I wouldn't mind random cases of the "dropsies". That happens. Sometimes you hit a guy in the numbers and he's surprised.
It's the "hey, friend on the other team, would you like me to bounce the ball directly into your eagerly awaiting arms?" ones that bug me.

Also on passing, just like in real football, if there is no one open just throw the ball away: pass it hard to the sideline (in FRONT of the QB so it is not a fumble) and it will be an incompletion. This stops the clock AND interceptions. Better to throw 3 incompletions than 1 INT. My 2* rookie QB has 30+ TDs and 2 INTs so far through 10 games just by minimising risk this way.

Quick help for those who struggle with passing:
You can ALWAYS change the play call by double clicking to a new one. Just do this until you get something you like, especially one that has a deep route for at least one WR. Then, be patient and watch the corners. If they come up to play your WR tight, then either wait for the long pass to develop or after a few seconds dump it off to the RB or TE for 4-9 yards every time. If the corners drop deep, then your WR is always open for 7-10 yards.
I personally think the running game works fine as long as you are not overly reliant on it and change plays to suit your needs. Just be ready for a few 2 yard plays before you break the 15-30 yard big one. My 4* RB averages over 6y/a and that seems better than reasonable to me.

@MadWatch: I now tend to agree... I was initially playing on Chrome and after about 1/2 a season, the players wererunning so slowly that it would take a whole 1/2 of 3 min quarters to move the length of the field and there was a 20sec run off at the end of every play. I moved over to Firefox and, hey presto, properly timed gameplay. Now, if I really need to stop the clock I just run out of bounds.

@elbuzzardo While I do like the idea of time outs, the clock stops after every play, and there is no 25 second clock, nor delay of game penalties. I think time outs would unbalance it further, as is.

why is it my receiver gets the ball, their defenders are so fast, but when they intercept me, my guys cant run and the defence can actually block instead of just running next to the guy with the ball

help for some players, maybe it would help to avoid interceptions, try to make a pass only to the side with more space if u start low take a pass to the top and vis, f.e if u finish last dirve on bottom from field then u sttart low and on the top there will be more space usely, pik a play with a come back route and with the RB at the same site to, so if u got a blitz there is plenty of space to pass to RB if not the WR will be ur target, RB for 10y WR for 13+yards. that is a basic i started with and it works perfekt.

needs timeouts!!! the play clock runs MUCH too fast for how slowly the players move, and then there is no way to stop the clock if tackled in bounds. Just 1 per half would be enough

This game is very funny, and the retro style... wow. It's really a reminder to the old "Blood bowl" like old games. 5/5 hands down, well done!

Gotta love how the DBs can always magically reach two yards through your receiver to catch the ball on the other side of his body. Please fix the interception rate, it makes passing impossible in a game where running was already impossible.

Ok, so AI team stats mean next to nothing. I have a 5 star defense and offense with a 5 star offensive coordinator and a 3 star defensive coordinator, yet my defense is getting scored on every single drive by a one and a half star offense and my running back and wide receivers are not faster than anyone and they consistently juggle the ball, usually netting the other team an interception. I mean, I'm just playing catch the opposing team's DBs and my running back can't make it through the line. What am I even doing in this game?

Not being able to have backup players when your "star" players get injured is a nightmare, especially for QB. It seems if your QB is injured, you're just going to lose.

nightfighter: every 3rd run is a lot, how OLD is that running back(if he loses too much energy during a match he may get too tired wich greatly increases fumble chances that i've noticed) or if he is an inexperienced youngster that might happen too, though not that often

great game i love it, but now after 6 winning bowls in the row, what now? as i said be4, a carrier mode whit unlock plays and a personal playbock, or something like that anything for long term motivation case if it stay like that after a few seassions it become boring, sry to say this

I had a 1.5 star running back that didn't fumble a single time. I saved up to get a 4 star rb that has better stats in every category and he literally fumbles every 3rd run...

I just noticed that the xp gain for defense players seems to be LOWER if they make an intercept. now for the QB being intercepted makes sense to cost him but for a defensive player it should be a major xp boost not a penalty(I had a game where all defensive player got 20+5 x tackle for xp except the intercepting player he got 3 less than that)

I'm learning to take this game on its own terms. Yeah, it's totally unrealistic but I really shouldn't expect a Flash game to have expert AI. Some of the quirks are necessary to make the game interesting while keeping system demands and development effort reasonable, and it fits with the "retro" theme. More patience in passing helps a lot and you'll notice the game giving you breaks; just need to capitalize on them so it's more fair than I initially thought. I'm going to raise my rating to 4/5.

I don't so much mind the rubber-banding after a pass is caught, but for a 2 star defense (in year 4) to be covering super-tight against first round picks with capped speed, and then have them pick the ball off after it bounces out of his capped-catching hands?

Bring some logic next time and if you look at most of the comments you'll find that the bouncing INT is a common problem with this game. Get a real life!

The drops really are silly. Even the ridiculous magnet hand interceptions are ok. But the guys drop like 1/3 the passes and then the defenders pick it.

I have the setting of always going right-to-left. I've noticed the wind doesn't change directions at the quarter changes

what i prefer is to play with 1 QB & Rb and 2 WR, no OL or TE they usualy get low ratings and so they get only few xp per game. and full pack in defence now i have 2 DL and 3 DB, focus on takle, 3 bowls won with a record of 56-1 that cant be wrong :D

also the clock should stop once you get tackled. Makes it fair for when your trying to score a last second touchdown. You get tackled with 5 sec. left and it runs down to zero. At least add timeouts.

There is no way to make a big play. You always get chased down. Yet if the opponent has a lead they never get chased down. Super frustrating.

Is anyone noticing how insane the BILLS are? Not to anger anyone but the Bills are not a 5-star team. This is my 4th season and so far the Bills have always been in the Retro Bowl. Also, my schedule is the exact same as 2019-2020 and the Bills were certainly not unbeatable last year.
