XP gain is based on damage delt so you can get the most XP out of one enemy by upgrading power and using the standard/assault rifle as even if the first shot kills the other two can still hit to do more damage and give more XP. In the end if you have power maxed you will get 8-24 XP just by shooting the weakest of enemys.

if your stuck on the level with the 3 giant bugs,so just use the barrels against them,and take money while your at it

Really need to be able to replay a previous level and save the progress only if u have more credits than in your previous try.
This way u'd be able to: 1°) play your favorite levels withotu having to start a new game, which is always nice. 2°) to finish the game @100% which is important for 100% freaks like me.

A random map generator might be a good idea considering how many people want more levels! :) Like Freecell, a number like 23.743 generates a unique dungeon .. to see if every dungeon is beatable.

I had a lot of fun playing the game. A few suggestions. 1. It would be great if the game had line of sight incorporated into the maps. That way, the player would have to explore the map to see where the enemy was and how to defeat the board. 2. The bayonet was awesome but it made the game too easy. 3. Defense should use up AP. A soldier can use a defensive stance for as many times as needed without any negatives to their movement on the next turn.

I passed a level without getting any money, now I don't know how to re-play it. I don't like that, I'm not trying to grind I just want to try to beat every level with all the money for good gear.

Besides the obvious broken English in the game, I only have a couple complaints about it. One is that it's kinda boring, especially the last level when really I'm just having my guys holed up in a corridor, letting the enemies come to me and get stabbed. Second one is the very small print. I had to get in close or squint my eyes to see it. It kinda hurt my eyes. Other than that, decent game.

I don't have enough for GL for the last level. How do you get enough to buy the grenade launcher if you are already on the last level?

Suggestions:
Diversify Characters-Allow more stats available than total stat points. Having all four troopers identical at level 8 was a bit disappointing
Weapon Options-Instead of one or two weapons that are clearly the best, maybe an array that are each better at a specific type of combat
Equipment Options-Armor or other types of equipment
Moving Through Allies-Having to move around my buddies was a bit annoying. If it was built that way for tactical reasons, maybe slapping an AP penalty on it
Medpacks-Healing seems a bit unfair. Maybe making the healing work similar to the stimpack on usage?
Leveling-Having one character at level 8 after a few levels, while the others were sitting at 2, was frustrating. Maybe you could give bonus XP for killing units and/or surviving a level, with completion XP given to everyone
RP-A tad of character personality would be nice
Keep in mind these are just my opinions; the game is fantastic just the way it is

One of the Best Turned Based games here! Thank you so much! 5/5 stars easily.
One thing I would change is having all the little guys spawn at one location at once instead of shifting from one to the other and back again or some way of speeding thru that.
Also make the game more difficult or add difficulty settings.
One last thing...MAKE MORE! :-)

Um... when my guys run out of ammo, that's it??? Is there no way to resupply? This makes it easy to get stuck in a stalemate / impossible scenario.

Bug: If you go back to the main menu after a victory, it doesn't save your progress and you'll have to do the level again.

Incubation still holds its own as a brilliant strategy game. German game making at its finest.
I like what you've done with this can't have been easy in flash. Amazing that it runs faster than many 2d games as well.

Only real difficulty is the last level. Don't buy all the weapons, save up 400-450 for the grenade launcher before that level and it'll be cake.

While it is a really, really good game it would be nice with more story about what is going on and maybe a little character development. Also the game ends rather abruptly which is a little sad.
But it is still easily one of the best flash games i have ever played so im gonna give it an 8/10 :)

I usualy don't bother writing comments, however, this game invoked so many memories and nostalgia of one of my favourite games ever: Incubation as well as the whole battle isle series which I used to play on my old, beloved AMIGA...yeah those were the days..so please please add another hundred missions more weapons and levelling up of characters! 5/5

great game! Accidently found out you can restart and keep any levels you had recieved so far. although if u exit to menu it does erase it so u have to complete mission for it to count.

Ideas for making this game more challenging. 1: Limited AP's when in defence mode. 2: 'Intelligent' enemies can use defence mode too. 3: Enemy positions hidden unless in line of sight - 'camera' should follow their movement whether enemy is visible or not, to give player a clue; initial positions could still be shown in briefing. Could be a difficulty option. 4: Melee deals variable (random) damage up to a max defined by weapon/ power rather than automatic kill. 5: Creatures emerging from dens should have an attack on the same turn. 6: There should be some sort of penalty for returning home with less than a full squad, e.g. marine is replaced with new 'rookie' with lower level & basic equipment.
To balance this I'd like to be able to replay levels for XP and Creds, and more equipment options (e.g. upgrade a standard marine to a heavy) and weapons. Undo would also be nice for when you mean to move and instead operate a door. Or blow up the barrel you're standing next to!

Superb 3D graphics for a Flash game. I loved the interface, the animations, and the lighting effects on some of the creatures as they go in/ out of buildings. Looking forward to the sequel!
Looks like I'm not the only one who forgot to collect 400 creds for the grenade launcher - the big guys can be killed if you lure them to the barrels though, and made sure I bought one for level 11 instead - sweet!
Disagree with those who think the sniper rifle's no good - equip one marine, train him for range/accuracy/ammo and use him as long-range support (defence mode). Long range kill every time - never misses.

Ideas for improvement:
1: Ability to speed up/skip enemy turn animations or simply play them all at once
2: Ability to see a unit's stats once it's out of AP
3: Don't make us buy an old weapon again if we decide we like it better.
4: More information. It took me a couple tries to figure out what the hell a stim pack did.
5: Option to replay levels, and to replay any level once the last one has been completed.

Great game. Too easy though, especially with defense only limited to weapon heat and unlimited bayonette. With the launcher maxed, it is easy to kill 3 of the big monsters in two turns. More difficulty, maybe more upgrades, and faster game play next time and it will be even better.
About the only thing that took work was destroying all of the dens in the last level before turn 20. As long as you keep the bomber moving and post bayonettes at the dens its easy though.

It needs to be harder. Maybe adding some secrets to find. And puzzles to get throw the stage.
