really lost interest at level 2. I enjoyed level one but maybe it's more interesting to just make level 2 harder instead of having to do the same thing again. Or maybe introduce puzzles or something.

Could have afforded a little more emphasis on the interactions with the enemies. Could have made jumping on them more interesting/different. Getting bounce locked makes sense but feels janky in the system.

too grindy for my tastes. seriously too grindy. Also on the second level the Qi-gong gets stuck at 14 and won't go any higher but it also doesn't max or just give you a sign it's done. Oh and the stamina punch thing doesn't seem to happen near as much in part two as in part one.

was gonna vote 5/5 but i am rating 4/5 because of that game over. i still had 2 coins left. i think there is a bug here. so close to the end to

Awesome game! Loved the idea. My only criticism is that I think you should keep *something* or a powerup for the next round, losing everything doesn't feel so good.

5/5 Simple fun game. Second round was... a little boring. Just more of the same. The random stuff was a really nice surprise tho

controls need to be WASD not ESDF. Or they need to be remappable. There is a reason WASD was chosen, and peripherals are made to use WASD, changing to ESDF makes those peripherals useless and the controls impossible. Thanks.
ESDF is to suit both QWERTY and AZERTY users. It was an acceptable compromise for now, next game will most likely have remappable controls. You can use JoyToKey software to map keys to a gamepad, which is my preferred way of playing this game!

Good short game. Controls are mostly solid. It's a bit too easy to jump on an enemy and be inside the hitbox so you can't punch it, and the ledge grab is sometimes a little too sticky when you want to jump down. Other than that they're very responsive and feel right. A bit of Coyote Time is not wrong either. As mentioned, the second stage was a bit too grindy in the start with no real options for what to do. But other than that, I don't have anything negative to say. It's fun and delivers above what you'd expect from a decent little game like this (let alone your average flash game). Looking forward to a sequel.

@SomeLame: Tai Chi is not going to heal a physical ailment, but it's still a martial art and a form of exercise. Give it the slim credit it's due; it's not used wrongly here.
Tai-chi stimulates organs and blood flow and can support the healing process though it should mostly be used for preventive purpose.
That said, it's all in good humour and should be taken lightly in the context of this game! :D

Made it in 79 days. I liked the game, but I didn't like the reference to qi-gong. Qi-gong is quackery and woo. Exercise works and Qi-gong is exercise, please stop inadvertently promote quackery within video games.

I beg to differ; Qi-Gong is a very serious and ancient practice and promotes health in many ways.
I practiced Tai-Chi for years and it did increase my stamina and breath capacity (and fixed my back).
Thanks for your comment.

Why am I playing a game that punishes you when your character plays video games?
Also, there needs to be more instructions or the player needs a lot more patience.
A decent game, nonetheless.

Great game, wish there were more like this in these trying times of idle games' dominance. One complaint though is that it took a few days for me to realize you can crawl onto ledges, perhaps give the player a hint in the beginning of the first level?

What's the point of broccoli if hamburger gives more stamina and costs the same? What's the point of fish with cheese when hamburger gives similar stamina and costs half as much?

would be nice if the game showed how many days it took for you to beat it, so that you can have the goal of beating your previous record...

The punching instead of running thing needs fixing, but at this point a nerf isn't what's called for. I would buff walking to be at least equal in terms of distance per stamina.

Using punching as primary motion, I managed to bring my days to completion down to 41. Better is certainly possible. You can't get through it without points in running because running improves your jump distance, so eventually it becomes necessary. Still, just barely punched my way across the finish line for both cakes.

Regarding the issue with overall progression... if you do make a sequel, I can think of a few things here. Primarily, leveling up your stats could increase your 'skill' at a certain kind of training, making it cheaper and potentially raising the cap. Skill doesn't get reset between levels like stats do. As an additional idea, maybe toss in unique abilities for each 'world'. Maybe in world one, you can find sweatbands that teach you how to sprint, boosting your movement speed if you stay still for a few moments. World two might have a rock climbing kit, allowing you to scale walls. World three could have dumbbells which turn your punch into a lift/throw. Etc.
I also think a semi-open setup could be beneficial. A 'world' setup, with smaller levels, each containing either a type of training, money, or a business of some sort.
Sequel or not, it's an awesome game, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make next!
Thanks for your comments and ideas. I like the carry-over skills one in particular. I don't know if I'll make a sequel, I've got a ton of other projects on my plate now!

Punching shouldn't make the player go forward that would eliminate the punching advantage over running. Also try to make some more levels and some more enemies.

There's a bug where if you get hit by the goomba things next to a pipe it seems like the tired animation is unable to fully complete and it doesn't go back to the stats screen
I don't know! I think it would deserve it but I've got a lot of other projects on my plate and my time and resources are scarce.
I do have other games coming to Kongregate soon though.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's a fun idea for sure, but I do feel like it's a bit too grindy on upgrading your character once I got to stage 2 and couldn't progress past the pipe until my jump and grip stats were over halfway.
