Luckily for me, I chickened out when this first came out, so all I had to do was the final piece for the badge. That tile puzzle is evil!

So I just watched the walkthrough of this, since I'm a wimp and don't really like being surprised (I made an exception for the other cube escape games, but this one's atmosphere has a little more horror than I can stand), but if you just input the code without going through all the steps, is there any difference? Like, a sudden jump scare or something as punishment? I tried it out, but I'm a little too worried to continue

Completion badge is live! Hard one this time, since this chapter is definitely more difficult than the others. If you already completed the game, you'll need to complete it again to earn the badge. Sorry! But at least this will give you a chance to play the tile sliding puzzle again!

Not trial and error. It's by color and shape. Start with the green one in the middle, then click the green and tan. The next color is always on the previous book. Also the shapes tell you which book to click next. If the previous one had a square on it and the next color is brown, then you next book will have brown and a square...

Good game, but there just isn't enough time in Chapter four to do it without it being needlessly frustrating and not fun.

bookcase was actually pretty easy for me, but different perspectives I guess. You just have to click the books that have either the same colour or symbol as the one before it, finishing with the black book. (there's still a right order to them)

Your games are so fantastic. They just draw you in and engage you. Nevermind that a few of the puzzles are farfetched or unfair. It's simply enthralling and slightly terrifying. You convey mood in your art style and thematic choices better than most. Kudos on another fine chapter.

Okay seriously, how are you suppose to solve the bookcase puzzle? I tried almost everything I could think of to try and solve it without cheating, eventually I did go to the walk through but I want to know how you actually know how to solve it? It cant be just trial-and-error

SPOILERS!
Wait but i thought she made it out alive when she changed her past (or if she denied the shadow man in the first place with the green gem but that is just a technicality haha) OR when the phone zapped the mirror hitting the shadow man, was that suppose to kill her?

This is the first time a Rusty Lake game has genuinely terrified me. Have they always been creepy? Yes. Have they been freaky? Oh HECK yes. But I wouldn't really call them terrifying...until the final episode of this game. There was a hint to the contrary in Episode 2, but up to that point, the shadow people had pretty much acted just as apparitions, fading in and out, leaving the player unsure of how much they are real and how much they're a product of the character's mind. But in the final episode, not only do multiple shadows surround you, but for the first time ever, THEY'RE ACTIVELY BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF YOU. Well done, I actually had trouble sleeping last night after seeing that.

It bothers me in this type of game when nonsense, unintuitive steps are required- like using the cigar to find the bug, here.

I love how that stag man shows up everywhere i the end. He's like "Hello", "Oh hi there again!" "You over here now?" "You wondered what was in the box? Only your best friend!"

It's annoying when your computer is slow, so in affect trying to do the time trial in even less time than someone with a competent computer.

I think my only problem with throwing a character who, by all appearances, starts OUT sane and then goes into this room of crazy*but perhaps it's wrong to assume that our detective character here was previously sane*- is that there WAS an interaction with the world that is not enclosed with this room, but we IMMEDIATELY lose that... and get no real reaction from our character? or any reaction about say- the incident in the second chapter. If you want us to question if anything happening in this story is "real" or not- it generally helps to have an anchor of reality and reaction- to help have a comparison AND to eventually throw away and REALLY screw with the player.

Played all the old ones and loved it. I got to say these games just keep getting better and better. Keep on with the good work!

This series is a serious case for the mental asylum: sneaky, creepy suspense with some horrific absurdity in its design. Well done!

Love the game as a whole. I've thoroughly enjoyed every iteration of Cube Escape, which is saying something, since I usually don't like escape games. I think part of what makes CE unique is its weird, slow, creepy atmosphere. I always felt like I was thrown into each situation, with the primary goal being to figure out what the hell is going on. Until the 4th chapter, I felt that this game was the most refined iteration on this theme. Unfortunately, the timed sequence seems a bit counter to everything I have come to expect from the series. Overall, this was a good experience, far and away better than most of its contemporaries. However, I strongly urge you to consider adding an option to remove the time limit. Even if it gave a slightly less rewarding ending, I think it might be worth the time of implementing it. 4/5
