well, johnny upgrade was timed while here standing still does nothing to deplete your energy, so pros could likely experiment a bit with the shortest ways of getting through. the only part that even requires a bit of timing are the goombas which look like more like their super mario world counterparts than the original game, also planning out how to get items for upgrading faster seems to be key as well as seeing the most coinfilled route.

I hope Nintendo won't copyright strike those pipes 'cuz those pipes are suspiciously similar to Super Mario Brothers game. Create a Super Ordinary Marathon based on this game just multiplayer. Great game even though the start is a little bit sluggish. 5/5
While the graphics are meant to be reminiscent of the original Mario, it's all original stuff, no worry. Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you liked it!

Johnny Upgrade, but better, that's probably the best way to describe it, I didn't want to replay Johnny Upgrade. And yet here I am a day later, playing this a second time.

Fun game for those who like it. There were some buggy platforms in places though (at the beginning of part 2, I try to fall between the platforms [just after monster] and I get moved up to the top platform)

This is a very cool game, and I am enjoying it thoroughly. But it really throws me off using ESDF for movement instead of WASD. I dunno your design choice there, but if there could be a way to rebind, would be much better.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I used WASD initially but it throws off AZERTY users. Using ESDF was the easiest way to make it easy for everyone. You can also use JoyToKey to map controls to a gamepad!

Very nice game! Ability to go back to prior level after winning would be nice - always fun to re-do levels once you're super-upgraded!

I think i just found the best thing in the world just go up high and hold the punch butten then you can levitate and move. (also great game:)

I'm so glad I came across this game. Sure, there's room for improvement but this has made me real excited for a sequel

video game gets rid of upgrade. Anyways is there a third level or is the second level the end? i beat it and it says the end but that's what it did when i beat the first level today.

nvm i glitched it but anyways if a (goomba?) is in the right place under a lucky block you can make the lucky block go up like a quarter of a block
Thanks for bringing that up, I've changed the WASD scheme to a more international ESDF scheme. You can also use the arrow keys along with C and V instead of Z and X.

I'm not sure of the requirements, but in order to go left and skip most of the level, I was on day 25 and had Running 12, Jumping MAX, Punching 4, Climbing 4, and had the Yin-Yang at a price of 6 (I forget how many times I upgraded it). I jumped to the left and it teleported me to the top of the far right side at the end of the level next to the cake. I also found if you position yourself correctly and are too close to the side when you jump, you can fall out of the game and lose energy without being able to see or move your character forcing you to reload the game.

Very nice Game indeed. BUT, is it possible for you to change the Keyboardlayout so that European Players could use X and Y instead of X and Z? Would be nice. Thank you.

Geez, a Mario parody game... so original. Also, the first musical theme is cool, but the other two are horrible, they don't even sound like part of the same game.
Anyway, fun game it deserves a 5/5 just because it's not a idle game and because the premise is cool.

I found by accident, that it is possible to get to the end on the first level by upgrading your jump boost enough and jumping left. After further testing, I determined that the same was possible on the second level as well.

Punching seems to be way more efficient than walking... when you punch it takes less stamina and you move forward. So if you keep punching the whole game then you'll reach about 2 times than expected

The enemies shouldn't be able to hit you once you run out of energy. It just delays your next run, and I've once gotten stick where two enemies and myself continuously hit each other. I had to refresh the page.

@Givvy: punching them can kill them and it gives you 1 gold. You can oneshot them when your punching is leveled enough.

I like the repeat\redo idea for getting stronger and faster to clear more of the level. I had a lot of fun on the first half. The punching is completely pointless as it does nothing but stun them for an incredibly short amount of time (Same as jumping on them) so there is 0 point in wasting money upgrading it. I think you have a really solid idea here, but I think it would be in your best interest to remove all the SMB stuff, design your own content and maybe take this one step further with the upgrades as mentioned by other commenters.

Pretty cool game. I especially like the part where you mom gives you free food when you get bad luck and don't get at least 2 coins.

This is one of those times where, while the cake isn't a lie, thinkin' your goin' to still be slim, trim, fit and *NOT* feelin' like death....is. Nice.

I must say that the second part feels a bit annoying, because it is the same thing happening all over again. It is still fun though. It would be nice if you could think of something to give a sense of progress when getting to the second part. Other than that, really nice game, 5/5 :)

What different effects does the food have because the obvious choice is burger but does it have some kind of negative effect?
