ok so I have a napolean dynamite skin and an open cieling I set him on fire with fire balls and then put him out with the fire hose which then he went through the roof about 2 minutes later he came back down

Open ceiling+Gravity shifter=lost buddy(equal to the amount of time the GS is offscreen unless you have low gravity) took 10 minutes for my buddy too come back xD
