it'd be cool if the helmets and weapons could be used to change our appearance. (for example weapons change attack animations)

...game accomplishes what it sets out to do, but it fails to be fun. Gameplay is repetitive. Controls feel sluggish. Not much incentive to keep at it past the first few minutes.

Like the immortal classic N, this game is about leveling up your player and assigning your hard-earned skill points. What? No, not your character. YOU, the PLAYER.

I do like the visual upgrades idea, and I think it might be nice if they had slight helpful abilities that don't affect the difficulty that much.

I like this game alot because it doesnt rely on how good your gear is, the money you have to get better tools, etc. It relies plainly on skill. Keep it up, I love this game!

Personally, I'd rather leave it as it is, with no upgrades than the suggested 'visual upgrades'. Skins, costumes and other window decoration do not give me the feeling of progress. They represent grind without benefit, only serving to remind the player of how little they get in return for their time and effort. Its like the fake gold watch at your retirement party when you still have debts to pay.

For all the people who are begging for upgrades read the 'Description' also: When your armour gets knocked off a little recover time would be appreciated.

Game...too difficult... never will win. Will wait for a guide, or walthrough, or spoiler for the ending. Wish i could experience it myself. oh well. 3/5

Good game, although, captains dashing from off screen is not cool. Also, the flowers in level 1 should be more acessible to get, currently there are some locations that are impossible to get since there is no way to get them other than double jumps or parachutes. You should just assume that on level 1 you don't have double jump or parachutes at when generating the flowers, or at least give the player some double jumps or parachutes at the beggining.

If this game is supposed to be based on mastering game mechanics, I'd like more mechanics to work with. Primarily, I'd like something to increase mobility. Double tap left or right for a quick burst of speed would be nice. Also, make it a bit clearer which platforms can or cannot be jumped through.

An idea for visual upgrades: You could let them look like some of the loot (the helmets, swords). Might want to make some of them a bit fancier, though.

Mhh, I like the game by itself but without any progression whatsoever I feel like a big part and motivator is missing. You run, die, start over. Run die start over. Eventually you get better and run a bit further but there is something missing in between. If you want to motivate players you need to offer some type of progression/improvement/reward. Use the loot as some currency as of now loot seems worthless. Still decent but I felt something essential is missing to keep me interested for longer than a few minutes

Very nice game! I Like the fact that this game is skill-based, and not just.. farm untill u got the best upgrade and win. =) As others has implied, it would be nice with visual upgrades, but that aint game-changing =) 5/5

can restart be mapped to spacebar? I find my thumb goes there automatically and i don't like having to move my hand away to reach the mouse and disrupt the 'zone'

Really love this game but my only complaint is the double jump. I wish there was a seperate button because i'm constantly double jumping into arrows on accident.

This game is deceptively brilliant. It starts off and you think 'oh yeah, I know this' but quickly the challenge ramps up to a very satisfying difficulty. Nice nice work. 5/5

This game reminds me of Prince of Persia: The Fallen King for nintendo ds. But Rogue Soul is a lot more fun to play. So addicting. Great graphics. 5/5

I think the fact that there are different enemies, obstacles, and the such in later zones is enough in the upgrade department. The main reason I find upgrades of some sort important is so that the game doesn't get stale. Some visual variation would be welcomed. Love the game, it's super fun!

After my first few tries I was begging for upgrades, but eventually I got the hang of it. Good game, and it's actually pretty cool how it makes you get better by practicing, not with upgrades.

Why make 'em 'upgrades?' Why not make the visual 'upgrades' a whole bunch of customizable options, ranging from what kind of weapon you hit a spearman with to what color his left shoe is?

Dude, ya gotta have upgrades of some sort. Keep in mind that having upgrades doesn't mean that suddenly people don't have to master the mechanics. There are a number of ways that you could keep both in simultaneously. Idk, all I know is that this game is just freaking begging for upgrades. Hell, just give different outfits or whatever, maybe tack on some minor upgrades like jump height or overall speed (when moving around the screen) or w/e. Just do something. Oh, and souly clearly wants it. She keeps giving this guy double jumps, gravity defying powerups, in exchange for silly little flowers and he just keeps running; she's sending you signals bro, ya gotta get on that. Don't leave her hanging.
