Ok, the price gouging on energy drinks is getting to be stupid. Increasing our wages by 1, and doubling the drink costs...no. Just no. I've played this for a good hour or two now, was enjoying it...but this is totally killing it. Feels like a never ending stream of struggling for the sake of struggling. If you keep pulling the carrot away before we get to it, sooner of later people are just going to stop trying. I've reached that point. Done with the game.

STRATEGY GUIDE PART 1: Ok I've played this long enough to write a simple strategy guide. 1) In the beginning when your star rating is 1, train one skill before every match (vision > technique > free kick > power > pace) and go play. Use the lowest effort rate so you don't burn too much energy. Believe me, you'll still get plenty of chances. Get your passes right, try to get an assistance. If the shot is not easy, don't go for it (goal bonus too low at this stage). Don't spend on lifestyle or boots. If your energy is not full before a match, don't train a skill before it. Avoid spending at all costs. 2) Accumulate some money by scoring a few goals. If you get man of the match 2 or 3 times you may get a sponsorship, which means more cash. Play well and with good match ratings you'll soon reach level 2. 3) As soon as you lvl up, negotiate a new contract ($4/$2 is pretty decent). Play a few matches, score some goals, build up some skills. (continued…) +1 this so everyone can see!

STRATEGY GUIDE PART 2: When you have around $10 or $15 it's safe to start gambling. Where? Slots, they're very easy. 4) Start betting $1/game on slots. Slowly build your cash up to $40. At this point, keep betting $1 but if you lose three in a row, start betting $2, win a few and then go back to $1. When you have about $80 start doing the same with $2/$5 bets, then with $5/$7 bets when you have $200. NEVER bet $10 cause in my experience you don't win often. I like the $5 bets better than all. 5) Accumulate as much cash as you want (I got $400 in 20 minutes) and then STOCK UP ON ENERGY DRINKS because now they cost $5. Soon they'll be more than $20 each. 6) Get good boots with nice boosts. Train skills not modified by boots. Buy lifestyle items. Keep playing solid, get new sponsors, level up, re-negotiate contracts etc until the end of the game. Don't forget to give some attention to your sponsors and girlfriend. 7) When out of money: SLOTS! +1 this so everyone can see!

I'm not even a soccer fan but I can't stop playing! Awesome to see the developer working to add suggestions and listen to player feedback, and improving the game so much. Makes an already great game even better.

Why the heck do NRG drinks become more expensive at every level?!? And how am I supposed to make very much money anyway? That ruins the game for me.

overall a good concept for a game, most have mentioned any apparent changes. I was well on my way yesterday toward the last 2 badges and today it will not load. have refreshed many times and restarted comp. May be a possible bug to look into. hope this is fixed or by the game Gods returned to me so i may finish and get more hat tricks :)

Continental and International competitions must be added, you can be able to terminate your contract, you can be get injured, a mute button, when you have sponsors (boots sponsor, clothing sponsor) they must give free boots, clothing for you, much better shortening for the teams' names', needs better coloring for shirts, more events, match odds for betting, maybe more languages to select and play with, offside rule, if you fail to win the ball from the opponent footballer the referee must lecture you or must show yellow or red cards to you.

To put this extremely blunt, I ABSOLUTELY cannot....wait for the next iteration of this game! Also, plz make a new and improved Star Soccer 2 :D

@latvis: the game has an autosave function, if that doesn't work then it's a bug. it does work just fine for me though.
on a different note, i found that either the roulette wheel is programmed in my favor, in black's favor, or i'm just really lucky, because i always bet on black and win far more than half the times. DON'T fix that please. easy money.

could be a really nice game, but way too unbalance.contract negogiation etc. way too luck based. income wage too unbalanced. etc etc, keep on improving. right now 2/5

Thanks for reaching out Simon. Definite 5 star game.. addicting, simple sports sim. I've used IE and gotten the white screen, even on refreshing with no ads, and mozilla crashed after an hour or so of play, but then it worked but ran slowly... Still a great game though.

Very nice game. Few things: need a speed up button, and to know how much a star gives in % for each skill (ex: 1 pace star gives +2% run speed), maybe during a match, should be interesting to show dice results (ex: dice roll=4, 1 to goal etc)

If your teammates are in a poor position and you have space to move, could you possibly impliment a dribbling attribute to the game where you can select for your player to make a small run into space and then pass it? Just a thought ;)

The NRG drinks concept just makes the game seem like a treadmill to nowhere. Constantly have to buy them to even be ready for a match, hardly any money/energy to train or do anything outside of matches.
IMO it would be better to have training or time that could be spent outside of matches after every match, not have it draw from your match energy. NRG drinks make sense as a mid-match boost, but as a required before every match thing they're just an annoying money sink.

@nuttyall It's a random number generator it gives you a better chance to get more chances not explicitly giving you more chances, however I feel as though you should auto get one chance every 10 or so seconds if on high 25 if on med and get one per game just at the start of the second half on low so that there is a distinct increase in chances gotten. (I just made those numbers up play with them as you wish)

Is there ever a reason to set your working rate above basic? It does not seem to increase the chances for passes or anything.

Yet again more changes in 1.08(b) that make the game much better - especially the team mates now being able to hit the side of a barn door at 5 yards - thank you!
I hope you don't make it too easy when you rebalance the NRG. A lot of the people seem to be complaining about it, but I think the difficulty curve is pretty much spot on right through the skill levels. I'm just about to buy my own private island...

5/5, but if i had one issue with the game its that i've had money not get paid to me after games... i had 14 star and after earning 10 in one match, i still only had 14...

the A.I. is more watery than cheap beer! and the pricing VS performance payment is RIDICULOUS! darn shame,this WOULD'VE been a fun game :(

there's still a few bugs: alredy happened twice that didnt counted in score clear goals and sometimes when it comes to intercept there's no ball to chase and I miss the interception

Perhaps a well negotiated contract could include a bonus for assists at higher levels? say around star rating 5 or 10?

Verry good game. Perhaps a small comment: After a kick the rival keeper touched the ball only a little bit and the ball still rolled into the goal. Because the keeper touched it the goal didn't count i know, but perhaps it should? Thx anyways ;)

The whitescreen seems to have something to do with cookies.
I IE the game wont load after the first time.
My firefox will always load the game, but I made firefox delete alle cookies after every session.

how am i supposed to buy shoes or lifestyle stuff, if i cant even afford energy drinks... so no training, even worse playing... maybe needs a newbie and advanced mode for difficulty.
