspect, because if it depended on staying well enough within the lines, I'd never get it. XD

I went through in my usual confusion not fully understanding the meaning of many of the actions to proceed. Let's see... got the painting pieces and placed them- OK. Hmmm... collected the bottles and other stuff. Did the sugar cube thing and the sunflower thing- OK. Got the knife and placed the hat... got stuck and tried the use-everything-at-every-place-on-the-screen routine... uses knife on the mirror image of myself... sees my hand shaking while holding the knife... o.o ... O.O ... just cut off my right ear D: (WOW now this series just took a new direction) now wtf could that be useful for? ... uses ear and blood for... -.-' umm, I'm just gonna stop with this comment and continue the game. <:(

For those who are stuck on the drink puzzle: Check the painting with three different shaped bottles - they look like wine, water jug and absinthe. Note the direction of the lines (wine=horizontal, water=vertical, absinthe=diagonal). Now check the painting with the bottles and glass set up. Look at the lines to see which drink should go where, and match accordingly (use the drinks) on the real items.

Poor Vincent. :(
I felt like a little kid again while painting. It was a nice touch. I felt like I was using Microsoft Paint again. Overall, good game. Now I need to go watch Doctor Who again. :)

Hey don't know if it means anything or not (I hear there are secret exits to this game series but I wouldn't know) but if you click an inventory item then click the last inventory square it will activate and the description is ???
Secret, but what?

The drinks puzzle is based on the direction of the lines in the painting. The one with three bottles tells you which bottle is which line pattern, the other tells you where to put the liquids on the table

The drinks puzzle didn't make sense to me, even after watching the walkthrough. Overall a great idea and nice work but a bit uneven compared to the rest of the series IMHO.

the painting on the left next of the bed tells you what motif water / whine / absinthe have, the painting right on top of the bed tells you where to pour them on the little blue table with the bowl in the middle (wine horizontal, water vertical, absinthe sideways). after you do cut off your ear in the mirror and put it in the bowl (wtf? right? just wait) Then ... step into your ear and keep on going until you reach the two doors with the weight contraption, the little snail shell? = 1, the drum = 1, the anvil = 8, the other thing next to the anvil = 4, the big snail shell? = 5, the hammer = 3, put the codes in the right door and step into the room to discover you're a terrifying black ghost (+ this comment so people don't struggle with these puzzles)

@Charon96 There's a picture that represents each of your three bottles, and gives them either horizontal, vertical or diagonal shading. There's a second picture of the table that shows the glasses on the table; within this picture the glasses are shaded based on what the contents are supposed to be. Super obscure, stumped me for a good ten - fifteen minutes, but solvable. I only watched the walkthrough long enough to realize the person making the walkthrough didn't know what he was doing.

How the heck are we supposed to be able to tell what to do with the bottles? Even watching the walkthrough didn't explain anything, I had to follow along step by step.

Very well thought out. I really enjoyed it. Had a hard time figuring out where to get the black cube at the end though, sadly.

*Cuts off own ear. Friend paul is like. Meh, happens all the time. *Turns into horrifying spirit entity. Friend paul is still like. Meh, what's new? *Hands friend paul a hat. OMGOMGOMG YES! Here's a palette for you, bye now!

Does it bother anyone else that no matter which way in the room you're facing, the floor always goes in the same direction?

Damn this game is hard and fun!
Tips on the water, absint and wine:
- Look at the stripes on the drawings of bottles! they indicate how to do it!
10/10 :)

Not bad! But, it's exciting. I ever enjoyed Mine Blocks which helps me improve my imagination, and i feel it better than this. http://2dminecraft.com/view/132/mine-blocks/
