for those who doesn't know what the helping hand is:
plant a wheat grain on the village, and wait until the villagers build a bridge over the lake

I like the concept of the game, but it needs to be less horribly tedious to go anywhere. I'm sure there are way to accomplish that effect without making a boring game. It's not fun or even interesting to hold down an arrow key for two minutes. Would've been even worse if I hadn't looked at some hints to avoid wasting some time. Not a bad game, though.

village child: I'm starving to death. Stone thing: I'll give you food in about 75 years and you won't be able to harvest it in about another 75 years Village child: we are all going dead by then. stone thing: I know

Nice, sweet, zen, and a little touching at the end. Great job!
Spoilers:
Feeding villagers: Cross the expanse water to the right of the village. There are wheat grains there you can carry back via an underwater route.
Seeking help: More like waiting for help. Once the villagers have food, they will slowly expand to the right. Eventually, building bridges.

I planted grain for the stupid villagers, I still can't get their help. There is no clear way to get past this part. What do I have to do? This game is so freaking slow, I'm sick of restarting it...

"Sometimes, he just had to wait" *Leaves computer on for 4 weeks to wait for winter* "Crap! All I had to to was press space?

I went the whole way to the end with 275 years left. I stood at the mouth of the volcano, faced the direction of those I had passed along the way, and I waited. I let it happen.

Awww... Usually, I don't like games with a "story" forced upon it, but this end took me by surprise, and I was kinda touched. Bumped up a point for it :) 4/5

What a great game! Clever concept, nostalgic graphics, simple, pure fun. A nice slow pace journey with chill music... loved it.
