I have no clue what I am doing and am inputing random values. I have no idea what all these numbers and letters are. Add something defining what all the numbers are please. Not everyone is tech savy. Might be a good opportunity to teach some terminology and get their lips wet so to speak.

Confusing and convoluted. Bitburner is 100x better than this game, and fits the genre way better. This game doesn't even have case sensitive commands...yawn. Artificially slow commands for inject, that lock you out of even typing...yeah, that makes a looot of sense...no UI, no actual code, ugh...

for the confused people - its used (or at least i use it like that) -MAC0- or -MAC1- etc, the # isnt a hashtag, its a number btw.
fun game, i like it

Anybody done a screenshot on the coordinates after using the locate command? I was too slow, but I'm curoius where it points at :)
You can use the 'probe' command to find the port. The usage is 'probe {IP} {Guess}'. For the guess, you are told if the actual port is higher or lower so you can adjust the value and guess again. Hope this helps!

Ugh I thought you could watch the hack ending if you got the pay ending so I wasted a bunch of time getting the pay ending first.

I could see myself losing a whole weekend to this game..in a good way. I enjoyed the active interface, even if it did become a little stale after a while. IMO, lose the voice and resort to text-based conversation. I'd also work on the story, like maybe he works with local police using his hacking skills to find his daughter, or needs to mine devices to break into some large business, or has to extract data from a foreign or local government (using the money from mining to purchase hardwaare/software upgrades). I see a lot of potential for this game. I hope the developer can make it happen. Good job person!

Desperately needs more content and maybe some adjustment for some stuff. For example, no idea how or why to even use IP Shortcuts when you can just type it in the first time and then bring a command that previous used it via the up/down cursor keys. Would have preferred to have access to the SSID index (command being [ssid#] or something?) just like I would have access to the MAC index.
Maybe replace the IP Shortcuts by being able to call up previous commands, instead of that being available from the start? I mean, once I learned to do that my time to do stuff definitely decreased a bit.
Beyond all that though, needs some ambiance beyond the typing. Like the humming of the cooling fan, the clicking you can hear from older computers as they boot up or run stuff. Man, I have so many suggestions and not a whole lot of space to fit them in since there are word limits on comments.

Would be nice if there was a way to use the clipboard by pasting the IP addresses into the command line.
(Note: I was using Notepad++ to make a list of IP addresses so that I could copy+paste)

Needs to tell you that you won't be able to get both endings with 1 save beforehand... bought the items for hack ending before paying first for pay ending since it sounded like a less revealing one and ended up with hours wasted for an easy ending which techincally prepared me for both endings.. getting 2nd one from new game without any bonuses is too tiresome

Needs some sort of way to turn your mining computers into bots to hack stuff for you. Maybe Laptops and above can turn to bots, sacrifice SFC mining, but auto crack/inject a WPA network for say 500 SFC worth of computing. Or maybe add some larger networks that you need to DDOS with your botnet to mess with security. That, and the ability to chain/queue commands would go a long way towards making this idle. And would probably need a HUD2.0 to monitor extra stuff

Kind of seems like it could be fun, but the lack of being able to use proper keys for writing is a drag. Home and end should be start and end of the line you're editing, not scrolling the screen. Delete should work. Control + arrow should move the cursor one word. Without these, it's too clunky to be truly enjoyable.

Great game (5 stars from me), but I completed the pay ending and now I've got to start again if I want to get the hack ending???????

So I decided to use locateIP on a random IP. Can you tell me why there's a supercomputer in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean?

I have too many misspellings, cant type correctly, takes way too long to finish any command for me personally, but other than that it is a great game

gentilisdenovo you maybe already figured it out by now, but you can use the command probe (ID) and then a number from 1-100 for WPA and 1-9999 for WPA2, it will tell you too high or too low so you can pinpoint the correct one

That MAC# shortcut doesn't seem to be working. I've tried just about every permutation of replacing the actual MAC address with the index # and just get errors.
-mac#- should be working again as of v1.4.4, if you were attempting to use that one. If there is still an issue. an example is 'mine 55.55.55.55 [mac0]', the # replaced with the index of the mac address.

am I missing something? When running crack wep [IP] [Port], do we really have to magically guess the right port, without even the hints that the tutorial gave us? Is there an Net Map utility that we can get?
